2118; the year where the seas turned toxic, the forests all rotted, and the civilisations of humanity crumbled like fragile houses of cards when all of their nuclear reactors, from some mysterious cause, all had meltdowns and devoured lives like starving giants.
It was the year the world ended.
32 years has passed since the Fall, and those still alive are desperately fighting to stay alive amidst the radioactive ruins of a society long lost. But it is getting better — small villages and cities have slowly begun emerging from the ashes, people are finding new ways to get food and water, and weapons good enough to defend against the nightmarish, mutated beasts are growing in numbers.
Slowly, humanity is adjusting and getting back up on its feet.
For our characters, though, things aren't looking as bright.
One of them have, instead of getting sick and dying from the radiation he accidentally exposed himself to, mutated and gotten strange powers.
Powers to conjure fire from nothing, to freeze objects with nothing but a touch. Powers that, he knows, will get him killed if found out by the other "normal" people, so he's trying to keep them secret.
But every time he uses them he grows stronger, and he won't be able to keep them secret forever...
The other woke up in a crater in the middle of a ruined city with no memories of his past or who he is aside from his own name and a strange, desperate need to go north to do... what?
He can't remember, but something tells him that the strange, almost pattern-like, scarring on his chest has something to do with it...
And then they,
the Fated ones, meet.
