Statistics
Your statistics (also known as 'stats') can be found under your Profile in the menu. At the start of SAO, you will be given [15] points to spend in any way you like, though it is highly suggested you invest in the stat(s) that closely relates to your class (i.e. mages are more likely to invest in INT than they are P-ATK). Each level you gain hereafter will grant you [3] points to spend on your stats.
Passive Gains, Active Input?
Certain stats will grow faster naturally than other stats, depending on your class. For instance, a Berserker will gain P-ATK naturally with every level up. This is called "passive growth" where that particular stat will grow on its own. Active input allows you to add "free points" into wherever you see fit, so customization is still an option for players.
Two points will be added to a class's "primary stat" upon every level up. Three "free points" may be spent however the players wishes.
Tip
We would strongly suggest you increase your primary stat by [5] points in the beginning, then spend another [3] points to what you deem as a secondary stat. The remaining points will be equally divided to each stat by [1] point. Thus using up the whole [15] points. Though you are free to spend the points however you like, that includes leaving a stat with no points at all while placing the whole [15] points into a single stat.
Statistics Better Explain
So what exactly does each stat mean? How does each one affect my character?
Each stat provides bonuses to certain characteristics for a player. The below explains what each stat increases:

So what exactly does each stat mean? How does each one affect my character?
Each stat provides bonuses to certain characteristics for a player. The below explains what each stat increases:
- Health (HP) - How much health a player has. You do not need to spend points in this section. To increase your health, you spend points on (CON).
Mana (MP) - How much mana a player has. You do not need to spend points in this section. To increase your health, you spend points on (INT).
Physical Attack (P-ATK) - Increases the player's physical damage output. The higher this is, the more melee/physical damage the player can do.
Physical Defense (P-DEF) - Increases the player's physical defense. The higher this is, the less damage they take from melee/physical attacks.
Magic Attack (M-ATK) - Increases the player's magical damage output. The higher this is, the more magical damage the player can do with spells.
Magic Defense (M-DEF) - Increases the player's magical defense. The higher this is, the less magical damage the player takes from spells and/or magic-based attacks.
Constitution (CON) - Increases the player's base health. When points are placed in this stat, health increases by [5] per point.
Intelligence (INT) - Increases the player's base mana. When points are placed in this stat, mana increases by [5] per point.
Speed (SPD) - This stat is commonly confused with (EVA). This stat determines how quickly a player can charge up another attack. The higher the speed, the faster s/he will consecutively execute attacks/defends.
Evasion (EVA) - Separate from (SPD), the above stat does not influence this. Increases dodge rates. The higher this stat, the higher the chance for the enemy's attack to miss.
Accuracy (ACC) - Increases the success rate for hits to land. Also increases the effectiveness of passive-type skills and buffs/debuffs.
