We are all pattern hunters, so tell us how you acquire them.

Do you purchase patterns or just look for free ones?

Hee hee. "Acquire" is a funny word.

I like finding free patterns - even if they're aren't in English. I used to bookmark sites like crochetpatterncentral.com. Now there's Pinterest. Nuff said. razz

I do have some in Ravelry that are for cash. Did you know that if a pattern is in your queue you can add it to a Wishlist? I didn't til recently. Pretty cool. smile

Typically I look for free patterns and follow designers on facebook to watch for freebies/sales. But I do buy patterns if I really love them also. I have way more patterns than I'll ever be able to make lol.
90% of my patterns on on Ravelry

It never fails. I always find the perfect pattern and it's for sale, not free. lol. So I have way more that I've bought than found for free. cat_emo

But I do love getting free patterns from Red Heart and Lion Brand. Some of them are very cute.

♪♫ I've no choice. I have to look for the free ones.
and I'll be looking for the freebies until after someone decides they want to hire me.

on ravelry I always make sure to check the "free" box
just so I don't get sad when I see a pattern I want but can't have mrgreen

Me too, lol. Although, some paid patterns are very inspiring.

What's harsh is when you see a cool design and there's no pattern at all - paid or free.

I usually try to find free ones on Raverly or Pinterest, but I do have a few books on crochet...
