Ástríðr is of average height and weight for a Nord woman. She has dark blue eyes which appear black in anything other than very bright light. She has aqua warpaint on her face, streaking from around her eyes to her collarbone. When she is out adventuring, Ástríðr wears Ancient Nord armor she made herself (she copied the form from the female Draugr she saw, as well as Aela). She refuses to wear a helm; not liking how they narrow her field of vision - opting instead, to wear circlets enchanted with armor bonuses by Farengar Secret-Fire. She has two silver and amethyst rings - one with a health enchantment, the other with an enchantment to prevent diseases. She received a charmed necklace from some revelers during her travels and during her down time, Ástríðr enjoys making the other companions uncomfortable by wearing a corset dress and a pair of knee-high dark boots.

Ástríðr lives in Kodlak's old room in Jorvaskr. However, she's rarely there long, as she travels frequently on jobs for the Companions.

Ástríðr is the Harbringer for the Companions of Whiterun.

Ástríðr is a master with a sword and shield, but would be more likely to fall onto a two-handed swords, than to stab her enemy. She's handy with a bow, but tends to leave the long-range attacks to Aela. Ástríðr can't sneak to save her life - literally, she tried - but is very persuasive; she managed to talk Belethor out of a rather pricey healing potion for little more than a kiss on the cheek and a bundle of skins.

W E A P O N S
Ástríðr has two Nordic swords, forged by Eorlund Gray-Mane after Kodlak passed, as well as a rather unique shield she found while she and her shield-siblings put Kodlak to rest. She uses Steel arrows - buying them only; she's definitely not a fletcher - and a simple hunting bow. The bow and arrows are only for hunting, as she never really cared to use a bow in battle.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Ástríðr is a no-nonsense woman when on a job or during battle. She doesn't joke until after the fighting's done and thinks smack talk isn't worth a rat turd during a serious fight. However, outside of combat, she enjoys cutting up as much as the next companion. She loves to trash talk the other companions in and out of sparring, and enjoys riling up Aela with wet dog jokes when its just her and the Circle. Despite her rather playful nature, Ástríðr gets easily flustered when flirting is directed her way. If one of her Companions is hurt, she tends to mother them before going out ans slaughtering who/whatever caused their pain.

B I O G R A P H Y
Ástríðr was born and raised in Whiterun. She grew up with the children from both the Battle-born and the Gray-Mane clans. She learned to fight with a sword with the Battle-Borns, was taught smithing by Eorlund, and got to hear all the amazing stories of the Companions with both. She was closest with Alfhild and Jon Battle-born and Olfina Gray-Mane. The four of them went everywhere together; from eating meals in each others' homes, to playing "Companions", to playing mild pranks on the local adults. It wasn't until the Civil War reached Whiterun that Ástríðr was told to chose sides. As both clans started to fight, she washed her hands of all but those three - as they all agreed the feud was stupid. She refused to speak to any of the others, as all they did was complain that she was friends with the other clan.

To get away from the fighting, Ástríðr went adventuring. She had always admired the Companions, and knew she needed experience before she could even think of joining them. She traveled the length and breadth of Skyrim, fighting in bowers, ruins, caves, and even in hot springs (she'd got to be drunk to tell that one). When she returned, she found that her old friends didn't even speak to each other. In addition, the Dragonborn had apparently appeared. Ástríðr ran into the Dragonborn shortly after the Dragonborn was proclaimed Thane. She was awed by the person she saw that day and was even more determined to live up to the legends of such warriors.

Ástríðr joined the Companions that day, rather disappointed to be called "whelp" and sent on minor errands. Still, she worked and worked and worked, until one night, she was approached by Skjor. Ástríðr couldn't believe she was being asked to join the Circle! She jumped at the chance, even if it meant being a werewolf - it meant being closer to those she idolized that the close friends she made. Her only regret after that night was that it led to the death of Skjor - a man she came to respect as much as Kodlak. She worked with Aela to avenge their shield-sibling's death - only to lead to Kodlak's death.

If it wasn't for the slap in the face Vilkas gave her that day, Ástríðr would have most likely quit the Companions and headed off to a Dwemer ruin to die. She didn't, and after slaughtering the Glenmoril witches, she and her shield-siblings freed Kodlak from Hircine's grasp. Ástríðr started to follow in his footsteps, but at the last moment she hesitated - was she ready to give up the power of the Beast Blood? She chose to remain a werewolf for a while longer, but kept the heads of the horrid witches in a chest in her room.

O T H E R

Ástríðr dreams of expanding the influence of the Companions, beyond the borders of Skyrim, but is unsure how. She had a slight crush on Vilkas after joining the companions, but his heated response to her absence during the Silver Hand attack killed any romantic feeling she had for him. She is still friends with him and his brother, as well as Aela and surprisingly Njada. Ástríðr cannot hold her ale - mead and wine are ok - but ale will make her extremely clingy and talkative. Trolls freak her out - it's the eyes - and she secretly loves to gather dragon's tongue flowers. Ástríðr is also looking for a pet dog to travel with her as she's tired of having no answer for the wet dog comments the guards sometimes give after a rainstorm.
