Extra Information on Appearance (Mark): Syrena's mark is located on the back of her neck, though because of this she has used her long hair to hide it for many years. It is shaped of both the sun and moon.

History: Syrena was the first born child to the King. She had never known her real mother. Her mother was actually a woman from another Kingdom, whom the King had fallen in love with during his travels. However soon after having Syrena in secrecy, she knew she had to return back to the duties of her own Kingdom, and death befell her during battle. It was then that with no other choice, the King had his most trusted adviser, Lilith, go to get Syrena to bring her back to the Kingdom of Lux. The King agreed to raise her on his own.
Upon Syrena's arrival, the Kingdom had many questions. However, the King was able to answer them all with a single lie. He told the people of Lux that Syrena's mother was a commoner who lived among them, and that shortly after Syrena's birth, she had fallen ill and passed away. Though this side of the story was still somewhat looked down upon due to the fact that it involved her mother being a commoner, and her father a royal, the King knew that he would be overthrown if he told the truth. It was not long after, that the King soon discovered the mark on the back of Syrena's neck.
The King knew how the people of Lux felt about those who were Marked, and over the years, he had had felt the same, until now. Since Syrena was his child, he loved her and wanted to protect her. The King could not bear the thought of sending her away, or killing her like the people of Lux had done to those who were Marked for so many years. Instead, the King bound Syrena's life to one of secrecy. He did not allow her to leave the castle walls, and he was careful to make sure that she always hid her mark. The King even hid this from all his staff, all except for his adviser, the woman who had brought Syrena to the castle in the first place. Syrena was to spend her entire childhood living alone in a separate tower of the castle, which only the King and his adviser had access to. As the years passed, eventually the talk of Syrena's existence throughout the Kingdom faded so that it was all but a distant memory.
Since Syrena was Marked, although the King loved her dearly, he knew that because of this she would not be able to reign as Queen after him. A year after Syrena was born, the King married another woman from Lux and had a second child, who was named Emillia. For the following years after, Syrena did not meet her half sister or her stepmother, who was now Queen of Lux. The Queen knew of Syrena's back story due to the fact that the King had told it to her, but because Syrena's mother was someone else, the Queen had no interest in meeting Syrena. While Emillia spent time receiving lessons from the best of scholars that the Kingdom had to offer, training to become the next Queen of Lux, Syrena spent her time learning from the many books that were in the tower. While Syrena read about the history of the Kingdom, it soon became clear to her why her father had raised her in secrecy. Syrena now knew how the rest of the Kingdom felt about those who were Marked, and why she had to keep that a secret, something that she continued to do for all the years of her life.
Once Emillia turned seventeen, the King knew that there was one more year until she was to become the future Queen, since he was beginning to grow old. It was decided that as soon as Emillia turned eighteen, she would become the new Queen of Lux. However over the years of knowing Emillia, the King also knew of her greed and her tremendous lust for power, her ambitions that she sometimes acted upon without thinking them through. Deep down, the King knew that Emillia would not be a good leader to the Kingdom, and so he was faced to make another decision.
After spending time discussing with his adviser, it was clear to both of them that Syrena would be the right choice as Queen for the Kingdom of Lux, due to her logical and compassionate nature. Syrena agreed to the position, though she was very much aware of the fact that now it would be even more crucial for her to keep her mark a secret, something that she had already grown accustomed to doing for the years of her life. Emillia did not take the news of the fact that Syrena was to become Queen lightly. Just as the King had expected, Emillia was completely enraged.
That night, Emillia's greed for power reached a new level. In her vengeance, she murdered both the King and Queen, and attempted to do the same to Syrena. After the news spread through the rest of Lux, since Syrena was the rightful heir to the throne, she was now forced to make a choice---Either Emillia could be put to death for her actions, or exiled. Syrena made the choice to spare her life and send her into exile. Later that day, Syrena was crowned as the new Queen of Lux. She continues to keep her mark a secret, though as Queen, she hopes to one day be able to change the attitude that the people of Lux have towards those who are Marked.
Weapon(s): Her most commonly used weapon is a bow and arrows, which are enhanced with the energy of light. During the daytime, these arrows glow golden with the energy from sunlight, but during nighttime they glow silver and are instead enhanced with energy from the moonlight. Whenever Syrena is near water, she can shift the form of her bow into a trident. She also either carries either a sword on her or several daggers.
Strengths: Syrena is constantly aware of her surroundings and is good at gaining new information, as well as creating strategies. She is very strong willed and doesn't let the opinions of others get to her. Over time she has learned to be able to adapt to almost any situation. Syrena is also very swift on her feet, but is even more swift when she uses her wings that are summoned by the energy of light, which can enable her to fly. Due to her control over the elements of both water and light, she is an expert healer.
Weaknesses: Though Syrena is very logical, due to her kind nature, she may sometimes show mercy to those who wouldn't hesitate to kill her. Her mark is also something she has always kept a secret from the rest of the Kingdom, and so she does not use her powers regarding elemental control over water unless it is absolutely necessary.
Additional Information: By using the energy of the light, Syrena can make a pair of wings materialize from her back, which allow her to fly. During the daytime, her light based powers come from the sunlight, but during nighttime they come from the moonlight. Also, as Queen reigning over a Kingdom who hates those who are Marked, this has been something that Syrena has always kept hidden.
