Difficult capture: Similar to the series, the relics are found somewhere in the forest. However these relics are not clumped together in one area at ground level. They are located in the oak trees near a waterfall. Once you hear the roar of running water start looking up. Be mindful of the Nevermore. It's a relentless vulture-like Grimm. It's nest isn't to far.

- Can you see the light? As far as the eyes can see From this point above the world Where mortals dare their destiny. As it radiates May I witness open-eyed Let me remain where there is light.
Into the woods.
Cora flew from the launchpad, feeling as though she had plenty of practice flying from that surface. Her arms were on either side and helped to keep her stable as she went through the air. Her left arm was heavier than her right, just by default and the weight of her collapsed shield. She used this to help guide her path. She cast a glance to the cliffs, where from this distance she could clearly see the the grim that reigned as kings over this forest.
The Nevermore.
A beautiful creature, if very dangerous and territorial. To find the artifacts under the shadow of that large creature's wing would be something was going to be difficult.... It was among the few grim that she did not feel confident fighting. But... that was what teams were for. It was also the very reason she had designed her shield to function as a crossbow.
She turned herself so that her feet would proceed her. She opened her shield and felt it immediately begin to catch air and slow her down. Holding to it, she turned about and tried her landing on one of the branches. She crashed through a few in her attempt to land, but with solid foothold, she was able to leap more gracefully from branch to branch until she had a tree she could comfortably stop at. She held onto the trunk and allowed herself at this stopping point, to breathe.
Then she cast her gaze about, hoping to catch sight of her team mates. She felt that they shouldn't be too far. ~~*~~

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny stared up into the sky as the Nevermore soared over the trees. "Well, this is a fine mess I'm in. Unless I somehow discover that I'm actually a Pegasus, I'm not gonna be able to headbutt that." He groaned. He knew Pyro Jack's fireballs wouldn't go too far, either, so he needed his teammates to help him out. He knew Cora and Iris were still around, but the fourth was a mystery to him. "Well, no use standing around." He said, breaking into a sprint through the forest.
As he charged, though, he had gotten so excited that he'd forgotten to look where he was going, which caused him to ram straight into a tree, right next to the one Cora was by. Since he wasn't wearing Pyro Jack, however, he didn't knock the tree over. In fact, his Semblance made it so his head smashed through the tree bark, having his head pop out the other side unharmed. He squirmed anxiously, trying to shake himself loose. "Ah, s**t. Nice going, Danny." He scolded himself. Spotting a familiar face, he gave a light smile. "Hey, Cora." He said.

Flying into the sky was the island girl with a confidant smile to her. She'd been over this routine many a time before; rush to the cliffs to be launched out into the woods and land safely. With her Achilles Shield spitting winds from out forth Iris used burst of wind the help he travirse the air as if a bunny hopping the plain winds. A large flock of birds flying away in the distance snared the girls attention and the view of the intimidatingly mass Nevermore assumed command of the skies; prompting the girl to quickly lower altitude. Hover hopping on down Iris happened along familiar faces with glee and landed with a hop to her step; tucking away her Achilles Shield soon after. "Here yet again, eh?" Iris then giggled at the main half of Danny from her side of the tree and poked him lightly. "What are you doing in there Danny? It's too early to be training, you'll be hanging enough of that on this mission." She lightly teased , swaying back and forth on her heals. With her friends all here Iris hoped to see their new comrade soon. After reading up a little on her from the profiles provided to her scroll Iris hoped this was going to be an awesomely tight team.

Lord Hedo Daniel Redmond Crane Danny felt Iris poke him, giving a smirk as he thought of a counter. "Oh, nothing much. Just contemplating how vulnerable I am in this position. You know, a handsome young Faunus like me, wedged in tree bark. Imagine the things a Grimm could do to me in this predicament. Or a pretty girl in armor with a lovely singing voice who happens to be a teammate willing to help me out of this tree trunk before I get splinters in places that splinters should never ever go. That works, too. Nudge, nudge, hint, hint." He replied, turning on his infamous Crane charm and wit. AKA, sucking up. "No, but seriously, get me the hell out of here, I can feel termites crawling in the hair of my tail." He added.

Cora began climbing out of the tree when she heard Danny's voice. In the process of getting down, she heard Iris' voice. Immediately, she felt relieved that most of the team had already arrived, or at least were in the same place. She eventually did drop to the ground, and once there, she could recover from the work. She was surprised that it was as much work as it had been, but then again, she wasn't accustomed to climbing. She was strongest when she was on the ground.
Once there, she could see for herself just how badly Danny had gotten himself stuck. Then again... she should have suspected as much when she heard him crash through the poor plant. She couldn't help the slight smile on her face as she shook her head.
"Let's get you out of there, big guy." She circled around the tree and made sure her shield was out. She had a bladed side to the shield that was exceedingly helpful in many situations.... However, she found herself hesitating with the idea of slicing into the tree with her shield. She didn't want to miss and hurt her team-mate. She lifted it to the bark and tried to measure out a good place to swing. When she found a place that wouldn't injure Danny... hopefully.... she drew her arm back, braced her right hand behind her shield arm, and then drove the bronze weapon into the tree. She heard a crack and heard the crack split in two ways, going simultaneously down to the roots and up to where Danny's neck was caught. Hopefully another solid swing would cause the tree to split apart... That would kill the plant, but Danny would be free. ~~*~~

ArianaXXXXNyx_________________________________________________

Tactician | Team LANZ | Age 18
_________________________________________________Ariana had been withdrawn from the forest after such a brief time, the team separated soon after joining up and to the best of her knowledge they'd all been withdrawn as well. Now, upon the launchpad a second time, she gazed down at the forest and breathed out a soft sigh. "Nia, had we not separated do you think we would still have been in that forest?" She asked, Nia merely hooted and nibbled at Ariana's hair while she sat upon the shoulder. "Yes, I suppose we likely would have still been withdrawn. At least I got to stop by the library this time!" She said with a smile as she held a book in her hand while she stood upon the launchpad. After a moment the click could be heard beneath her and she was launched high into the air. The wind blowing heavily as she sailed through the air, she seemed entirely unphased as she flipped through page after page, reading "The Collected Encyclopedia of Grimm Mythologies". After a moment however she expanded her aura and fed it into Nia who rapidly grew in size while holding onto Ariana's shoulders until she was as large as Ariana herself. With the new-found strength gained from Ariana's aura, Nia could easily sustain her weight and slowly descended to the ground safely. With her sharp eyes, Nia spotted a group of people who had gathered, and safely assumed they must be the group which Ariana was intending to meet up with. Not that Ariana had taken notice, she was far too enthralled with her book to care about anything now. So, with Nia supporting her, Ariana touched down beside the group just as she flipped to the next page of a substantially large book. "Oh we've landed?" She said, returning to reality as she looked around out of her book, with Nia hooting and pecking her head. "Ow ow ow!!! OKAY! I got it! No more reading while falling... can't promise it though..." She added with a slight smirk as Nia returned to her normal adorable puffball sized owl shape and hooted out a greeting to those around. "OH!" Ariana swiftly turned her gaze on the trio before her. "Hello...?" It almost seemed like a scene of some sort of murder movie, person's head stuck while about to be cleaved off. Yet she tilted her head a bit, in a very owl like fashion as she noticed the other half on the other side of the tree. Nia followed suit in tandem perfectly. "Well...that's not a sight you see every day... Um maybe I can help?" She said with a smile as she walked over to the tree. "I'm Ariana by the way, Ariana Nyx. This is Nia, my companion. Now..."She rested her hand on the tree and gave Danny a comforting smile. Flickering blue flames emanated around her hand and danced about before spinning around her hand rapidly picking up speed. Then by pressing her palm below where his neck was she compressed the flickering blue flames into the wood and caused it to shatter as if it had been blasted by a gun. A compressed version of her Soul flicker, however incredibly destructive even in that form. However given how little she put behind it, the bark was stripped away and the weakened side from the shield swing had also been blasted off allowing him the ability to pull his head out without toppling the tree. Though the tree likely wasn't to survive this endeavor even if it hadn't fallen. "There we go, one free head. But how in the world did you manage that...?" She added with a soft chuckle as she withdrew her hand from the tree. _________________________________________________

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny watched as Cora and Ariana worked together to give him a way out of the tree. Seeing that Ariana busted the tree, Danny was able to slip his head through the hole and regain his balance, brushing any stray wood or bugs off of him. "Thanks, guys. I gotta look before I run next time." He admitted, scratching his head sheepishly. Looking to Ariana, he smiled. "I knew that name was familiar. You're our new teammate, right? I'm Danny. Danny Crane." He introduced himself.

Iris KenmasutāRansurotto: [Inactive] [Active] Achilles Shield: [Inactive] [Active] Dust capsule: [Fire:2] [Water:2] [Wind:2] [Lightning:2] [Earth:2] [Ice:2] [Poison:2] [Darkness:2] [Light:2] [None]Semblance: Supporting Enhancements (strong); [Inactive] [Active] [Attack to:], [Defense to:]. [Speed to:], [Health to:], [Special attack to:], [Special defense to:] Equilibrium (weak); [Inactive] [Active] [Healing to], [Replenishing to] It was totally nice to be seeing her friends on the same team again, and more so that Danny's slapstick would be keeping them company. Things seemed like they were going to be just fine but now all that was needed their final member and to get Danny in a proper situation "...Nudge, nudge, hint, hint." "Let's get you out of there, big guy." "Please do help him Cora, I don't want to deal with this batch of french cries over his "compromising pose"." Iris rolled her eyes and with a turn of her heals she crossed her arms over her chest. She thought her "pose" was much worse of a situation and this one; her cheeks the shade of a sun dried tomato. With Cora making her turn around the tree's trunk Iris took a step back, being sure to stand beside another sturdy looking tree, and with a well aimed swing of her bladed shield Cora cracked the mighty evergreen. "Nice going Cora! Now all we need is- Who is that?" Iris' demeanor switched from cheery to chary at the moment she seen what looked like an angle being gently delivered down by her guardian familiar. Iris' eye glowed with a child like wonder as she sheepishly watched their last teammate join them. "Oh we've landed?"
What once looked graceful quickly lost its shine as it wings melted on the seance. "Ow ow ow!!! OKAY! I got it! No more reading while falling... can't promise it though..." The owl hooted...what looked like a humble hello to the team, and shrunk to a more normal size while its silver haired master begins to notice the team. "OH!...Hello...?" "Umm. . .Hi!" Iris' smile returning to her, the island girl greeted the scholarly sliver haired girl with a cheerful bow. That humble owl examined "the vulnerable and handsome young Faunus" as did its master but all the while Iris steadily checking out the elysian familiar with wonder in her eyes; imagining the ghost story of moonlight phantom with every moment. "Well...that's not a sight you see every day... Um maybe I can help? "I'm Ariana by the way, Ariana Nyx. This is Nia, my companion. Now..." Resting her hand upon the damaged tree Ariana smiled at Danny, which was fine, before blue flames like will-o'-wisp spun around the silver haired girl's wrist. Boom! Danny was free and Iris was relived that Ariana's semblance didn't happen to harm Danny; judging by the clean hole blasted away in the tree's trunk.
As Ariana began talking with Danny, Iris leaned over to whisper to Cora "She's a pretty one, isn't she?" Iris complementing their new teammate under her breath. "I've got a good feeling about this team, don't you Cora?" After Danny introduced himself Iris chipperly waved her hand at Ariana and with her sweet voice she said, "My name is Iris Kenmasutā. It's a pleasure to meat you Ariana."

Cora withdrew enough from the tree to let what was left of the work be done by the arrival of their fourth member. Now together in one place, their odds of success for this mission increased to a favorable percentage. Cora didn't consider herself a judge for appearances, preferring instead to see how a person acted and what their character proved in their words before making decisions one way or another. However, seeing how quickly this cheery gal lent her assistance and introduced herself, Cora felt that she could agree with Iris' confidence. This would be a good team-up.
It was soon after the pink-tinged brunette introduced herself that the shield-wielder gave a nodding bow and made sure to introduce herself also. "I am Cora Duncan. Thank you for helping to get Daniel out of the tree."
It still surprised her that he had managed to go through a tree and get stuck in its trunk in the first place. It was another wonder that it was still upright.... It probably wouldn't survive the season, if Cora had to guess... Then again, it would be a good home for some squirrels or coon family. ~~*~~

ArianaXXXXNyx_________________________________________________ Tactician | Team LANZ | Age 18 _________________________________________________Ariana nodded lightly as this faunus person was able to pry his head out from the tree though she frowned lightly as Daniel hadn't actually explained just how he managed to get his head wedged through a tree. "It's nice to meet you Dan, however "looking where you run" isn't an acceptable explanation as to just how you managed it... A normal person does not merely run their head through solid wood, let alone the diameter of a hearty tree such as this." However she merely shook her head a bit and lightly as she suspected she wouldn't get a proper explanation. She lifted her hand and softly scratched beneath Nia's beak who emitted a gentle coo in appreciation to Ariana's affection. However Nia's happy coos stopped when she spotted the whispering between Iris and Cora, emitting a hoot as she scooted across Ariana's shoulder and watched, no stared at Iris for a moment. Nia's calling attention to Iris caused Ariana's lilac gaze to shift towards the first person to have spoken after the faunus. The young lady who bore what appeared to be armor of a feudal nature, Iris. Though upon a glance, Ariana couldn't quite understand just how much protection such armor could actually lend in situations concerning battling Grimm. Then again, she knew not the composition and she certainly wasn't one to judge one's defensive capabilities. After all, she opted to not wear armor in the slightest as it actually mitigated how well she could manifest and control her aura. Unnecessary thoughts aside, Ariana bowed her head slightly in response to Iris' greeting while Nia happily fluttered around and landed on Ariana's opposite shoulder. "A pleasure Iris. I'm suspecting by your attire you prefer to fight up close? I merely ask because I do enjoy knowing what we have available to us as to whenever we need a strategy." She smiled as her gaze shifted to the third person who'd spoken. She found this person a bit more difficult to gauge than Iris. She didn't wear armor much as one would expect of a close range combatant of sorts, however she wielded a shield which she was very clearly quite proficient in. Could it possibly be another weapon as well? After all, hers was presently hidden within her jacket and in it's compressed rapier form and out of sight, but it too could shift into a sentient shield so that she could safely utilize her primary attacking ability. "Well met Cora, and it was my pleasure, though..." She glanced at the tree where Cora had struck the tree and the damage she'd managed to cause. "...To actually split the tree so well in what I can only assume was one strike given how clean the cut into the word is is quite incredible. Either you've got excellent eyes and detected the weak point of the wood, or incredibly strong... Possibly even both." Ariana smiled lightly as she chuckled. "Please don't take this the wrong way if I am incorrect, but you don't appear to have the physique of someone with tremendous strength... I'm suspecting then it may have been the latter, are you an archer by chance?" She spoke in an even and gentle tone as Nia flew off Ariana's shoulder and proceeded to flutter around the group, inevitably landing on Ariana's outstretched hand. "Sorry if I seem a bit investigative, I fancy myself a bit of a tactician and I truly dislike being unprepared for any situation that might arise..." She chuckled lightly as Nia slowly walked up Ariana's arm, and back up onto her shoulder while Ariana turned her gaze to Daniel. "Daniel, I'm sorry I hadn't asked, what would your specialty be?" She inquired as Nia nestled in close to Ariana's neck and hooted softly. "I hope we are able to complete our mission swiftly... I just borrowed this book from the library and I've almost finished it..." She realized that she had still been holding the book in her other hand and proceed to slip it into a pocket within her jacket. However how she managed it was beyond the limits of what would deem possible, given that the book was easily several hundred pages long yet she pocketed it as if it were nothing. She was so used to carrying books around she'd fashioned large fortified pockets inside of her jacket so she could carry them around with her at all times without an issue. On average, aside from her mother's journal, she typically carried no fewer than three books with her at all times. As her jacket fluttered back to normal, a silver device could be seen momentarily within her jacket which appeared to look very much like a rapier handle without a blade. _________________________________________________ OOC: Nyaaa I'm sorry I'd have written more, but i'm not feelin' all too well. However I took come creative liberties with her weapon, given that many of the weapons in RWBY have a passive form while inactive, I figured hers likely would as well. It wouldnt' do to walk around with a sword as tall as she is all the time after all lol

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny gave a light chuckle. "Call me Danny. Daniel just makes me feel old, and I don't have grey hairs in my tail just yet. Maggots from the tree, maybe, but no grey hairs." He joked. "Well, ya see, my semblance, or one of them, rather, makes my head and spine indestructible for a short time, meaning I can headbutt through almost anything." He said. "Good thing, too, since I mainly fight with my head...oh, and this." He said, pulling out Pyro Jack. The oversized pumpkin helmet was as goofy and terrifying as ever, spikes and all. "Oh, and it has a flamethrower." He added with a grin.

Cora nodded, quietly surprised at the deductive capacity of their newest member. She found herself agreeing more strongly with Iris' opinion that this would be a good team. To answer the analysis, Cora lifted her shield and turned it about. With a careful turn, the shield began to shrink and most of it appeared to relax, except for the bladed section of the shield, which moved from the side of the shield to the front, which would be just beyond her knuckles and mounted on the arm-brace that fastened her shield to her arm. The segmented metal pieces moved to reveal a chord that pulled back and behind a section that appeared able to hold a rod up to a centimeter in diameter. Another deft movement of her hand set a rod of dust that gleamed gently red and gold was set into this crossbow.
"My semblance.... makes me stronger when I'm on the ground." She smiled slightly, proud to show the craftsmanship of her shield and bow. It was a work that took her months. It was hers and it served her well. "I'm not incredibly strong, but I can handle myself as long as I'm grounded. As for the weakness... trees are weaker if you follow the grain when you make a blow. That's up and down, so..."
She smiled shyly and removed the bolt from her crossbow, setting it into the secure bag at her side. Then she returned the bronze weapon to its shield form, which was a process that only took a few moments. ~~*~~

[Speed to:], [Health to:], [Special attack to:], [Special defense to:] Equilibrium (weak); [Inactive] [Active] [Healing to], [Replenishing to] The girl came across as very humble and as such it unconsciously obliged the island girl to bow as she would back on her home island; when her father would welcome foreign diplomats and the like. As if moving long silk sleeves of a lavish dress that was not there, with her hands clasped together and a very reformed pose Iris bowed in return to Ariana's gentle greeting. "You are perceptive, Ariana." Iris noted with gaiety. "I do best in up-close combat but I'm also a support unit. I'm able to replenish others' health or aura and supply teammates with an added boost of one of my own attributes; whether it be physical or spiritual." Iris openly explained a little about herself. Iris was akin to Ariana in the ideology that knowing ones team makes for better strategies; which leads to more successfully missions.
Iris began to wonder if the Ariana had been on a team before as things seemed to be going very smoothly. Maybe it was the fact that she reads books which led Ariana to rightly word what thoughts collected in her mind. Having seen glint at Ariana's hip Iris curiously wondered about Ariana's own fighting preference. She has mentioned shes a tactician but where among the field dose she prefer to view the battlefield from? Her brother would usually be at the head of the pack and called out the orders as needed but what was Ariana's style? Judging from her lack of heavy armor Iris thought Ariana to be maybe a distant fighter. She had her familiar which came in useful but what was this captivating bird of pray capable of doing? With everyone able to have their turn talking with Ariana Iris hopped in a little closer to everyone. "Hey, did anyone else see the Nevermore while coming down to land?... I feel like maybe we should take this convo to-go." The Island girl suggested, her eyes occasionally glancing up for any sighting of the king of bird like Grimm.
