CHAPTER 2 - DETAILED GUIDELINES
Now that you've reviewed the Do's and Don'ts, let's look each condition more closely.
#1 Being Respectful – Everyone in this guild is a member of Team Plasma. This guild was made to be a safe and friendly environment for all so each person deserves to be treated with respect. Harassment in any form including intentionally putting someone down is strictly prohibited. If you do not get along with another Team Member, DO NOT reflect that in this guild. Please set aside your differences to keep this guild safe and fun for all or simply choose not to interact with that Member.
• Racist, sexist, homophobic, and other ignorant, hateful comments directed toward a certain group of people are also never acceptable, even if censored.
• All content that does not abide by these rules will be deleted by a moderator or administrator as soon as it is brought to our attention. In this case we are sorry this situation has occurred however we are not held responsible for other Team Members’ actions. We apologize in advance for any exposure before action is taken.
Please note: If another member is making you feel uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to report that user or contact a moderator.
#2 Check images/links before posting – Do not breach any Gaia Online rules for the sake of only posting it in this guild. Be sure to keep your links and images clean from harsh profanity or questionable content. Also make sure none of your links have viruses/malware or excessive disruptive ads. Also be sure the image or link does not lead to any flashing that can potentially cause seizures.
#3 Controversial/touchy subjects - Please avoid any and all triggers. To keep this a safe environment we all must remain sensitive to everyone’s views and beliefs.
#4 Double posting – Please do not post repetitively as it is disruptive and unnecessary. If you need to add to your post please edit your previous post. The only time double posting is acceptable when a user bumps the post and ONLY if the topic has been inactive for SEVERAL HOURS.
#5 Staying on topic – Stay on topic for each thread. Instead of completely getting off track or hijacking a thread PM the user directly, bring up the topic in the Guild Chat Room or create a new thread.
#6 Reviving old topics/threads – Instead of reviving an old thread create a new one. We discourage all old thread revivals as a new post will bring the old topic back to the top of the forum. Instead of reviving old threads either mention the old thread or make a link to it in the new thread.
#7 Topic flooding – Instead of creating multiple threads on the same topic add your comments to the existing thread. Only create new threads if the topic you wish to discuss does not exist or has been inactive for two or more weeks.
#8 Respect the moderator's decisions - Remember that moderators and administrators are here to enforce these rules and keep the forums a fun and safe environment. If you believe something the moderators have done was unjust or without reason do not take it out in the forums, PM a moderator directly or contact a different administrator.
#9 Linking to illegal content - Please make sure you are not directing any users to illegal content, or encouraging illegal activities.
#10 Advertising – Feel free to advertise however DO NOT SPAM. Repetitive disruptive posts will be deleted and may result in a suspension in your membership. Also be sure that you are advertising under the correct sub-forum. The Social Media Forum was made specifically for this purpose so feel free to utilize it.
#11 Sticky/Announcement topics - Remember that the forum and sub-forums all have its own set of rules or exceptions to the rules listed here. Always check the Announcements and Sticky topics located at the very top of the list of threads for their specifics.
CHAPTER 3 - THINGS TO REMEMBER
Here are the last few guidelines to follow.
What to do when you see a rule broken:
When you see a rule that has been broken DO help guide that member in the correct direction in a kind and respectful way. DO NOT simply call out a user for being wrong. If the behavior in question has not been dealt with in over 12 hours it is possible a moderator has not caught it in which case please report it to a moderator through PM, not in the forums.
Current Policy on Backseat Moderating:
It is encouraged for users to direct a member in the right direction however that does not mean take on the role as a moderator. If you see an issue that has been over looked you can direct it to the attention of a moderator through PM however DO NOT take that responsibility upon yourself. We want everyone to enjoy the forums so don’t worry about moderating, just sit back and enjoy the fun.
Signatures:
It is encouraged that you use an image or banner to help promote our guild however it is not a requirement.
Having multiple accounts:
Having multiple accounts is not an issue unless you have been suspended or removed from the guild by a moderator. If you have been suspended please wait until that suspension has been lifted to post in our forums or participate in any guild affiliated chats or events. Do not use another account or else all accounts will be expelled.
Account Security and Personal Information:
Administrators and moderators in any case will NOT ask for any of your personal information such as maiden name or home address as well as NEVER ask for your account information such as your password. If anyone from the guild asks for this kind of information, even if they claim to be an admin DO NOT give it out. For your safety contact an administrator immediately to prevent any threat.
Other countries/languages:
This guild is based in the United States and English is the prominent language used. People from around the world however are welcome to utilize the forums so remember to be sensitive to language barriers and translation errors as well as cultural differences.
Dealing with problems on other websites:
We realize that sometimes there are issues with images and links however only bring it to the moderators’ attention if it has to do with the guild’s homepage or chat room. If a link or image is not working in a thread then please bring it up in that topic so the issue can be resolved there.
