Personality:
Norio has always been a very straight - laced individual fixated on rules and their enforcement. He was raised in a very traditional environment and taught to follow a somewhat rigid code of conduct and honor. While his mother of course attempted to get her son to “lighten up” as the years go by those first lessons seem to have stuck leaving Norio something of a “stick in the mud” to his younger cohorts.
While he holds himself to a rigid moral code and a high standard of excellence he is not without his own failings and quirks. He is for instance a extremely goal oriented individual and has been known to show a ruthless sort of competitiveness when it comes to proving himself against others. He is also extremely hard working and willing to spend hours at a time in the pursuit of self-betterment. He does have an admitted soft-spot for his mother and can be a touch of a mama’s boy at times bending to his mother’s will when he would flatly ignore her advice coming from anyone else.
He is also a touch psychic although this is an ability he keeps firmly in the back of his mind. While he greatly respects his mother miko abilities he believes his own ability to “sense” evil to be a little too undefined and impractical for his own tastes. Despite this he does use his blood in some mystic senses as something of a compromise between his rigid practicality and his mother’s mystic heritage.
He has a strong protective instinct especially when it comes to women and children. While he is fully aware that women are capable of defending themselves he tends to treat them with excessive courtesy. This seems to be an offshoot of his deep respect for his mother and tends to give the impression of chauvinism in those who do not know him well.
Lastly the one trait that he abhors within himself above all else is the fiery temper that he inherited from his mother. While he seldom shows it he has something or quick temper and is easily angered by the stupidity of others. However for the most part he channels his anger productively via training or some other endeavor. Although every once in a while a person will accidentally hit a hot button issue on a bad day and they’ll be on the receiving end of a rather savage tongue lashing if not an outright attack.
Personal History:
Norio’s formative years were spent at his family shrine learning from his mother. From an early age his mother knew he had a gift for the mystic arts and did her best to encourage her son to utilize his abilities to the fullest. Sadly her son was not one for the more metaphysical aspects of the universe, choosing instead to focus on the physical and practical side of life.
The two did eventually reach a compromise when it was discovered that Norio had a real talent at blood magic and creating wards. Something in his blood seemed to repel minor dark energies and so his mother decided to steer his lessons to her son’s strengths. Around this time a pair of dogs found their way to the Hino Shrine and formed an instant bond with Norio. He spent many a day training the two dogs in protection and actually used those skills to get a decent job at the local police precinct working with K-9s.
Norio did well in his career as a policemen and would no doubt have continued until he was forced into retirement if he had not instead been chosen to be a Knight. After being approached by the King to take on the mantle of the Iron Knight ( see Knight History for details ) Norio was also given a position as a Palace Guard as well. To further protect the princess while the her Senshi sought ways to release her from her slumber.

Weapons:
Blood Bane Sword - A sword that was forged by Iron in his mother’s sacred flames using his blood and iron from the planet mars. It has the ability to repel evil forces and slice through dark magic attacks.
Irons of the Earth Shield - A shield forged by Iron with ashes from the sacred flame using iron mined from deep underground and blood donated by Sailor Mars. It too can repel evil forces but when thrust into the ground it forms a tall wall that can protect from minor to mid-level attacks. ( once shield is used as a wall it cannot be used as shield again until the next transformation )
Mystic Iron Armor - Armor forged by the Iron in the sacred flames with his blood and iron from the heart of Mars ( the planet ). It is blessed by Sailor Mars and is said to repel the dark or evil forces. It is able to withstand most mid-range attacks or lower.
Items: Blood Iron Signet Ring - once of the first objects to be forged by the man who would be the Iron Knight it was originally meant to be a gift for his mother but has instead become a symbol of his rank.
Abilities:
Mystic Sense - Like his mother Norio has a basic ability to sense evil or demonic energies, unlike his mother he seldom uses his power preferring instead to rely on logic or his weapons.
Blood Magic - Norio has the ability to use his blood to form binding circles and protective wards. This is obviously a limited ability as losing too much blood greatly weakens Norio himself.
Valiant Irons - Iron twists his gauntlets and scrapes along his arms causing blood to fall in his gloves. The blood is then transformed into a pair of Manacles ( Cuffs ) that he flings at his enemy to temporarily bind their powers ( length of time powers are bound depends on the degree of power the opponent has ). Can be used only twice per transformation.
Knight History:
Norio was given his mantle in a somewhat roundabout manner. His mother was asked to come to the Palace and see if she could find someway of waking the young Princess from her slumber but could do nothing more than report that some form of “dark influence” was keeping the Princess trapped in her slumber. A somewhat common sensical enough prediction but it did little to soothe the Queen who wished something to be done to help her daughter. In an effort to comfort the Queen the Planet Guardian of Mars did recommend her son come to the palace and attempt to put up wards around the sleeping Princess in a last ditch effort to dispel the evil forces surrounding the child. The Queen eagerly agreed and the King was quick to offer to bring the young man to the Palace to see if he could be of any assistance.
The King unlike Sailor Mars and the Queen was quite sure that the young policemen would prove of limited aid in dispelling the dark forces keeping his daughter prisoner but he had a slightly different job in mind for the mystical young man. He was sure that young Norio would be a fitting addition to the ranks of the Metallic Knights and set about preparing quite the creative test for the practical young man.
After asking Norio to come to the Palace and attempt to dispel the dark forces surrounding the Princess, which to the great disappointment of the Queen proved to be of little use. Norio himself took the failure quite harshly as he was genuine in his desire to see the young Princess freed from whatever dark fiend had her in his thrall. It was to this end that the King gave Norio a task to create a mystic object with iron from the Red Planet that would be used in defense of the people of the Kingdom. Norio and his mother both worked hard to forge the object ( the first to be creating being the Blood Bane sword ). As he worked within the Forge with the Sword Norio seemed to slip into a trance and before he knew it he had created an entire suit of armor fit for a Mystic Knight.
After the Armor was forged the King shared his true mission for the Son of Mars. Norio would join the ranks of the newly formed Metallic Knights and with his brothers protect the Kingdom while the newly awakened Senshi attempted to free the Princess from her slumber.
