Everyone collects something. You know there is a stash of something even if it's a jar full of buttons. So, I want to know some of the things that you collect that have nothing to do with crochet or crafting. I mean, I guess it could be, but it doesn't have to be in any shape of form related to our love of crochet. So, what is it? cat_ninja

I have several collections! I've been collecting marbles since I was very little and when my hubby and I first got together I found out that he had been collecting marbles too since a child. cat_whee When we got married we put our collection together and we have over 5,000 marbles.
I also collect crochet hooks. I didn't start collecting them on purpose but I've inherited hooks from my grandmother and my hubby's grandmother. cat_4laugh
I also have a huge jar of buttons that was my grandmother's. I've only added around 12 to the collection and I've used some of them. cat_3nodding
I collect cooking recipes and crochet/knitting patterns. I also have a nice collection of ceramic birds that I just started this year.
Wow. lol. I guess I collect a lot of stuff. cat_lol

I don't collect anything with intent on keeping it long term...if that makes sense? I just somehow end up with insane amounts of crafting things lol. I do tend to buy/make penguin and dragon things for the kids when I can get away with it though

Hm. I like to collect things to see if I can find a use for them later. I used to collect a whole lot than I do now - I was a definite hoarder but of small things, like those like shiny things they used to put in Cheetoos packages. This was when I had a fascination with making doll house things. Hm. I still like working miniature things. smile
I collect cardboard as Fel well knows, lol, but I do have a definite plan for using it up now. I like jars and bottles. Don't actually have that many.
I do most of my collecting here on Gaia and suffer my poor inventory. I like pins and hairpins. I like pets. ^_^ Oh and Gaia Artworks, lol.
IRL if I could, my real problem thing with be gloves in many lengths and spectacles in all hues. I've inherited a lot of beads and yarn of late. I can see how collecting beads would be fun.
@Fel: I have a large bag of marbles, but since they're all the same I don't think they count. razz I used to have a stamp collection but that's long misplaced or thrown away - no idea really what happened.

I've a few collections... most of which I just realized I have yet to unpack yet. *coughs*
Let's see... there's my Transformers collection, my My Little Ponies (original 80s and the newer sorts), my graphic novels, my half a library of books and then my few (but coveted!) Windstone figurines. I also collect other random odds and ends. Lately it's been anything to do with owls, lanterns or antique keys.

I have a male, female and baby Kirin collection. We also have a white unicorn, baby dragon and a Poad that's adorable. I just love anything from M. Pena. All the toys that I had as a collection (Barbies, My Little Ponies, and Hot Wheels) I've passed down to the kids. Now they're playing with them.

Any amount no matter what they look like is a collection of marbles in my opinion. lol. Also, hubby had a stamp collection too but he doesn't know where it is either.

I've one peacock Spectral dragon and a brown hatching dragon, a few grab bags (one unicorn and one poad), I've a winged flap cat named Tango... limited production and only one so far and then a few paint-your-owns that I tried out and really enjoyed doing. Just wish it wasn't so expensive! Especially those grab bags. Soooo tempting and so bad on my wallet.

♪♫ most things I don't collect on purpose, I just see it, like it and then I end up with it. and somewhere along the lines I end up with a handful of the same type of things. a lot of it is craft scraps and stuff, I just really don't like seeing stuff being thrown away but then it takes me forever and a half before I actually use it. And sometimes I don't use it because I like it too much.
But my on purpose collections, I like cool looking quarters? buttons; I like buttons. at first it was a, oh that's cute maybe I'll use that. but then I started seeing buttons just laying around; it's like I've gotten another sense just for buttons. so now I collect them.
and stamps, I really like stamps but I don't use them. I'm not quite sure where to put them.

Windstone Editions -- so many, many pretties... not enough money in the world. XD @Felina75: The grab bags are fun and addictive. Expensive though and they're tiny compared to the regular sized casts. So much detail in a tiny package, mind you! It's true though. The dragons come in sooo many colors. So much WANT.
