It had been dawn when Chandra felt he had the courage to go into the forest of Jauhar and look for Eira and her troupe. It had been misting that morning, a very light rain that soon cleared off as he approached the village of Neued. To say that he was nervous was perhaps an understatement. Checking and rechecking that the trinket was in his pocket, paranoid that it would manage to drop on the trek there.
He had requested his brother look after Awen while he was gone, and he hoped his brother would stay home out of his respect for their earlier conversation. It still made him worrisome as he neared Neued though, what if the troupe had left? The first thing he would have to do is question the villagers and hope they had some information. Shaking the lingering water off his cloak he looked about locating the nearest person who was working and inquired about the troupes whereabouts.
It had taken a few people before he pieced together the whereabouts of the troupe his heart relieved as his anxiety passing on the idea they may of already left the area. Now a new anxiety came up as he was going to give Eira the gift. Swallowing he couldn't help but find himself a reflective service and check himself over a couple times, smoothing out his hair, checking that his attempt at a beard was okay and then feeling a moment of intense panic...
What if she laughed at him? There was such a gap in their ages that he never considered she may just think him being a cute child. No..he would just have to convince her of it otherwise. Yes. Sighing he put the bracelet he had been fiddling with back in his pocket and then went to where the troupe had allegedly set up camp. Apparently they were trying to build an inn here and that...made him hopeful. It meant he could see her more often if they were sticking to one location.
Coming across the site he looked around, trying to find his goddess amongst the tents and lumber that had been gathered. Clearing his throat he tried to call out her name but found the word garbled in his throat due to a sudden shyness.
Eira looked around the area that they had claimed as their own with the help of a couple that Gyuri had met a short time ago. It was a lovely spot, one that she could see as being their new home, and it was something that had her smiling brightly just thinking about it. All that they had to do now was... well, all the hard work. Here she'd thought that the hardest part was going to be to find the area that they were going the build the inn on. Instead it appeared now as though that were the easiest part. Gathering what they needed to build the inn was going well enough with everyone helping. Even more so with Gyuri using his pet capramel to help drag the supplies in to the area as well.
Turning slowly to look amongst the tents she gave a thoughtful sound. They had a good sized group of people. Their core members, those like Falwyn who had joined and were learning from other members of the group, and a few others that had joined for various other reasons and took on various other jobs. Some where troupe members, others helping out as more guards who were under the command of Gyuri and Sin'qua, the group was a decent size now, meaning that they had a lot of hands to help out with the building of the inn, her inn, and they were her group. It was something that made her heart soar just thinking about it.
Turning she was about to call out for Gyuri when she heard someone half call out in a manner that sounded a bit choked. Turning slowly she looked in the direction of the odd call and saw someone she wasn't really expecting. Turning around toward the young man she started to walk toward him, her jewelry jingling as she approached him, "Hello there, Chandy." She said in a welcoming tone, "Come to join my little troupe? New members are more then welcome so long as you're willing to help build the inn along with everyone else."
Chandy. A nickname that would normally make him want to punch a person who dared called him something so childish and yet when it was uttered from her lips...it seemed perfectly natural. All that nervousness suddenly overflowed and it was like his brain melted at just the sight of her...looking up he tried not to stare and look into her eyes instead.
"Ah..." He began trying to recall words and how they worked in the real world. A stupid expression on his face like a love smitten spitorog. Shaking his head slowly as he realized he may start drooling soon he ran a hand through his hair nervously.
"Ah..ha...no..not exactly...y..you loo..k..b..beautiful.." Chandra stuttered like a moron cursing himself as he was not being nearly as cool as he wanted to be. In fact he was doing exactly the opposite..and being quite a kid about it all. Trying to find his bravery or at least his anger to harness some sense of calm headedness he cleared his throat. "So..y..your troupe is setting up her...here?" Chandra asked trying to make conversation.
Tilting her head to one side, one hand resting on her hip, she watching the boy as he struggled with his words. It was kind of cute, the way that his words seemed to get blurted out and made no real sense. It was cute though, wasn't it? Giving a soft laugh she said, "Thank you, Chandy, I am glad to hear that I am still looking beautiful despite the fact that I have been working so hard lately." She reached out a hand to ruffle his hair gently, then smiled.
"Hm? Oh, yes, this will be where our inn is going to stand. Well, one day at least. It's a pretty big job, but given enough time it will be a beautiful place." She couldn't wait, wanting nothing more then to see her dream of an inn, one staffed by her troupe, realized. It would still take some time but it was something that she was looking forward to. Now that she thought about it though he'd said 'not exactly' wen it came to joining the troupe. A shame to that he wasn't planning to stay, she felt they could use more cute boys to fill out the ranks of the troupe. Given he didn't seem as though he was here to join she couldn't help but to wonder what brought him here.
Giving the boy her best smile she asked, "So if not to join us, why did you come, Chandy? Just a visit?"
Chandra found his brain which had been running a million miles a minute suddenly had churned to a stop. Dragging its feet now in conversation he was looking more stupid as the time went past. When she ruffled his hair he felt elated and irritated. It was something a grown up did to children or close friends, and he was beginning to think she saw him in the prior rather than later. The contact though still made him want to melt regardless.
Clearing his throat again he had to speak otherwise she was just going to think he was strange and perhaps a stalker.
"That is really great to hear, I was worried your troupe would be gone and.I wouldn't be able to see you again." Chandra admitted if a bit daringly hoping by flirting slightly she would get that he was interested in her, his face though was blushing as he spoke to her and he was very glad that Awen was safe at home right now. "AH...well did you have a moment to spare? I was hoping I could talk to you more..privately." The young man requested as he didn't want to get her the gift out in plain view of anyone who could waltz by.
"Well, this is where we will be from now on, so we should be easy enough for you to find." Eira said, giving him a smile, "That is sort of the point, for people to be able to find us easily, which should mean a lot of visitors which is what I am looking forward to. Once the get our inn set up that is." Something that made her smile just thinking about it. She meant to make her inn the most popular one around no matter how much work it took to get it there.
As Chandra suddenly asked her if she had a moment to spare, commenting on how he wanted to talk to her privately. It was something that caused her to pause for a moment before she nodded, "I am sure that we could have a nice chat. How about you come walk with me, Chandy, and we can chat as we go." She invited him with a smile, motioning to him to follow along after her. There wasn't anywhere in the area that was perfectly empty or completely private, meaning that the closest they could get was walking around. This way she would also be able to be found if anyone really needed her for something.
Licking it lower upper lip quickly he nodded his head and began to walk with Eira in the direction she wanted to go in. He stopped though as soon as he started and then after gathering a large amount courage offered her his arm in a gentlemanly like fashion. Chandra swore that his face was the same color as the sun as it felt just as hot as he imagined it could be. He would much rather take her hand but that seemed to cross a line he wasn't brave enough to venture through. Besides he had no idea what she thought of him beyond...being nice and using cute nicknames for him.
"I..hope you .get it built quickly..th..then i could find you easily next time.." he managed with a cough as he tried to avoid eye contact. His extended arm still out for her to take..
Eira couldn't help but to give a little chuckle as the young man offered her his arm, seeming as though he were intent upon being her escort for the walk that they were talking. She considered for a moment before taking the offered arm, "You really are too sweet, aren't you, Chandy?" This really did made her day, how cute he was acting, but then again she seemed to be quite good at ruffling the feathers of men around her, something that she often took pride in. Still, it was nice to see in action, especially the way that he was blushing so brightly.
"I am with you on that one, Chandy, I hope the inn is up and running soon too." It was comfortable enough sleeping in the tents she supposed, but the idea that she might be able to get a nice bed sometime soon, that was likely what she was looking forward to the most out of everything. Not that she would admit that out loud, not wanting to seem as though she was weak or something. No, she would keep that little secret to herself. As the two of them started to walk along, sticking near to the camp that Gyuri wouldn't worry about her, but far enough off that they had some form of privacy, "Once it's up and running, even before, you're welcome to visit if you like."
Feeling her skin touch against his Chandra's step faltered for a moment, like a misstep on a loose stone he felt like a moron. How could he be so nervous around her? Was it because she was so pretty? So mature? Was it because he so desperately wanted her to return his feelings for her? Sure he didn't know a single thing about her, and just knew she was beautiful. He loved her laugh, her smile...her brea...s..
Clearing his throat he never imagined that his tastes would...go in that direction. But at the same time it was hard to ignore those beauties. He nearly died of course when she invited him to come watch whenver he wanted even if the inn wasn't built yet.
"Ah...." Words died in his brain. They never even made it passed the sudden mental blockade and rush of hormones. "IfyouneedhelpIcandoit.justnameitanything." Came the sudden rush of words flying out of his mouth.
Eira's eyes went a little wide with surprised when Chandra went from struggling with his words to saying all of the words in one long string. She blinked a couple times then gave a soft laugh, "Thank you, Chandy, I will keep the offer in mind for sure." She told him, patting the arm that she was holding onto with one hand. He really was sweet offering her the help, something might just take him up on if the need for help that he could offer arose. He was young yet but still he seemed quite motivated, which in and of itself could be quite useful.
Continuing the walk Eira watched her companion closely for a moment before asking, "How have you been since we last met, Chandy? It's been a while it seems, at least long enough for you to get yourself a beard it would seem." Had it really been that long? A while she supposed, their last meeting having been at the tail end of the war, something she was glad to see end. She gave a thoughtful sound then said, "How have you been spending your time?" Perhaps asking him some direct questions would help him as far as making it easier to for him to talk in a less rushed manner? She supposed she'd see soon enough if the idea panned out.
