Leola Holt The sociable Yokai Leola entered into the diner first, holding the door open for her roommate. Her eyes traveled around the small confines of restaurant, interested in what it could have to offer since she had never been in a place like before. For the morning, it was fairly empty, though some clattering of dishes could be heard coming from the kitchen. The white haired girl went down and sat at one of the round bar stools. "We wait to order, yes?" She asked Kyra as her eyes were still darting all around.

Kyra Valery the friendly unknown Kyra nodded to Leola when she held the door and sat down next to her. It was a fine diner; not completely luxurious, but much better than what she's seen before. She answered Leola's question. " Yes. Most food places will give you a menu to look at before they take your order. Some places have a menu on display, but either way, you don't order until you know what you want." Shortly after she finished, a waitress came out with said menus. Kyra thanked the waitress and began to browse the selection. She was trying to find something without meat, as it makes her sick.

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai Leola had wanted to chat with the waitress for longer, but it looked as though they were short staffed so she had other duties to attend to which left the pair alone. She looked over her menu, deciding to search through the breakfast section. The human comfort foods interested her but she also wanted to know Kyra's opinions on some of the items. "Do you the pancakes, hashbrows, or the waffles?" Each of them also came with fruits or sweet syrups.

Kyra Valery the friendly unknown Kyra decided to go with a simple salad. She was in the mood for some fresh vegetables. She didn't need long to answer Leola's question. " If I was picking out of those three, I'd pick the pancakes. But perhaps you could get the hash browns on the side if you choose either of the other two, if you want." She then decided to tell Leola one more thing about her, as it seemed to be somewhat of an appropriate time. " One last thing about me, whatever I am is most likely a herbivorous creature, as meats make me terribly sick."

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai Leola thought over her choices once more before making a final decision. Once the waitress returned she would give her order. "It seems we have another thing in common." The satyr said as she set her menu aside. "My kind are vegetarians as well since we are linked with the deer, but that is not true for all Satyrs." The yokai told the other girl, giving her more facts about her species. "Since the subject is present, would you like to know anything else about my kind?"

(OOC: small edit) Kyra Valery the friendly unknown " I figured you would have been vegetarian as well. That came from an assumption that leads to my question. Does your kind generally act similar to the animals you represent?"

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai "The majority of satyrs are linked closely with mountain goats, though there are those that are close to deer, sheep, gazelle, unicorns, and some with a demonic influence. In truth, I believe what you represent depends on your family and clan." Leola told Kyra after she asked. Surprisingly, the talkative girl actually took a moment to think about what she was going to say. "It seems the majority of my own clan do take qualities of their animal counterparts. While they are very social creatures among their kind and other yokai, they are very reserved to interacting with humans. They were against my own interest in joining the academy."

Kyra Valery the friendly unknown Kyra nodded at Leola's response. It is what she thought. " You must have been brave to come here then. I have been raised by humans, so of course I'm comfortable around them, but, correct me if I'm wrong, you seem to have had very little contact." The waitress came back to take their orders; she ordered her salad and a glass of water.

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai Leola gave her order of pancakes with strawberries and a half order of hashbrowns on the side. "I have had no contact with humans before now. Most of people I've had contact with since leaving my family have all been other yokai helping me get here." She told her as they now waited on their food to be served. "I don't think it would be the right word to call it brave. I have heard tales from traveling yokais that visited my clan about humans, and efforts to live with them in peace. Eventually I heard about the school as well. The travelers had high praise of the idea and seemed not to have fear, so why should I be afraid?"

Kyra Valery the friendly unknown The waitress came back quickly with her water. " It makes sense. Hearing a lot about another species could help you understand how they are. but with me, I read a lot about all different kinds of yokai, satyrs being one, and I was still startled when I first saw you."

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai Leola was surprised to hear that Kyra had been shocked when she first met her. "Really?! Well you will have to see me like that more often truly as I am." She said to the other girl. Delightful smells were coming out from the kitchen as their food was being cooked. The Satyr was getting more excited at the thought of receiving her food. "So you read a lot? I don't think there would be many books written by humans about yokai. How did you come across it then?"

Kyra Valery the friendly unknown Kyra nodded when Leola asked about the book. It was a unique book. " It took me a long time to find it. It seems to be very old, and I payed a fortune on it at a used book store. I know nothing of the author, so I don't know if they were human or yokai, but all I know is that it's been somewhat accurate so far with some of the other yokai I met before coming here." She then remembered a few more recent books she's seen in libraries before. " I'm also sure that some yokai write books as well; it's not completely out of the question that they may write a few about their species."

Leola Holt The sociable Yokai "Yes, there are yokai authors and I am sure the books would be in the library here on the campus since it would have closer ties to the yokai community." Leola suggested to her roommate if she wanted to search those out. "I just found it interesting that if you were raise by humans you found out about your kind. The one thing I knew about the humans before coming here was that they were just as reserved about yokai as my kind are about the humans."
As she was talking, the waitress came back with a tray and gave both of the customers their orders. Leola grinned deviously as she eyed the appetizing two stack of pancakes and hashbrowns. There was also a few different flavors of syrups available, so she started pouring the syrups on in different sections on top of her food. She did have enough sense to use the fork and knife but still was digging ferociously into her food.
