If you had a million dollars, what would you spend it on and why?

Honestly though, I'd want a space of my own, even if just a temporary home. Sometimes I'd just like to be physically on my own without knowing that at some point everyone will be home and it'll be noisy.
Mostly I'd like to spend it on physical comfort like a futon and healthful foods. Then on things I'd like to learn, like ice skating (that'd require travel, hee) but really, like drawing, animation.
One thing no amount of money can buy is love and I do have plenty of that. 3nodding
If I won a million dollars.. I'd buy me and my significant other a house, some furnishing for it, and save some of the money for bills. (We already live in a trailer together but it's having problems because it's so damn cold..)
And a small amount will go towards gaia cash because I'm so addicted right now lol.
I'd go on a shopping spree for clothes and shoes. <3
I would also use my money to take classes to learn how to sew and make cosplays and buy tons of fabric to do so! (Because what's the fun in buying the cosplay when you can make it, am I right?)
The rest of it will go towards college. :>

Hi hun I read your post about the trailer and being too cold. You probably know all this already but just in case you don't I'm going to post some stuff I found out when I was thinking of renting a trailer home. Every certain number of years the insulation needs to be checked and replaced because it breaks down over time and of its not done eventually it will offer no protection against the cold and heat. You can definitely notice by your electric bill in the summer due to the a/c and your heating bills in winter. Recently they switched over to foam insulation. It's far superior to the other type and can fill in every single spot because it's a foam they pump in and then that moves into every spot then dries plus it last many years more than the other type of insulation and lastly it protects your house much more against the heat and cold than the old type of insulation. Old trailers are cheaper of course and the new west ones with this typerson of insulation costs more but your heating and cooling bills drop so much they're usually worth it.
If I won a million dollars I would buy a home so i could always have a sevure roof over my head and set it up so it was all paid for completely making sure it wasn't haunted first of course. Then make sure it had every thing updated roof, siding, insulation, bathroom kitchen etc. Make sure the entire back yard was fenced in with a great fence so I never has to worry about my dog getting out or someone being able to look in and steal him and so he could play out there and I wouldn't have to worry anything could happen to him. Then I would open up money market accounts at all the banks making sure not to go over the amount protected by the government. I am doing that so I can live off the interest and also rollover any unused interest into another money market acount. Another thing I was thinking of doing is buying a small apartment building in NYC then when that's paid off buy another. People always need a place to live and it would be a pretty secure investment

Thank you for that! Yeah It is an older trailer x.x That's how we got it for so cheap (bought it for 6k and it was in decent condition from what we could see)

I would do so much. I would buy a huge piece of land, build several houses on the lot and move my mom into her own little house right away . Buy alpacas, goats, one cow, two turkeys named Christmas and Thanksgiving. Probably another dog, I'm not gonna lie. All the equipment my boyfriend would need for his metal work stuff and all the things I would need to care for the animals and to sheer my alpacas and turn their fleece into yarn. If I still had money left over dude I'd be handing it out to friends, strangers and charities for the homeless and battered women's shelters.
buy the house my family is currently living in, and also buy a small but comfortable home in france or germany where I'd want to work. Extra would probably be spent on an awesome holiday and a sml serviceable car? 3nodding

a house. because i desperately want my own space. possibly a better car, mine works well enough, but it's not ideal. some crafty things. whatever was left, the kids' savings.
One thing I've noticed on nearly every comment is the desire to buy themselves and/or others a house of their own. Mine is no different. We would buy a large piece of land build ourselves a quaint Hobbit type home.
If there was any money left we would buy a small piece of land in the mountains of New Mexico and build a cabin. If there were any family members who wanted to vacation in the mountains then they would have a place to stay for free. *sigh* I think that would be like heaven on earth.

I guess I stopped off pretty soon. Buying family house or land is all well and good, but it's hard for me to conceive spending a whole lot at once - even if starting with a million. O_o
To do stuff like that for family, it'd had to be: "here you go, don't ask for anything else". Sounds harsh, but there're a couple of them that never you think you give enough no matter what you do. That's why I focused on what I'd get myself - thinking of what to give others for the most part, takes the fun out of the imagining.
♪♫ a million dollars, eh? well; when I think of things in terms of money; two things fight for my attention. that is band merch, and getting my kitties spayed and neutered.
or books. lots of books. I don't really desire to get myself a home, it'd be nice, but it's not on the top of my list. although if I had the money, it might fight for my attention as well - maybe just a little place for me and my kitties to call our own.
a laptop maybe.
make a special little house for my kitties, with heating so they won't be cold in the winter.
or I'd go traveling, London maybe - or Paris... I dunno.
depending on how much is left over, I'd do either one or both of: taking a few random classes, photography maybe, or some computer class and then the rest for actual schooling.
But I'm not actually like, one hundred percent sure. I can't fathom having that much money all at once.

I just returned from shopping, and I decided that if I had a million dollars, I'd want to purchase the entire contents of one Hobby Lobby store. lol. But it would be so cool, though!
