i had a thought recently, yes i know that it is dangerous when that happens please wait a moment, of doing something rather silly and crazy at the same time.
I had remembered that no matter how boring and obsolete tavern RPs were, people kept going back to them for killing time between RPs. I later thought of the zombie RPs that we had been talking about before and then had an idea
Shawn of the Dead tavern type scene, short zombie skit in a bar (hopefully american for more guns than one illegal gun the bartender keeps) so that we could have the conversation type scene while having a massive panic/survival type scene.
any thoughts on rethinking the tavern RPs? yay? nay? please dont shoot me in my little pea brain, im not a zombie yet >.<

but...
it left a parting gift before it ran away.
I was watching a movie on netflix called The Secret and had a thought of using it in an RP to a bit more of an extreme that you get what you wish for a little faster than you are expecting.
a bit of a Magi anime type setting but a little less ballistic magic involved. The majority of the idea is based around what the character thinks and feels about situations which have a direct effect on the world around them. It would take a bit of planning to create a world that the magic didnt respond immediately to the will of the players, but i think it would be interesting XD
i was thinking that there might be 3 variants of characters
Lovers: helps change the world by fixing the problems bit by bit. It is slow process but they make things work. With them around the world is not just sugar coated but truly delectable all the way through.
Fighters: Straight forward, ready to go, these people use their efforts to change things. These get things done the slowest out of the three groups but are not bored in what they do. There is always something more that they can do as there is always something to do.
Dark Wonders: not always understood, weird to the bone, these can range from hippies to gothic people. They dont really care what the common person thinks of them as they dont think from within the same world as them. When someone says "think outside the box" it is hard for them not to laugh as they live so far outside the box that most have lost sight of it. Often those who enjoy their world the most even if others dont enjoy it.

im still lost somewhere in the world of the last concept... sorry >.<
I had thought of a name and story plot for the RP but so far it is just a pretty rapping on the box
Title: "Your Wish is My Command"
Setting: the world had not known the nature of the law of attraction and have brought forth pain, agony, illness, poverty and some people were so messed up that they would commit suicide and unleash a real demon into the world. There was little hope for anything more than the end till some people who finally would have a bit of fun in the world that had turned in on itself. The image of the world scarred into the minds of the people that things seen as "good" or "better" are often met with hostilities by those who have given up hope on the world.

The first one, the tavern Shawn of the Deadisque type RP works though am not a big fan of tavern RPs myself since it really isn't going anywhere in the long run and takes more effort than a simple DnD adventure. Also I just...don't see it becoming much different than a spamfest thread but at the current rate this guild is going, we be lucky if we could actually run a spam thread.
The 2nd, I dunno, it doesn't feel much concrete even with class system, maybe I just don't get how the premise of this magic concept works, are people going to have simply thought bubble imagination than turn into reality and that this magic works it for them in this post-apocalyptic world? I find that this maybe the quintessential example of why freeform RPs are very difficult to moderate by GMs/Guild Crew. It can easily run amok if not watched carefully.
Well I'm a bit tired and ahve to leave away for 3 days...if my absence really mounts to anything at this rate, my momentum to stay here is waning to be honest. Keep trying, or go see how much it'll catch on.

I am sorry to hear that, I hope you will enjoy your time off and that I might could get some activity going for you to have a welcome surprise when you come back the first one was just a filler idea for spamming between posts... Though I thought it more interesting to have an actual topic and chance to die would give it a bbbbiiiiitttttttt more meat to the bland crackers that is a tavern RP XD I was not really done with the thoughts of the power of positive thinking. The concept of the classes was just a concept for how the magic would change the world. Here is how I view it. This is a social experiment where the character doesnt have but their emotions and interactions between people and the person reading it decides how much emotional energy that character has to change the world. It would probably work best in groups of either 3 or 6 so that the two people interacting are not judging the other's post. Based on a concept of negative emotions bring negative activities and positive emotions bring positive activities, the Genni's make decisions based on the person's emotions and actions. Basically, you have God Mod energy within you, but the way things interact with that energy is always a surprise and out of your control XD

I once RPed it with a neckbeard of RPers; not exactly the "The Call of Cthuculu" kinda theme though, but close. It's a great RP, though I feel it's suited for beginners.
