~~~~~~~~~~~~Huong Nguyen~~~~~~~~~~~~
Personal Stuff
Name: Huong Nguyen
Age: 18 years old
Gender: Girl
Race: Human
Height: 162 centimeters
Weight: 50 kilograms
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Extras: She has an impeccable knowledge of various herbs' uses. Huong tends to randomly pick plants to sniff or taste for confirmation. Furthermore, she carries a portable tea set in her bag (where she keeps her Dust and Dee-dee), and will offer tea to strangers if she believes that they are having a bad day.
Personality: She is highly optimistic and labels everything with cute names (like her weapon is called Dee-Dee). So, take a huge freaking Grimm about to attack her. She would respond with "You're.. so.. CUTE! That's so adorable how you tried to kill me and all! Your name should be Timmy!" A few minutes later after a battle if she wins and the Grimm is dead, "Aww, I'm sorry, Timmy. But it had to be done. Sleep well." Only the gods know how on Remnant she comes up with cutesy names for everything. However, Huong is fierce when it comes to her beliefs; She is not afraid to speak her mind.
About Me
Favorite Color: Lily Pink (#FFAEB9)
Weapon of Choice:
- Dee-Dee, Daidao (A Vietnamese weapon that literally translates to Big/Long Knife, but is essentially a spear with a cleaver on the end). It is about 180 centimeters in total, the blade being 50 centimeters and the staff 130 centimeters. The weapon breaks into two parts: The cleaver and the staff which can be used both for combat and storing purposes. The entire weapon is made of a durable metal, allowing it to be used against various enemies. However, it may not necessarily powerful against heavily armored units.
The staff part has a design inscribed along the length that channels raw, powdered Dust to the end where her blade is with 3 slots for each colored Dust for elemental damage. Huong keeps the needed Dust inside her bag inside four separate pouches of Green, Blue, and Red Dust (Wind, Water/Ice, and Fire). If Dee-dee runs out of Dust, she would have to stop fighting and pour the Dust at the end of the staff. Therefore, Huong would lose precious time to fight if she needs to resupply the staff. The Dust's power can be released both when the blade is attached and unattached.
Auras/ Semblances:
- Spotlight Captivation "Stage-Stealer" - Huong is able to project her aura like a red flag, causing anything that could see her direct their attention towards her for five to ten minutes. The semblance is about 10 meters long, giving Huong the advantage of being away from her targets. Mainly, it can be used as a huge distraction for people she would need to protect. DISADVANTAGE: The power can only work if the targets can see (so if they're blind, it's totally useless) or have enough willpower to pull away. After using this semblance, Huong cannot really stop the attention given, meaning that the semblance could be a huge help but also a burden if Huong isn't prepared; Therefore, she could only wait until their attention fades away.
- Lily Blooming "Lil" - Huong spins in a circle, directing her aura only as an attack all around her like a bubble. The attack stretches to about 3 meters. She is able to move around while using this semblance, making her a human projectile. DISADVANTAGE: She can only use this semblance in urgent situations because it costs a lot of her energy and makes her light-headed. She becomes more dizzy the more often she uses the semblance. Also, the semblance wouldn't be as useful for larger opponents because of her size. The bubble can only be used as an attack; Therefore, if it is meant to be a defense, the bubble would pop.
Bio
Huong isn't exactly the type of fighter people would imagine skipping around in Beacon. With her petite size and pink fluffy outfit, she doesn't seem the type to harm a fly, let alone go kill Grimm. Well, Huong is the definition of "Don't judge a book by its cover." Huong knows exactly where she is and her purpose in Beacon. Huong lived in the center Vale all her life, but her family was extremely traditional. Her grandfather ruled the family, forcing upon male chauvinist ideals which Huong hated all her life. Why should she only serve to cook and clean after his crap all the time? Her parents told her that Huong must hold her grandfather in respect because of family values and tradition.
Huong wasn't going to fall for that so quickly. So, while her grandfather praised her obedience, she silently rebelled by learning self defense from a local school. At first, the teacher was unsure because Huong always came to class on her own, never brought by a parent. However, he never asked; Huong became one of his better students, talented in movement and intuition. Throughout her childhood, when her family thought she was taking extra tutoring classes for her studies, she went to school to learn self-defense and basic forms of combat. Eventually, her mother found out of her actions when Huong came home with several 'I fell on the ground' bruises that came from training hand-to-hand combat. She was scolded but then congratulated for her actions. Huong's mother had wanted to become something other than just a mother; She had wanted to become a scholar but couldn't because of family. Her mother suggested that she could make sure Huong can keep up her dreams as long as her studies in school were met with decent grades. Plus, it will be a secret between them. There then, Huong began to train even more, having faith in her mother's care.
Around the age of fifteen, Huong felt confident enough to openly prove to her family once in for all that women are just as powerful as men. She invited her grandfather on this 'special school day' to show him her progress. At school, actually, was actually several friends and classmates who supported Huong throughout her childhood and preteen years. Finally, the self-defense teacher who taught her was there. Huong then announced to her grandfather that is going to become a Huntress. Her grandfather laughed, thinking Huong was pulling some kind of joke. After all, he said, "How can a woman, none the less a little girl, can fight?" Huong faced her grandfather with a small smile. "I can. Grandfather, if I win this match, I will go to Signal Academy and you will respect my decision no matter the consequence. If I lose this match, I will still go to Signal Academy and you will still have to respect my decision no matter the consequence."
Huong then walked to the center to face her teacher in the last test: Teacher and student. In the end of the match, Huong beat her teacher, barely winning as her teacher was knocked out. She turned to her grandfather, expecting to see some form of anger, disappointment, anything. However, she turned to see him in the seat asleep. Apparently, he had given up his attention since there was no immediate win or loss. Huong sighed, understanding it will still take time for her to truly fix her grandfather's point of view. However, at least she gotten closer. Even if it is a little bit.
Huong, aided by her parents, managed to get into Signal Academy. From there, she proceeded into Beacon with a new tea set and grasp of one of her aims as a Huntress: To protect all citizens no matter their age, color, race, species, or origin. She has not regretted her decision since. She has faced several moments on her way about her decisions. Why this, what that, why what? Huong would only reply, "Why do you judge what I am instead for who I am?"
