Tessa sighed as she waited by the launch pads on the cliffs, shifting nervously from fot to foot as the wind blew her snowy whte hair around as she looked out over the sea of greenery that was the forest.
Only her first day in Beacon and she was already being paired up with a team, not even a chance to get some food or anything.
She sighed as she lifted one of her long sleeves and looked at her dormant weapons shrunk into a pair of large, plated arm guards before looking back at the forest.
As her stomach growled Tess wondered just how long she would be waiting

Tessa remained silent despite the soft sound of footsteps (which to her hunting trained ears might as well have been stomping ) and kept her eyed trained on the forest
"It's rude to stare you know" she said quietly after she felt the newcomer' s eyes on her. She looked down at him, bright red eyes peering through her bangs as she covered her chest with one arm.
"I don't particularly like it, whether it's my horn or my breasts, you should least ask permission first before staring or touching, especially the latter."

A small", distressed whine escaped Tess as she looked back to the forest. Great, not even five minutes and she'd already made a bad impression. Nice job Tessa.
"Apologies" she muttered "My family's had a big celebration after I got accepted to beacon, immediately followed by a customary ritual. Because of it I've been fasting for three days now and won't get to eat until my first mission is complete"
The faunus girl sighed and rolled up one of her long sleeveless so she could scratch the tip of her nose
"Also, I get stared st a lot, either because of my complexion, my height, my horn or may chest. It's a bad habit of mine to tell people not to stare. I didn't mean to come off as rude."

"It's not so much about us being faunus as it is about my family being really stuck in the old traditions as part of our culture. Originally they were all human and are one of the oldest clans of hunters, though somewhere down the line they bred with faunus and now its almost all we are. "
She rubbed the back of her head and sighed "See...mine is an old fashioned matriarchal family that clings to the ways of old and prides itself on producing strong hunters, and we do. From a young age we're taught the basics of fighting and when we turn ten we're initiated into most honored circle of the family if we prove worthy against the current chief in battle."
Tess looked down at the bandaged boy
"I've been trained to hunt, track ,survive and kill grimm, compared to my training three days of fasting isnt an issue. It's meant as a rite of passage, show determination by focusing on nothing but training, then once we kill our first quarry with our chosen team we feast in celebration. The fasting is meant to prove my determination and empty my belly for the feast"
Despite her somewhat confident tone Tess placed a hand on her growling belly and knitted her eyebrows together with concern.
"I'm Tessa..by the way"

Tess tilted her head at the sound of a new voice and turned to see a pretty, yellow eyed girl dressed in a gorgeous dress walking toward them.
"Um....Tessa Ailbhe , White Rhino type faunus." The giant albino' s spirits lifted a little now that she was around someone of her own kind. With one hand she lifted one of her long sleeves to reveal her weapons in their dormant form as plated arm guards "And these are the titans."
At the remark of there being a large number of Grimm Tessa smiled a bit, battle was where she felt at home.
"More Grimm means more fun and more glory, as my mother would say. Besides, the number of Grimm isn't our concern so much as the level of Grimm. Twenty Beowulf aren't as dangerous as say two or three deathstalkers"

Amused by her fellow faunus' spirit, Sanuye hummed in agreement while carefully eyeing the, currently, only human on the team. "Elijah," she nodded in his direction, "Tessa," and then in hers, "I hope we and our missing member shall get along finely." Taking into consideration their varying input, she found herself smiling slightly wider in a mix of relief and excitement - so far, they seemed more than capable of handling themselves. Capable teammates made for a capable team.

"I'd suggest a meeting point or a call of some sort so we can all meet," she said, drawing up images of the layout in her head. "While this would be an excellent vantage point for me, as I could square off sections of the Grimm with Rusty, that is not to be." For a second, she almost sounded fondly exasperated by the idea of being launched off the pads into the middle of a Grimm-filled forest. Oh wait! She was. The humming of the blood in her veins started to effect her eyes and hair, which started to take on a more vibrant tone - eyes reddening and hair shifting to a passionate sunset red-orange. Swiping her tongue out to lick at her lips, Sanuye struggled to recall the color changes so that she'd maintain her more muted colors, something far more appropriate for their situation.

"Have either of you met our stray member?" she asked, running a hand through her hair. Honestly, she just wanted to start!
