Instructions:
Writers:
~ Write a paragraph about a character you've created in your mind. Include everything you want to be considered in the drawing of your character, and post it as a new thread.
~ Use as much or as little detail as you wish.
~ When describing your character remember, personality is just as important as the actual appearance. Is your character brave? Shy? Mean? Innocent? If you'd like you can describe your character in personality only, leaving the physical appearance to the interpretation of the artist.
~ Feel free to make minor constructive suggestions (stuff such as "could you make her hair a bit longer?"), but don't critique artist's work. It's their interpretation, and they're free to make it as they wish. If you don't care for it, just don't use it.
~ Remember, this is all for fun, so don't get upset if someone's interpretation doesn't match your mental image.
~ Always credit pictures to the person who created them.
~ If you like someone's picture, OFFER COMPLIMENTS!!!
~Remember, if you're not comfortable having your work drawn, DO NOT share it!
Artists:
~ Feel free to PM writers to ask for more detail on a character that you wish to draw. The more you know about the writer's concept, the closer your drawing will be to what they are looking for.
~ Be creative, but don't actively change characteristics designated by the writer. Character's can be very dear to a writer, so do try to give the writer what they ask for.
~ SIGN YOUR WORK!!! When you share your artwork with a writer, it is assumed that the writer may use that picture for their own inspiration, so if you want to receive credit for your work MAKE SURE YOU SIGN IT.
~ Understand that writers may wish to display your picture on websites along with their writing. If you'd prefer they not do this, please say so.
~ Post your picture, either directly or by way of a link, in the thread of the description you've chosen to use.
Above all else, have fun! The goal is to give artists a fun, creative exercise while helping writers in the formation of their own work. So express your ideas, share concepts, and have fun!
