Where do you go to find patterns for your craft making?

And what kind of patterns are you looking for there?

Most time visiting ravelry
or just my books at home.
Sometimes I ask members of my knittinggroup.

I look up both. Knit and crochetstuff.
Mostly if I have something special on my mind trying to find a matching pattern.
Sometimes I browse the patterns only for inspiration.

google image search for what I want to make, then some application of google-fu to try and find a free version of the pattern (if it isn't already free)

usually end up on a blog, ravelry or lionbrand I think. Or *cough* 'finding' a book that has that pattern 3nodding

My search for patterns lately has been very requests driven or based on what I know someone will like.

Usually I start out on Google, but these days those searches inevitably lead to Pinterest where of course you get stuck looking at and pinning a whole bunch of other stuff as well. Once upon it time, it was always crochetpatternscentral or freepatterns.com.

It's not a bad thing though. Not everyone is on Ravelry, so through Pinterest I've found some patterns I'd have never known about otherwise. Now to learn to use Pinterest 'responsibly'. ^_^

For crochet I always start on Ravelry.

For sewing/kids crafts I start on pinterest

I love Red Heart and Lion Brand for free patterns. I also love Etsy, Ravelry, and I adore Pinterest. But like, Dana I seem to get caught up in pinning instead of finding patterns. lol.

I usually see something not on the above mentioned places and then go there to find a similar pattern. I never know where I'll get inspired about a certain style/piece. Gaia even inspired me to make a hat. *needs to update gallery desperately*
