 While having a picnic with his Adoptive Mother Ruby and best friend Kin Jiro he becomes distracted by something. So he follows that something a good while before he realizes he's gone too far and become lost. Frightened he curls up under a tree not wishing to get the attention of anyone in case they wish to harm him for whatever reason. It's something Ruby taught him while living with her, and by now they are both probably panicked about where he is and if he's alright.

 Butterscotch had been laying in the tree that young Victor, had curled up under, she watched the poor little frighted boy for awhile before making herself known.
"Are you lost little one?"
Butterscotch did not want to scare him but if he was lost, she would help him find his mother and father. Butterscotch wondered, how the little one got lost from his family.

Startled by her voice he looks up and blinks a few times having never seen anyone like her. For some reason her colors are calming to him so he smiles up at her, "I was following something and when it finally got out of sight I realized I was lost. Mother told me that if lost I should hide because you never know who might be friend and who might be foe." Slightly frowning at her and tilting his head a bit to the right he asks, "Are you friend?" The tilting his head a bit to the left he also asks, "Or are you foe?" Needing to make sure that it's safe to be near her and ever more so, if it's safe to be talking to her. Un-tilting his head he looks up at her before she can answer and quickly asks, "What's your name? My Mother will be cross with me if I don't even know who you are before starting a conversation with you." Blushing he looks away from her feeling shameful for not remembering one of his Mother's rules for his talking to others he doesn't know just yet.

Butterscotch jumped down from the branch, and sat down facing the little one, "well I could be a friend, I would like to be a friend." Butterscotch looked around to see if she could see someone similar to the little one but didn't see anyone that looked like him. "My name is Butterscotch, friends call me Butter, and what is your name little one?" Butterscotch didn't want to seem like she was ignoring him, but she kept looking around, looking for anyone that seemed to be in a panic looking for a missing child. She looked back at him and gave him, a big smile trying to make him less afraid of her, and hoping to calm him down a little.

When she jumped down he became startled, though that hadn't lasted long, "Well, I'm Victor. And if you want to be friends with me I'm fine with that. If we are friends I can call you Butter as well?" With a bit of a bow to be polite he then smiles at her, "Nice to meet you Butterscotch, and may I ask what and or whom you are looking for?" Looking around a bit he doesn't see anyone he knows then looking back at Butterscotch, "I can't see anyone I know anywhere around here, my Mother is which and two different purples and she has heart markings. While my friend is black with red bat markings. Maybe if I climb up the tree I can try finding them? Unless you'd rather climb the tree?" Then it hits him, "Oh, Butterscotch like the candy? I've never had the candy though maybe Mother will get some for me after ether she finds me or we find her?" Pausing he thinks a bit more before asking, "Does that mean others have tried chewing on you? I mean Kin Jiro and I chew on each other and even Mother. Though that's to play and we never chew very hard because that's one way to upset and or anger someone." Slightly nodding his head he wonders how many others have upset and or angered Butterscotch.

Butterscotch watched Victor listening to him, her ears final moved flicking. "yes you may call me Butter, and when I was up there I didn't see anyone that looked like what you described." Butterscotch looked around and then looked back at Victor "well maybe she will, just dont chew on me, cause a lot of people have chewed on me thinking I was candy." Not many people have gained butterscotch's anger, but when she was younger being bit by people made her cry.

Smiling brightly, "Butter." Pouting a bit, "Guess I really did get far enough away to lose them. I hope they aren't too worried about me." Smiling once more, "I'm sure if I ask her, seeing as I don't ask for much." Then becoming cofused, "Oh, me chew on you? You are my friend, though I only chew on Kin Jiro and Mother because they let me and Mother is family. So I would never just randomly chew on a friend, or chew on someone because they look like candy either." Walking closer to her he sits down and asks, "Want a hug? Since I always ask before I do anything that might startle, shock, or anger someone. I'm just asking in case you need a hug while on the other hand I feel like I need a hug."

Butter Smiled at him trying to not make him more worried, "well we can always retrace your steps if you remember things, I am sure we can find your mom and your friend" Butter laughed and flicked her tail, she didn't mean to confuse the little one "I can be very confusing sometimes, sorry." Butter watched as he sad down and when he asked for a hug she smiled again and hugged him gently "Everyone needs a hug so I dont mind giving hugs".

Her smiling helps him to feel better, then he blushes, "I was following something so I have no clue which ways I was going before it got out of sight. Though I am sure that if we go in a certain direction long enough we might get closer to them? Because there is something I know and that's the basic way I was coming from which could get me some what closer to them?" Smiles more at her, "Well, I'm sure I can be confusing at times as well, though so far I understand a lot of what we are talking about so that's good." When she hugs him he starts to feel more sure of that basic way then looks up at her, "Thanks, and it's nice to feel safe and cared about, it helps me to remember things a bit better." Then walking forwards he gets a bit past the tree trunk then turns to the right to sit down and then he smiles over at her then points forward, "I think if we go this way we'll get someplace in the area, and if not, maybe along the way I will remember something, maybe what I saw while following whatever it is that I followed to this point?"

Butter Looked at Victor before finally fallowing him over past the tree, she fallowed where he pointed and smiled again "OK lets get going!" Butter excitedly got up and seemed to hop a little as she moved forward. Butter turned around and smiled at Victor again to see if he was fallowing. "Let's hope we can find your mom before supper time." Butter giggled and sat down to wait for Victor, she was eager and exceeded to be moving around and helping someone otherwise she had nothing better to do.

Smiling at Butter, "Alright, it'll be nice to get back to them and make sure they aren't too worried about me." When she turns to look at him again and smiles yet again he smiles back fully intending to follow her so as not to get lost even more than he has. "Oh, alright. Want to stay and eat with us? I'm sure Mother brought enough for one or two more. Seeing as she loves cooking and baking and now with me around she has someone to teach." Walking up to her he giggles a bit while more then ready to introduce his new friend to his Mother and other friend.

Butter Looked for anyone that matched the description that Victor had told her, she had seen no one as she walked. Every now and then Butter would make sure that she had not lost Victor, and when he asked about her staying for dinner, she smiled at him once again "If it's all right with your mother I'll stay for dinner, does your mother like to teach you?" Butter asked as she looked around again for anyone matching Victors description.

Victor looks around with Butter to try being as helpful as he can be since he's starting to miss his Mother and Kin Jiro. Yet, he can't help to notice that Butter seems to look to see if he's still there which makes his blush a bit. So when she smiles at him he smiles back, "I'm sure it will be, she likes getting to know others since before she found me and Kin Jiro she was rather lonely. So I'm sure she would like to have come more company for dinner, and she seems to really enjoy teaching me since she has no children of her own yet she teaches me. It's sort of like practice in case she ever does have children, or so I keep telling her." He looks around a bit more with her then looks to her and asks, "Maybe we should keep walking in this direction until we get past those trees up ahead? Seeing as it's starting to look a bit familiar to me, I think. I'm sure that I saw those trees before and if not I could always just climb a tree and scream to see who comes running? Of course, if that's a bad idea then we could just keep walking and talking?"

"Okie then, and that's good, at least shes getting practice" Butter Giggled, she watched as Victor looked around. "maybe going up a tree yes, but no to screaming I think that would bring un-wanted attention, or we can keep walking and see if we can see anything." Butter kept walking and started to look up tree's to see which one would be good for climbing, she did not see any that where safe enough for Victor or herself to climb up safely, so she moved on heading further in the forest every now and then looking at Victor seeing if he remembered anything.

"Yeah, and so am I so it's good that we both like to do most of the same things together." Looking up at Butter he smiles and blushes a bit, "Your right, and we don't want un-wanted attention so just climbing a tree would help." He keeps following Butter while she seems to be looking for a safe tree? Of course when she looks back every so often he jerks his head up from sniffing around to see if anything smells familiar as well as looks familiar. Quickly rushing ahead to take the lead he veers off to the left a bit then turns around to reply, "This way should get us there before we now it since I remember how I weaved around the tree trunks. Just several more feet and then we'll we there. So would now be a good time for me to lead?" He sits down and waits for her answer because he wants to make sure that Butter is alright with the idea.
