It was a lovely day, with the sun shining and the sky was cloudless... WRONG! Just kidding, it was a glorious day, and that was just making the mood of one individual complicated. Murky orange eyes glared up at the hot sun that laid over head as she stood in the distant shade watching the steam from the morning's dew rise. Stomping the ground with a green hoof, her own green self blended into the greenery quite nicely, her dull black wings looking like a murky shadow. Grim snorted as she trudged out of her hiding place, dragging a strangely bent stick with her. Her 'scythe' as it were, along the curved end there was a thick layer of dried and what looked like fresh blood...
Stretching her wings away from her back, the murky colored mare took a leaping take off into the sky, her scythe dragging her head down a little before she could swing it up into a better hold and she took off. Those murky eyes glanced down towards the earth wondering just where everyone was hiding. It had been a while since she had taken a soul from anything larger than the rodents who thought her dwelling could be home. She needed new blood, something who could make her day less.... Gloomy...

Xiaodan stretches his burnished gold wings out as he clicks his silvery beak while peering out at the 'kingdom' down below from where he have set his roost within a near distance of his parents (but just enough so they can have their own privacy and he can have his own), and the first thing came into his is it is a glorious day for a running! Sure, he can fly but he prefers to run because he enjoys feeling the wind against his body and his hooves pounding the ground when he 'flies' across the space. Stretching his wings out and re-arranging the feathers, Xiaodan took some time in grooming himself so he would be ready to take a flight if necessary and he jumps off his roost, allowing his wings to 'glide' him down to the meadow down below.
His stomach growls loudly, demanding food and Xiaodan cranes his head up, standing really still while listening to the noises around him but he's really listening for that faint rustling of grasses, rodent noises and there's one to his left. Turning his head in the direction of a rodent chomping on something, the large male slowly moves into that direction like a hunter stalking its prey while he refrains from clicking his beak in excitement like he usually does. "Rabbit... rabbit..." He mutters quietly to himself as he finally recognizes the familiar scent of a rabbit along with the munching noises. "Oh yes...." He crouches in the near distance and tries to creep closer to the unsuspecting rabbit that is munching on long grasses.

Grim's flight carried her a good ways away from her own dwelling, but if this is what it took to have something to do than so be it. The down fall from all this is that the stick was growing heavy and she couldn't hold onto it as much as she would like. Letting the wood drop from the her hold, she watched it drop through the air towards the ground. Lazily she drifted down after it, watching its progress before it hit what ever laid below.
"Please hit something." she secretly wished as her hooves touch the ground.
Murky eyes looked around as she tried to locate her scythe. Grim had lost sight of the heavy piece of wood as it fell faster than she did. Perhaps that had been on purpose? Raising her head up high, she continued to look around.
"Oh where, oh where has my scythe gone. Oh where, oh where could it be?" her voice came in a sing-song way as she prancing around looking. Her steps taking her closer to where a strange feathered stallion was stalking something. Her scythe might have fallen by there, possibly scaring anything and everything in its impact zone.

As the rabbit hops from one area to other, grazing and looking for select morsels, not aware that he is being stalked by a predator and was about to become a meal for this chocobo and he lifts his head up, beady eyes meeting the beaked male's sapphire blue eyes. Everything seems to freeze for a moment as the chocobo springs forward to the rabbit and the rabbit turns around to try to flee but a dull 'thud' could be heard right behind it but he didn't bother to look as he sprinted away. The large stick makes contact with the large male's head before flipping over, nicking the male's shoulder and lands into the ground next to him along with the large body collapsing to the ground.
The colors exploded behind Xiaodan's eyes when something collided with his head and nicked his shoulder all in one swift movement, the first thing that flickered through his head is a superior predator finally gotten an upper hoof on him because he haven't been alert and paying attention to his surroundings like he should have been. Staring at a bloody scratch in utter disbelief, Xiaodan just... collapsed due to the hard hit to his head and all of the emotions surged up and overwhelmed him.

Search as she did, the green mare almost looked over the yellow/gold looking blotch in the grass. It was only the sight if her beloved weapon half sticking up by that blotch did she amble over. Tilting her head to one side, it seemed that she had hit something. Gods above this must have been her lucky day indeed! It wasn't even noon and she had hit someone! But did she make him dead? Grim went closer to inspect the body that laid beside her 'scythe'.
"Hey, you dead?" she asked poking at the unconscious stallion with a hoof. "If you're not, it can certainly be arranged."
There was that grin on her face that made most run from her, that look in her eyes that told stories of blood and death. While she stood over the strange stallion, she took a look at him. He was adorned by strangeness, even his tail was different from her own. frowning slightly she looked at his face, it looked mostly like anyone else that she had seen... Just that this one had a.. Well she wasn't sure, it looked like a bird's beak, but she could only guess from this angle.
"Wakey, wakey," Grim said tickling the stallion's nose with a wing feather, she had yet to collect her weapon of choice yet. "I can see you breathing there, so just wake up so I can makes you dead all proper like."

The darkness welcomed Xiaodan as he sank into the depths of it with his head throbbing painfully which forced him to stay somewhat conscious while his eyes are closed and his body is limp against the ground. The sinister voice slithered into his consciousness, inquiring to if he's dead yet which caused him to physically twitch as he renews his struggle to come back to the physical world because that voice creeps him out big time. ".. certainly can be arranged" was the last thing that really triggered his eyes to snap open and glare up at the green mare that is standing over him balefully.
That grin on the mare's face sent the spiders crawling under his skin and he barely refrained from shivering visibly while he slowly stands up with his tail feathers bristling stiffly and his wings are flared out to make himself look bigger. Clicking his silvery beak, Xiaodan subtly tries to remind the mare that HE is the apex predator while she's just a mare with a stick but the aura around the mare sickened him because it reminds him of blood, death and fear all mixed into one emotion. As the mare's nose tickled his beak, he nearly snapped her wing off while he moves away from the mare quickly.
"I am completely awake and I don't think you would be able to kill me 'properly' now." Xiaodan says while clicking his beak in almost nervous manner and glaring at the mare but there's a hint of confusion in his eyes. He's not sure why this normal looking mare wants to go around and kill someone like him because after all, he's an apex predator and she's his prey if he ever chooses to hunt her. "Your name please." He imperiously commands the mare to hand over her identity so he will know what he's dealing with.

It moved! The stallion actually moved! Oh happy day! It wasn't dead after all! Well this was going to be even better, Grim backed away from the stallion as he moved, that grin plastered on her features as he moved and bulked up to look bigger than she was. Well, he was taller than she was, just by a hand or three. But that didn't mean anything as she watched him act the bigger stallion in front of her. Oh-ho, she was going to have fun with this one. Even if she had to bonk him on the head more than just the once.
"I am the reaper, I am your death. I have no proper name, for you won't need to know it long." Grim's voice cracked slightly as she spoke, her own ruddy grey wings fanning out at her sides to lift her murky green hooves from the lushness of the ground. "Those lovely feathers will make lovely gifts when you're made a scrumptious meal."
Setting herself back to the ground, she hoisted that heavy branch from where it laid. The edges of her mouth perked up into a smile over the thick piece of branch. This was going to be fun and she was going to enjoy ever second of it. She just had to somehow get another hit on this one. Perhaps something more mid-back, between the shoulders would work as well. She couldn't have those wings aiding her quarry in its escape. Nothing escaped the reaper when their name was called.
