 Cody looked around at the sky as he left the grocery store, he was holding a bag from the store. He also had an umbrella to cover himself from the pouring rain. He made sure it was open and over his head before he walked away deciding to head home. He was happy to be able to relax the next few weeks, but deciding to get through the rain he had walked to the park hoping to cut through and get home easier only he didn't know that he would run into a rather cute and in need of help surprise.

 Savannah, a fennec fox Kitsune, was in the park in her fox form in the park. She was sitting under a bench shivering from being cold from being wet. As she sat there, she smelled someone coming and started to make cute noises hoping they would give her some food. She was weak from hunger so she was barely able to walk over to Cody without stumbling over her own feet.

Cody was walking through the park when he noticed the noises. He looked around, but soon noticed small movements under a park. He walked over to it and knelled seeing the little fox. He could see that she was weak and looked hungry, he felt bad for her so he gently moved and thought it over, "Want something to eat?" he asked curiously to her, thinking that he could help the little fox out.

Savannah didn't have any tags but she had a small collar around her neck which looked really old. She then made a small squeaky noise as Cody asked if she wanted something to eat. She almost collapsed in front of him from how weak she was at this point. She caught herself though hoping Cody would take her inside. Poor thing, her coat was soaking wet and she was shivering as she looked up at Cody looking like she would pass out at any second. She even had blood on her leg showing she had been bleeding some. Being as small as she was, her bones were very tiny as well so a break was not a good thing if she had one.

Cody looked at her when she seemed to be collapsing on herself from being weak. He gently sighed as he gently put his hands under her. He picked her up as he gently craddled her in his arms as he carried her home. Once home he had gently laid her on a blanket on the kitchen table. He got a warm wet towel as he cleaned off her fur and used a first aid kit to check for any wounds. When he knew that she was dry, clean and warm, he placed a plate of warm grilled chicken by her with a saucer of water for her to be able to eat and get something to drink.

Savannah let Cody pick her up and cradle her in his arms. She snuggled up to him for warmth the entire way home. Poor thing was all skin and bones. When she was dried off and warm, she devoured the chicken within a matter of minutes but drank some water too between bites. Being as tiny as she was under her now puffed out fur, she seemed bigger, but under all that fur was the skinniest, tiniest fox anyone could ever see. It was obvious she had not eaten for a while. As she finished up the chicken, she looked up at Cody having a little energy going in her body before she squeaked at him saying "thank you for helping me."

Cody saw that she was happily eating the food but as she finished eating, he had thought that she would sleep and rest till he heard her squeak which made him freeze as he looked at her, "Did... did you just talk!?" he asked shocked but thought it over, he had looked at the collar around her neck but realized where he had seen it before, when he had passed by a slave shop, another slave had worn one. He looked at her, "Your... your a slave? Like a talking fox slave?" he asked confused.

Savannah sighed and changed into her Kitsune Form. "Well now that the cat's out of the bag, I guess I can't hide myself anymore." She said as her ears perked up. "Sorry for tricking you like I did. I don't trust anyone with this form until i know they have good intentions. But since you figured me out early.....I thought it might be a good idea to show you what you're dealing with." She said stretching a bit. She sighed as she finished, "Finally I can be myself. Being stuck in that fox form for as long a I was, it was starting to get uncomfortable." She added looking at him before putting her ears back. "You look like you're scared of me. I don't mean you any harm. I promise." She said nervously hoping he wouldn't call the slave market on her like most people would. She didn't want to go back to that awful place.

Cody watched as she changed into her kitsune form, "Out of the bag... you were a fox that just talked..." He said thinking it over as he looked at her, "I was just a bit surprised... I didn't think that you would harm me considering how weak you seemed... which how are you feeling?" he asked concerned about her.

"I've got some energy now. So I'm feeling better." Sonata said as her tail wrapped around her. "Thanks again for helping me. I'll take my leave now. I don't want to wear out my welcome." She said before she took a step but fell onto her knees still too weak to walk. She sat on the floor frustrated with herself. She had been taught that weakness was her own doing and no one else's fault. She had so much pain in her heart that she was still trying to hold it back. She then stood back up hiding the tears in her eyes as she hugged the wall trying to get to the door.

Cody looked at her when spoke but when she got off the table and stood up but when she had fallen onto the floor he gently went to her as she got back up and was walking to the door, "Your welcome and I am happy to help but I cant let you leave, at least not while your hurt... now I am not saying you can't leave but please let me help you... stay at least till you have all your strength is back." He said kindly to her where he helped her back to the chair she could sit and relax.

"Are you sure you don't mind? I don't want to impose." She said not looking at him. She had been told that looking up at her master or anyone who wasn't a slave was rude and she wasn't deserving of it. Her ears were flat against her head as she felt guilty for staying in such a nice place as this was.

Cody looked at her as she seemed sad about being able to stay but he knelled down to allow her to look at his face instead of forcing her to look up, "Come now your welcome here... i would rather you stay then end up back in that horrible place." He said kindly but thought it over, "Would you like for me to remove your collar... it looks uncomfortable and as long as your in my home, your not a slave." He said kindly to her.

Sonata then hugged him out of no where as he said that she wasn't a slave in his home. "Thank you. I'm Sonata by the way. And yes I'd like this collar off. It's a bit rusted, so it might be a little hard to open." She said as she let him go and looked at him blushing a bit realizing what she did. "Sorry. I got excited." She said wrapping her tail around her before she buried her face in it.

Cody gasped as she found that she hugged him but he gently hugged her back but nodded when he noticed her rusted collar. He got up and walked to the kitchen coming back with a pair of scissors which he gently cut her collar off care not to cut her as he then walked over and tossed it, "Its alright... my name is Cody by the way." He said as he then walked over, "So can I get you anything?" He asked curiously.
