Some of you may have heard about the siege in Sydney yesterday where 17 hostages were held by a gunman in a café. This was reported on throughout the day as a possible terrorist attack.

My first thought upon hearing this story was; "OMG that is scary. I hope everyone is ok" my second thought was: "OMG! What kind of hate for the Muslim community is this incident going to cause?"
As I continued to hear the reports throughout the day the second thought stayed with me.

My heart was warmed today when I went onto Facebook and saw that a couple of my friends had posted this or similar articles:

It is so amazing to see love when you expected hate.

I can safely say I have NEVER been more proud to be Australian!

That's so great! It gave me goosebumps, haha.

It's so nice when we can look past the deeds of the few. Blaming a whole group of people is wrong and that's what us humans as a whole tend to do. It's nice to see when we stand up for people instead of fight against them.
