Hey everyone! So, as you all had hopefully read in Zelda's announcement, this topic will be on updates for the story so far. I will do my best on this first update, so just bare with me if I mess up on it or forget something! The goal of this is to inform everyone the general idea of what has happened with the story thus far, and I plan to do this every week so everyone will be reminded of what has happened. As for the time being PLEASE DO NOT reply to this post. This is merely to be used as a source of information. If you have any questions about what's going on in detail, please PM the other captains or myself. We'd be more than happy to answer them!
SO! Now for the story update! After the prologue where everyone was waking up in the room and trying to find their way out, Master Hand and Crazy Hand revealed the reason why they had been brought here. They had planned for a game to be played against their will. The hands shook the place down from it's walls and took both Zelda and Ike from the confused bunch and forced them to fight. They made Ike strike down Zelda in their fight which had trapped her in a trophy to try and help explain their game to the heroes, also while fueling their sick and twisted desire for chaos and conflict by causing grief and dismay amongst the group. To make it even further twisted, they had taken Link and made him fight Ike, knowing that Link would be filled with anger for what Ike had done to Zelda even though it was against his will.
As Link and Ike had began fighting each other while the hands sat back and enjoyed their pre-game, the rest of the more or less heroes have been trying to break the barrier that keeps the hands and their current pawns separate from the rest of the group. Although they have certainly put some good wear and tear on that barrier with their various attacks and powers, the barrier still holds itself up rather well. What makes this task even more difficult is the personal conflicts between them, such as Mario and Bowser or Pit and Dark Pit.
Will they find a way to break the barrier and stop the Hands from their sick game of chess, or will the Hands succeed like the puppet masters they are and pull the strings to make everyone fight against each other? Will Ike and Link be completely taken over to fight each other to the last man standing? Either way, it seems they will have to play on the Hand's terms. But who knows? Perhaps the heroes can set their differences aside and work together to break the fight between Link and Ike, and set Zelda free from her stone-like imprisonment. Or will Ike and Link find a way to turn their fight towards the hands? The outcome of this story depends on all of you! Will you play the game, or will you let the game play you?
