Hello! And welcome to my panel on Town Pride! I will be focusing on the 4 main towns of Gaia that many of our beloved NPCs live in. They are Barton, Durem, Isle de Gambino & Aekea. However, discussion about other locations known throughout the Gaiaverse are welcome as well.
In addition to learning about what we know about these towns, you also have a chance to win some great prizes through 3 different contests which can be found below.

History & Fun Facts
Barton Town, commonly shortened to Barton, is the oldest town in Gaia, and is at the center of the Gaian community. On the world map it presently contains links to the Forums, Art Arena, Barton Boutique, Barton Jewelers, Buttercup Cafe, Guilds, and the Train Station (Towns version 1). It was also the central area in the now retired zOMG game.
Gaia's first Olympics were held in 2004. Two NPCs from each town were chosen to compete in a race from Isle de Gambino to Durem, and back again. Ian and Leon participated for Barton and placed 3rd and 4th respectively.
During the Summer 2k7: Summer Festival, the team was promoted by Leon and featured him along with Rina and Rufus on the event page. Ultimately Barton placed 3rd in the event only a few points behind Aekea. All Hail Barton, the Heart of Gaia!

In 2008 during Gaia's first Reject Olympics, Barton was shown gathering its team in the manga called Cat Fish. The main Barton NPCs featured in it are Ian, Rufus, Rina and Leon. Centaurs and an Angel Imp are also seen being recruited to help. Barton came in 1st place and won the gold trophy for this event.
2012 brought Gaia's second Rejected Olympics. These Olympics focused more on user participation. In the end, Barton placed 2nd.

Home Styles in Towns Towns 1 was released in 2005 with users only being able to make a home in Barton Commons. There were 3 exterior home choices available.
Towns 2 was released in 2013. With it came the option for Gaians to live in their favorite town. Each town was given 3 different looks to choose from for the outside of their home.

History & Fun Facts Durem is the second city that was revealed here on Gaia. It is located west of Barton and has many gothic style buildings. On the world map there are presently links to ____.
"Durem's antique architecture & distinctive clock tower give it a classy old-world look, but it's also got a reputation for great night-life & unmatched coolness thanks to high-profile residents like Moira, Edmund & Natasha. Home to some of Gaia's hippest stores (Durem Depot & Skin Tyte) and classiest boutiques (Salon Durem & H.R. Wesley), it's also the hottest shopping destination around. "
In 2004 during the first Olympics held here on Gaia. Moira and Edmund competed for Durem. Moira finished 1st and Edmund was disqualified.
Durem is the area that contains supernatural beings, such as vampires, werewolves, and dark elves. Durem's Summer 2k7: Summer Festival team finished in 1st place in the event. Durem came in 2nd place during the Rejected Olympics and won the Silver Trophy, only a few decimals of a point behind Barton.
