Family/friend(s)/allies with: Irene does not know if she has any other living family members, although both her parents and her stepmother are dead.
History: Irene's mother came from the Kingdom of Lux, though her father was from Nocte. Only a few months after Irene was born, the discord between Nocte and Lux had grown even more, as well as the people of Lux's resentment towards those who were Marked. The plan of Irene's mother and father, was for them both to run away together to the Kingdom of Seve. The villagers of Lux had already heard of the Marked child Irene being born, and they wanted to get rid of her. Just before Irene's parents were about to leave the two Kingdoms with her, they were discovered by soldiers of both Lux and Nocte. A battle broke out that day, and her parents both fought to the death protecting her. Nearly everyone involved in the violent battle that day did not live to tell the tale of it. After the battle cleared, a traveling merchant by the name of Emora soon came to the sight. Emora was a woman of Seve, who then found Irene as a baby and decided to raise her on her own. This woman was also a magic user, who taught Irene how to manage her powers as she grew up. Once Irene was fifteen, her stepmother Emora grew ill and no matter how hard Irene tried, she was unable to heal her. After Emora passed away, Irene spent all her time teaching herself how to fight. It was then that a traveling group of assassins found Irene. Seeing her powers as useful and seeing how skilled she was with weapons, they decided to allow her to join them. The assassins worked anonymously and mainly did all undercover work between the Kingdoms, often commissioned by those in the royal courts. During her work, Irene gained the nickname of 'The Golden Shadow', which also helped to hide her identity. Her true goal is to end the feud between both Lux and Nocte, and make it so that those who are Marked are accepted in Lux. Irene's most recent task was one appointed in secret by the Queen of Lux herself. No one else knows of this, and Irene will never share what this particular task is.
Personality: Irene, being born of both the dark and the light, seems to reflect these two elements in many ways with her personality. Though she may seem cold and serious from the outside, she is extremely loyal and kind to anyone who may get close to her. However, it is rare of Irene to get close to most people, as she is very good at keeping secrets. Her Mark is one of those secrets, that she keeps hidden at all times depending on whatever Kingdom she is in. Whenever she does encounter people, if it suits the situation then she will often go to the extent of hiding her name, and instead going by the alternate name of Lillian. Irene is careful to hide her true intentions, although ultimately it is that of helping to bring safety to those whoever is treated wrongly for being Marked, and to end the feud between Nocte and Lux. Though Irene works in secret with Syrena, in truth she dislikes both Kingdoms equally and blames both sides for causing the death of her parents. However no matter how spiteful Irene may be, she will not hesitate to offer help to someone who needs it. She also tends to be very thoughtful in most situations and is a strategic thinker.
Weapon(s): Irene usually carries many weapons with her. The most common ones she uses is either two fans (seen in the photo), that have blades on the end of them, or two twin kodachi. In addition to that, Irene also carries a katana with her, along with a very small crossbow that shoots poison arrows.
Strengths: Irene is very strategic and is clever when it comes to lying or manipulating. She also knows how to use a number of weapons and is skilled at using her Enchantment powers to strengthen them or to summon shields. In terms of movement, Irene is very agile and acrobatic. Both the light and darkness elements are strong in her and are reflected in her powers, though she rarely ever uses these because it can also be quite risky.
Weaknesses: Irene usually sticks to using only her Enchantment based powers in battle, because of the risks involved in using her light and darkness based powers. These two opposing elements are so strong within her that if she doesn't have the proper control over them, they can both backfire and cause her immense physical pain.
Additional Information: Irene currently works as a lone assassin. Though not a single other person knows of this, Queen Syrena recently appointed Irene to act as a spy in Nocte, and to gain information on whatever their plans are. However, a royal adviser of Nocte has also unknowingly appointed Irene to do the same thing, in terms of her acting as a spy to provide information on Lux. In a sense, Irene works for both sides, though her ultimate goal is to end the feud between the two Kingdoms, and to bring safety to all who are Marked. Due to her being a magic user, her blood is the color of gold.
