Chailee and Willow had been out for a gentle ride. With all the snow on the ground she was being careful with Willow since the mare had a tendency to want to take her head and just run. As much as it irked the bay mare that she had been reined in, Chay was pretty confident that Willow enjoyed their little bout of exercise. When the ground finally thawed out and was less..well..hazardous is when the pair would be able to get back into practicing their jumping as well.

So after cooling Willow down Chailee led her into the barn. At first she hadn't noticed the girl as he attention was focused slowly on her own horse but as she began to lead Willow down the aisle to her stall Chailee couldn't help but see the girl giving attention to another horse. "Oh! Hello!" She smiled. "I don't think I've seen you around here before. Hold on a minute. I'll get Willow into her stall and a blanket on her and I'll be right back!"

So with that, Chay led Willow to her stall. She quickly gave the mare a curry comb to get rid of any excess dust before throwing a blanket onto her. The mare was already nose deep in a bucket of oats by the time Chay closed the stall door, patting off her jeans and coat. "Sorry I wanted to get her settled in. She was looking forward to some food." She grinned. "I am Chailee Sterling. Are you going to be boarding a horse here?" Most of the new people Chay had met around the barn were prospective boarders or new boarders. Otherwise, everyone knew everyone.

Chay smiled and happily took the apple before hopping up onto a hay bay pile to relax. "Seeing that Willow is happily munching away right now on dinner, I think I'll eat it." She took a bite out of the apple and savored the ripe fruit. "She'll enjoy the core later." She grinned. "Thanks! It's really good. I like apples myself but Willow has a tendency to get most of them."

"Well it seems you made a friend!" She gestured to the horse that Evren was happily doting upon. "So you don't usually follow your father around with check-ups? Do you help him much with his patients?"

She took another bite of her apple and sighed contently still bundled up in her coat as the warmth of the barn had yet to seep into her cold bones. She loved riding Willow, no matter what the weather outside, but she definitely enjoyed the warmer months over the cold ones. Fall was alright. It could be crisp but riding the trails with all the trees being in full color had to be one of her favorite things. Right now, everything was just bare and...white. It's pretty at first but Chay was ready for the start of Spring.

"I am toying with the idea of becoming a vet. I've always loved animals and being around them. I am just...not very good at science and math though." She wrinkled her nose. "They're just so complicated."

"It's pretty great though that you get to help your father out! I am sure the animals and their owners love the fact that you help groom them."Chailee bit into her apple again, enjoying the lovely flavor.

"Oh...uh, yea." She chuckled. "I mean, it's just an idea right now, and being only 14 means I have some time yet to think about it. I just love being around animals so much that it seems like a logical idea. But who knows what might change in the future for me." She smiled brightly. "I may find myself drawn into something that interests me even more. Maybe it will be something that I'll know for certain it's what I am suppose to pursue." She shrugged. "We'll see what the future has in store for me."

As the mention of not being in school Chay took another bite of her apple before tilting her head slightly. "Are you new to the area that you aren't in school yet?" The faint trickle of water down her fingers pulled Chailee's attention to her apple. She quickly licked her fingers clean before munching down another bite. Chay was certainly doing some quick work to her apple. "When will you be starting? Do you know what school you'll be going to?"

A familiar nicker further down in the barn caught Chay's attention before she heard the familiar sound of a bucket being banged on the side of a stall. "You've had enough you little piggy!" She laughed. "I swear Willow would eat herself senseless if I let her. She loves her oats, and any sweet treat. I have to admit. It's probably my fault that she's constantly looking for treats off of people."

Chay listened to the girl carefully as she explained a bit about her past. With furrowed brows Chailee tried to imagine what it must be like to have forgotten about everything in her past, and realized that there was no way, despite her very good imagination, that she could come close to trying to understand what it must be like. Instead she opted to try and be as up-beat and normal about it as possible. It was obvious that the amnesia bothered Evren.

"Well I am glad that you're here! I am going to Meadowview and I can tell you I really like the school and I don't doubt that you'll be able to pass your entrance exams! For now just relax, enjoy your time away from school, and just have some fun. I can tell you, I wish I could have a short break from school." She grinned and winked. Chailee really couldn't offer the girl any advice on her missing past memories and everything else that seemed to bother the other girl, but she could do her best to make her feel a bit better.

At the change of subject Chailee happily went right along. There was no reason to dwell on a subject that Evren seemed uncomfortable with and Chailee couldn't really make much comment on. "Oh yes! We are." She beamed. "I do wish she was able to live closer to home but there's just not enough room for her where we live. It's alright though. I make sure to come out and see her a lot!"

Willow seemed to sense that she was the subject of their conversation. The bay mare stuck her head out over the stall door and whinnied at the two girls. Chailee laughed. "She loves attention. She's such a princess!"

Chailee smiled as the girl pet Willows head and the mare looked quite happy to receive the attention. "Yea! You'll have to look for me if you get accepted, and I have no doubt that you will be."

With a laugh Chailee shook her head. "More like I spoil her more than I should. But it's so hard to ignore that sweet face of hers. She knows how to work me. Sometimes I wonder who's really in charge."

"Oh don't worry about getting lost. I bet you'll figure everything out soon enough and get use to the city. I mean, it's not hard to get lost here if you don't know where you're going. Destiny City is pretty big." She nodded as if to confirm what she had just said.

At the mention of a cat though, that perked up Chailee's attention. In fact she was about to ask about the feline when she heard the sound of a car horn outside blare it's horn in a succession of familiar honks. "Figures."

She took one last bite out of her apple and hopped up off her hay bale and crossed to Evren and Willow. Holding her hand out with the apple core, Willow happily relieved Chailee of the remains of the fruit and munched down the core in quick succession. "Wiping her hands on her jeans Chailee looked apologetic as Evren. "That's my Dad. I gotta get home for dinner and do my homework."

She did a double check to make sure she was still all buttoned up before pulling her gloves out of her pockets and putting them on. "Feel free to stop by again! I am usually here every day after school. The weekends I am a little hit and miss times wise. I'd love to hear about your cat! I mean, maybe next time you could bring him along! None of the horses here really mind cats roaming around." She smiled warmly. "It was great meeting you!"

She rushed towards the exit of the barn when the horn blared again for her. She stopped at the exit to give one last wave before hurrying out into the cold and into the warmth of her Dad's car.
