I'm glad it inspired you. I know there are more of these type trips out there, but this one was the only one I noticed. It was on the back of one of the crochet magazines I get in the mail. I think it would be a blast.

pros and cons between flying and sailing, for me personally,
less hassle sailing (I live not far from a port that regularly goes to wales/france) security is way less hassle too! can wonder around the ship, better food...downside is I can sometimes not feel well on a ship.
Planes - further away so more travelling, airports and security is way way more hassle, stay in your seat for duration, no food/more expensive food, on the plus side I usually feel fine flying and its a shorter trip (depending on where i am going)
So a cruise sounds great in theory.... until i feel nauseous for half of that holiday which would just ruin it rolleyes
I guess overall i prefer dry land holidays xd

I'm not great at travelling in a car if i'm reading, otherwise I'm ok 3nodding I like travelling by train, quite relaxing, one of the ones I have regularly taken goes all along the east coast of ireland, from rosslare to dublin, its very scenic and many of the seats have actual tables biggrin so laptops,drawing and crocheting is much easier! wink

I've never actually found flying scary, probably because i've travelled with airplanes since I was very very young, and they were cool first before they were ever scary? So I find I still love being in an airport watching planes land and take-off (you know, while you're waiting for your flight to board xd )
And when I was a child, before all this security frenzy, you could ask and go up and see the pilots in the cabin, and they would talk to you and you could see out of the windscreen bit!
So yeah, planes are cool for me, and while I understand the theoretical fear of flying, I don't have that phobia thankfully heart

I like that too - take off and landing - watching it. razz It's also cool to look up and see planes overhead so loud you think they're quite low or so low you can read the company name. Planes are awesome! (I'm just not crazy about being in them).

I've never ridden in a train. There is a rail touring vacation that you can take from Florida up into Canada. Hubby and I wanted to do that one but they frowned on kids riding along. cat_stare Sorry. Not going to take a vacation without my kids. cat_mad I'd love to go to, oddly enough, Nova Scotia. When I was researching a book we made some really nice people there. I'd love to go see them. cat_3nodding
