Arius had not heard Shadow coming... He jumped in surprise, then swivelled around and started to tickle Shadow playfully. "Oh yeah? Two can play that game!"

Arius let Shadow go, smiling at her - he loved her just as if she was his own daughter. "You wouldn't happen to know where Rosalina is, would you?"

The roar of waves as she swam through them was great. The weather out her was fabulous for swimming. With that thought she dived and swam down to the bottom of the ocean. The pressure didn't bother her at all. In the sand she found a gold coin. Despite how dark it was down here her siren vision allowed her to see. With that done Rosalina shot straight up and launched out of the water. With that done she decided to head home. Curiosity had her wondering if Arius had cooked anything or not yet. With that thought across she sped home. After a couple of minutes the dock outside her home came into view.

A croak informed her that her beautiful raven was above her. Sam always greeted her when she came back from her swims. Once she got to the dock she put the gold coin on it before pulling herself up. All of that swimming had left her hungry. Rosalina transformed her legs back to that of a human being. Once dried, she put on clothes and picked up the gold coin. The siren walked to the back door of the house. When she opened it the little bell rang. She began to sing a song she had learned from the other maidens of the sea.

Shadow wanted to play now but she nodded her head. She went and tiddled her thumbs. After some time she heard the bell on the door ring. She ran to the door and hugged Rosalina. "Yay your here!" She said happily. She was then foiled by Arius who was done cooking that meant she would have still wait to play.

Shadow looked at Rosaline as she called her miss. She didn't know why she called her miss when she was much younger than Rosalina. She looked at the coin. "Thank you Rosalina." She smiled happily. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to think of Rosalina as a mother or a big sister. She didn't want to make Rosaline feel old or offend her.

Arius fixed plates for himself and shadow, then sat down across the table from Rosalina, smiling at her. "So, are you enjoying your dinner, Rosalina?" he asked.

Just as they had finished eating, the oven beeped. Arius put on a pair of oven mitts and pulled a rich, decadent chocolate cake out of the oven. He cut two slices and put them onto plates, topping each slice off with vanilla ice cream before drizzling chocolate syrup on top.

"I hope you like it..." said Arius as he sat down and began eating. He heard cawing and looked out the window to see Sam perched on the branch of a tree. "I feel bad for Sam sometimes." admitted Arius "I mean, he has us, but he still seems so lonely - hopefully one of these days he'll find himself a mate, start a little family of his own. Everybody deserves to find happiness like we have, after all."
