Keeping a secret identity is difficult for many heroes and some villains. Especially when some of your friends are just as brilliant, if not more so than you. Slip once and they are onto the secret. Jonathan Price already slipped up on a terrible excuse for a new Green Arrow suit when he cashed in a favor from Anthony Mitchell, but what will his reaction be when he figures out he isn't the only one hiding?

Three years, two weeks, and four days since Anthony met Jonathan Price. They became friends a few weeks later. Anthony saw an equal in Jonathan. Their IQs were almost the same, and together they were able to solve complex puzzles and mysteries. That was their pastime, and they both enjoyed it. They often held conversations that confused most who overheard. A large portion of their conversations were exchanged in such a way that left lesser minds baffled.
A business partnership was how it all started, and a year and seven months later, Jonathan let something slip. It was accidental, and Anthony knew that, so he kept quiet about it. Jonathan came to him for help, requesting an upgrade to a suit that should have been out of commission. Why? Because Oliver Queen, like Bruce and Damian Wayne, d**k Grayson, and Tim Drake, was gone. Green Arrow's uniform, were it to go into a museum, like Jonathan claimed, would not need an upgrade. The original suit should go in as is. Anthony played it off like he believed the story, and did his best to upgrade the suit. It was at that point that Anthony knew Jonathan was taking up Green Arrow's mantle, just as he'd taken up Batman's.
It's been three years since they first met, and they were both now prone to showing up at random at each other's places. Whenever Anthony had time to spare, he paid his friend a visit, and vice versa. Anthony was low on time, however. There was a crisis at Wayne Enterprises that was taking most of his time. He, of course, spared a few hours at night to patrol the city and make sure everything was okay, but most of his time was spent dealing with the problem in the company. He'd been up for near forty eight hours straight, and it was taxing on his mind.
On one of the trips out as Batman, he'd gotten into a fight with a power box. That is, to say, one of his enemies had used electricity against him. His suit was insulated, so he didn't feel it, mostly, but it fried part of the circuitry in his left glove. It was on the desk next to him, the wires freshly replaced and functioning. As soon as it was done, he'd gone back to the computer to finish his work, making a mental note to take the glove back to the cave later. A proximity alarm went off, and Anthony checked the cameras to see who it was. Spotting Jonathan's vehicle, he turned the alarm off to let him pass and waited.

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: Wonder how the Big CEO of Wayne Enterprises is holding up OOC:It's not everyday that Jonathan Price got to take a trip to Gotham City. Although he tried to keep in contact with his friend and fellow CEO Anthony Mitchell, he was really busy, both as a CEO and as a vigilante. The armor Anthony got for him really helped, but Jonathan had his suspicions that Anthony knew more than he let on. Years ago he had contacted his friend to ask if he could make an armor for him and Anthony asked why he would need it. Jonathan came up with the most BS excuse and Anthony seemed to have accepted it. But Jonathan knew he was stupid to think that creating a suit for a museum piece wouldn't tip him off to his actual purpose.
Unlike Anthony, Jonathan had no such suspicions that he had something similar to hide. Though he had heard on the news that a new Batman had been spotted picking up the slack that the original has left behind when he disappeared. Jonathan figured the new Batman must of either had enough money to afford the toys he's using, or is using a back stock that the original left behind. But his leads kept coming up empty, and it was frustrating him to no end. He figured to turn to a man he knows will have some answers about this, and would look at the evidence with fresh eyes.
He pulled into Wayne Manor and got out of his Ferrari, locking the doors and letting himself into the mansion. He would find his friend working on something on his computer, and Jonathan figured it was business related. Of course, he took mental note of what was around him, including a glove on the desk that looked oddly similar to the Dark Knight's own. He didn't mention it, but he instead announced that he was here, "You looked frazzled Anthony. Thank goodness I came here in time. I got your message that you may need some help in a crisis dealing with your company, but why couldn't of this been done over Skype video chat?"
Jonathan had a clue on why. He didn't have the time to chat while he was sorting out his issues with his company. Jonathan would of done the same thing, although if Anthony had been a bit quicker in responding, he could of had a good night's sleep. Would really help the thought process.

Anthony tore his eyes away from his monitor and rubbed his right eye with the heel of his right hand, yawning. He was tired, and he wasn't even going to try and hide it, not that he'd be able to if he wanted. He offered Jonathan a smile. "Thanks for coming," he said. "Something like this can't be done over a skype call." Jonathan was right, he was frazzled. He wanted to, he tried to sleep, but there just wasn't time. The board was pressing him to take action against this apparent finance issue. Between that and Batman, he had no free time. He could only stay up so long, though, before he lost the ability to figure out a seemingly simple problem like this. Maybe he'd be able to function better if he drank more coffee, but the smell made him nauseous, even if he liked the taste.
To his left were a small stack of folders, which he grabbed and held out to Jonathan. "I'm almost entirely certain that someone's stealing money from the company, but I'm having trouble tracing it back." Whoever it was was good at covering their tracks; good enough that his tired mind wasn't able to figure it out. Having Jonathan here would no doubt get him an answer. "I've got a few files on the computer as well you could look at if you need to."

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: Wonder how the Big CEO of Wayne Enterprises is holding up OOC:Well that's not good to hear. Anthony currently frazzled state has left his mind very unfocused right now, and that's not a good thing for him or anyone in the company. Since he's not thinking right, it would mean he could of missed some very important details and thus he could make some of the wrong decisions which would mean disaster for his company. No wonder he needed his help. Who better to solve a mystery than two geniuses huh?
So Jonathan took the files and started looking over them, his eyes kept drifting onto that glove though. Though he was sure it was Batman's, the coincidence of his glove being there and Anthony's frazzled state is too much to not notice. And he's sure Anthony wouldn't of made such a mistake unless he wasn't getting enough sleep. So, as mentioned before, he will keep the discovery under wraps.
"Hmmmm, very interesting," he finally said, "Looks like he or she has been stealing money from your company for a while. It was a small trickle at first, which wouldn't be easy to notice because of the sheer amount of money Wayne Enterprises is making, you could miss a thousand or two or even ten thousand just disappearing in the blink of an eye. And he was smart enough to not do consecutive day by day thefts. He would steal from the company every couple of weeks. Now if what I am thinking is correct," he said as he went to the computer and opened up some of the files Anthony had, looking up something specific, "There, these didn't start happening until over a year ago. Whoever's embezzling money from you, they were hired around that time."

Having a date helped narrow it down. There were records of all the employees, including when they were hired. He brought up the files of the employees hired around the date Jonathan had found. To say they would be fired when found out would be one hell of an understatement. Anthony would make them pay, somehow.
"Now, we just need to figure out which of these..." he paused to count how many there were, "nine people did it." They weren't all hired by the same department, which would help in narrowing it down. "Which department did you say it originated from?" Did Jonathan say? Maybe they needed to look over the files again. The employee files stated that two of the nine were hired into WayneTech, three of them into Wayne Entertainment, two in Electronics, and two in Chemicals. That was the annoying part. When he had been looking, he hadn't seen which branch it was coming from. He'd only seen it draining from the collective finances.

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: Hmmmm, not only do you take up the Batman's mantle, you're also taking up his mindset. OOC:Well that wasn't so easy. And Jonathan knew it, but thankfully Anthony had all of their files saved, from when they started working the company to now. And he honestly would of done that too in Anthony's situation, because of the fact it makes good business sense to do so in a situation like this. You have to protect your assets after all so you don't end up losing it all. And although what Wayne Enterprises has lost is somewhat paltry in comparison to what it rakes in, you can't keep a good reputation if people know they can just saunter in and embezzle your company.
"I didn't say what department yet," Jonathan answered as he went back to the computer, looking for the source of where the money has been going. After a bit of searching, he had pinpointed the source, "All the money has been coming out of WayneTech. It would honestly make sense, as most of the time, that's where a good portion of your money is coming from, so a would be embezzler would go to the place where he can pilfer the most without anybody noticing. And you mentioned two of them are hired there. I would honestly investigate those two employees, as they have the closest connection to where the missing money is. One of them will crack when they realize that you're onto them and they slipped up when they tried to cover their tracks."
Jonathan then stood up and went near the table to stretch a bit as he took a look over at the table, "And speaking of slipping up," he said, reaching over and holding up the glove that Anthony was working on, "Next time you're working on equipment for your double life as Batman, make sure to hide it before you have guests over," Jonathan waited to see Anthony's reaction before continuing, "Oh don't worry, I won't tell anyone, you were also sleep deprived so a small thing like this would of slipped your mind. Although I should be mad that you didn't tell me you were the Dark Knight, I understand that sort of thing is something you don't just tell somebody over Skype. I mean can you imagine that conversation 'So things in Wayne Enterprises are looking great, by the way I'm Batman'. And don't tell me this is just a glove you managed to find at a nearby Gotham Toy Bin because the wiring is way too complicated for a child's toy."
Then again, he's one to talk Mr. I need an armored suit for a GA Museum'.

WayneTech. That was where Anthony had started working, when he started working at the company. Of course it would come from there. Of course, it was just coincidence, but that didn't mean he liked it any more. Still, now it had been narrowed down to two names, and he would get the truth out of one of them. Maybe this meant he could sleep now, and deal with it after he woke up. He wouldn't be much good getting information from them if he was half asleep. Maybe he also needed to get better at functioning without sleep, in case this happened again, and he needed to be up for days.
Then Jonathan grabbed the glove Anthony had forgotten was on the desk, calling him out on it and saying to hide it next time. Anthony sighed, a trickle of dread starting to fill him. He'd messed up, big time. He'd managed to keep the secret from Jonathan for, pretty much, their entire friendship. Now, he was tired, and he'd outed himself. He reached over to snatch the glove from Jonathan's hand, not saying anything as his friend continued. "It was better that you didn't know," he said simply. "I prefer that when we talk, it's Jonathan to Anthony, not Jonathan to Batman." He knew Jonathan wouldn't do that, though. Jonathan had a secret of his own: he was Green Arrow. It probably wouldn't have changed anything if Jonathan had known he was Batman. It didn't change anything when Anthony found out Jonathan was Green Arrow.

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: Well we both slipped up OOC:Eh, Jonathan figured his bullshit excuse wouldn't fly. Or perhaps he purposely said that to let him in on a secret without anyone else knowing. It was a possibility, and it was one Jonathan will admit could be partially true. They were alone, and he was honestly didn't know what to say in response to Anthony's questions, so he just said the first thing on his mind to let him in without letting him in. Looking back he could of done it in a less than obvious fashion. Maybe a note with a green arrowhead or something? Ooooh that was a good idea.
"Eh, Jonathan to Anthony is all I really aimed for my friend. It's also a good thing you don't refer to me as Green Arrow in person, because obviously you knew all along. I just wasn't very good at keeping the secret hush hush around you. You figured it out right away. Thank goodness we weren't in a crowded room or I might not be in a wonderful situation right now."
He let the glove be taken out of his hands and he looked at Anthony with a smile, "I take it you got trained by the original Batman and his adopted family," he said, a statement not a question because it had to have been true, "Well anyways, you should get yourself some sleep. You look like you've been through a car wreck. I'll just make myself at home. Trust me, I won't go find any trouble."
As much as Jonathan's curiosity would tempt him to find the Batcave, that would betray Tony's trust. And Jonathan isn't about betraying friends, especially since this was a huge secret that Jonathan should be keeping under wraps.

As Jonathan spoke, Anthony wondered if his 'accidental giveaway' of his secret identity had been accidental after all. It was very possible that Jonathan had been so obvious about it because he wanted his friend in on it too. If that were the case, though, why not say anything else about it afterward? Jonathan had his reasons, Anthony was sure. There was always a reason. Except for when there wasn't, which didn't happen much.
When Jonathan mentioned the original Batman and his 'adopted family', he wondered how much he had already known, and how much he put together just now. Did he know about Bruce being Batman before? Knowing about Bruce would out the rest of the family, as he was the core they all came from. Finding out about Bruce, all you had to do what compare his adopted sons to the famous Gotham heroes(and one anti-villain) and the similarities were obvious. So much so that you'd wonder how you didn't notice it before.
Anthony found himself thinking of Damian again. The teenager had been his teacher, and his friend. Bruce had taken him under his wing, but it was Damian he ended up spending more time with. Despite Damian being nine years younger than him, Damian was one of his closest friends, and losing both him and Bruce had been hard. To be quite frank, Anthony still couldn't say for sure that he was over it. Being in Wayne Manor helped. The way he saw it, it was better that he had it than someone else who might change it or tear it down. At least he could preserve their memories.
"What made you pick up Arrow's namesake?" he asked. Now that it was out in the open, Anthony had questions. Questions he'd wanted to ask before, but hadn't been able to. "Did you train with him too?" If he did, Anthony knew he wouldn't be on par with his marksman skills. Anthony was trained with basic knowledge of most weapons, including guns, swords, escrima sticks, and, of course, batarangs. He was far better at wielding a sword than a bow or a gun, thanks to being trained by Damian. Unfortunately for him, there wasn't much use for swords as Batman.

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: Well we both slipped up OOC:Well a lot of things added up to Jonathan pinning down Bruce Wayne as the original Batman. There wasn't many multi billion dollar corporations in Gotham, and all of Batman's gear would cost a lot of money. And everytime that Batman is sighted, Bruce Wayne isn't around. There were many other things that would make Bruce a prime suspect to being Batman. And if he was Batman, it could mean that his wards d**k Grayson and Tim Drake were both Robins at some point in time and his son was Damien.
But when Anthony asked about his connection to Green Arrow, Jonathan closed his eyes and sighed, "I first met Oliver Queen in Star City, for the sake of a Business trip. He and I got along, and I had a feeling he saw something interesting in me, for he invited me to attend high profile parties, nights at the opera, and gave me advice on how to run Price Industries. But then Star City was destroyed by a machine beyond measure on the Richter scale, and soon after, I received a map to the middle of nowhere and decided to follow it. It ended up being a secret bunker that belonged to Oliver Queen, and it was his last message. He unmasked himself as Green Arrow and told me that the reason why he did all of this was to gauge me as his successor. So he gave me all of his possessions as Green Arrow. I took up the hood for several reasons: Green Arrow was my personal hero, and the fact he was also my mentor in business made me even more adamant to live up to his example. And finally, it's my personal belief that those who have either the money, training, or power to do good for the world should do it for the betterment of everyone, not for selfish reasons. So technically, I never trained with him. I developed my skills on my own. I hunted in the forests of Brazil, tracked escaped convicts from prisons in Siberia, and trained with various martial arts masters before and after I inherited Oliver's Legacy. I've learned archery since I was a kid. But my skill with the bow is about the same level as Oliver's without training under him."
His story was different from Anthony's, but in the end, his skillset was similar to Oliver's, but diverged in several areas.

Anthony didn't say anything as Jonathan explained how he came to be Green Arrow. They both went to their predecessors for business purposes, and found out later that they were superheroes in disguise. Did Oliver and Bruce know each other's successors? Anthony never met Oliver, but that didn't mean Oliver didn't know about him, if Oliver and Bruce were friends. Anthony couldn't say anything for sure, and he wasn't going to guess for Bruce or Oliver.
He tried to stifle a yawn before it left his throat. He could sleep now, but he didn't really want to. He wanted to talk to Jonathan. Their secrets had finally come to light and he didn't want to waste time sleeping when they could be talking. "Would like to see how you hold your own in a fight," he said. He'd like to see Jonathan in action, and not over the news. Maybe they could fight alongside each other sometime. They were already good enough friends that Anthony knew he could trust him in the field. "Maybe you could go on patrol with me later or something," he suggested.

Jonathan Price "I built my company and my life with my own hands. I can take anything that comes my way." Status: Healthy Thoughts: You're not in the best shape for a fight, even if it was for a sparring match OOC:The prospect of a sparring match with Anthony peaked his interests. He can't deny that he wouldn't pass up a chance to see how his friend and successor to Batman could stack up against him. However, there is just one problem: Anthony still has quite the lack of sleep and honestly, it wouldn't be an even match if they sparred right now. And he was sure even in his sleep deprived state, Anthony knew this. So why was he asking right now?
"Honestly Anthony, no offense, but you're not exactly in the right state of mind for a sparring match," Jonathan answered, "You haven't slept in several days. And we both know what lack of sleep does to the body. Memory problems, impaired brain activity, hallucinations, being more accident prone, et cetera. You need to go to bed, as I mentioned before, I'll just wait around until you wake up alright? Can you trust me to not snoop around the mansion?"
Because he honestly wouldn't. Friendship and trust is something he valued greatly, especially when it came to his fellow buisnessman Anthony. He has no reason to snoop around the mansion, even if he wanted to find the Batcave or something. Anthony would show him in time, no need to rush.
