Town split in two, drastic differences between them.

The high class kids head out on a field trip, bus crashes down town during a gang firing.

8 students survive the accident, in the new area they run into a gang of 8 students from the other high school in down town.

They must work together to get the town back to one functioning city again, and somehow get home unharmed!

Just to give some direction, what themes are the Crew interested in? Action, Comedy, Horror? Steampunk? Highschool? Apocalypse?

well for me, my diversity of desires in what i see in RPs varies so much, that I will start off with what i dont really care to see cause there is only 3 of those that i can think of atm XD

Horror topics are either just gruesome and gory or just predictable suspense concept ideas. I do have an enjoyment for them but in my current set of phases that i tend to go through, i am not in a particular mood for it.

Romantic settings are hard for me to even comprehend what is going on because i simply just dont have the mental capacity to comprehend something i know so little about.

school was evil to me, unless it is something that isnt based around the people as much as the topic like an alchemy school or something, the social settings of school is too dry for me as i buried myself in my books to avoid people who's sense of humor in my state seemed to revolve around someone's misery... yaa from kindergarden to the end of highschool, you could walk through and point out people who get in fights just to make people bleed or to bleed themselves as there were also those who enjoyed pain... there isnt much to do in NC...

Well there isn't much input so I'll add my own.

I'm mostly interested in Adventure, Action, Comedy, Slice-of-life, Drama though that doesn't mean I can't do Romance, Horror, and even some gore.

The themes most interested in are Apocalypse (especially zombies), Good ol' Dn'D/ LoTR, World War II era, Exploration but what really matters to me is the layout of RP of how its executed, managed and organized, basically comes down to me as either free-form (text-based) and Dice/tabletop/mechanical (involves some stat number crunch)

I am highly interested in an 'old school but new twist' setting. One example of such is playing in a zombie apocalypse but playing the role as the undead than your basic survivor where the ultimate goal is to overtake the city, I haven't panned out much this RP game though.

Here's another setting I had in mind.

"Pollution, disease and wars plague humanity and the resources of the world slowly dwindling. Humans relied on robots as their last hope. Eventually, the humans disappear and only exist as 'conceptual beings' like a god. The robots of the new generation now roam the earth and continue to exist not only for themselves but for the care of the planet Earth, as intended by their creators in order to restore it. However, the robots often wonder and question about the origin of their being and whether humans exist and thus begins a journey not only rediscovering their past, but saving the human race, if they can find and prove their existence.

That is only half the battle, how do you suppose the humans can survive in the world already dominated by machines?

RPers take on the role of the AI robots, far more advanced in intelligence and capability. They begin a journey of rediscovery of not only their origins, but saving the humans that have long been lost to time.

well arent we versatile XD. For the way you mentioned your zombie RP and the sensation of feeling like it would be hard to RP as a bunch of corpses, I was thinking of something in the lines of Dragons Eye manga where the infection mutates, wipes their memories clean, sends them into a bit of a fury and makes them very dangerous, hard to kill, and infectious just to breath in the air around them.

I like the idea for your second RP but I would need to take longer to think of how the plot and storyboard layout would be because the first thing that popped into my head was searching for people in cryostasis pods >.<... ya i think i could work with the first idea a bit more even though the zombies would be scraping by at human level intelligence >.<

... i still hate that the manga was canceled crying http://www.mangahere.co/manga/dragon_eye/v01/c001/

Yeah I kinda understand about the difficulty of the 2nd, for one it's revolutionary type of RP and generally most of us are taught to act a 3-dimensional character; robots will not have this luxury generally speaking and we'll most likely be logic based which is why am not aiming to find humans anytime soon and focus more on world-building but leave clues to where the existence of humans will be. It would help make you wonder what the actual state the humans are too. I sometimes wonder if there is a need for a '3rd faction' like possibly mutants or some such for the robots to combat for those more interested in action-based events.

I will probably start helping with scripting a world for the spreading infection but in the mean time...

I was thinking the same thing and went and got a gallery ready 3nodding

Actually if you mean the zombie RP, then no you don't need to think too much of the science, the start of such themes never gave a clear explanation or origins anyway to matter. Basically, the dead come back, and start eating people's brains like cannibals and the only way to stop them is a generic shoot-to-the-head or total overkill of the corpse.

What I need to pan most is to make a structure of how the Zombie players manage their resources very similar to sense of a Strategy game hybrid. Creating hordes, managing them, develop specialize units, tactics, make decisive calls and who doesn't like the prospect of making their army stronger?

I was wanting the characters to be a little more than, "zombie horde A shambled into a store after hearing a noise" and that being an entire post... I know it isnt exactly zombies with my idea but I thought that having characters in the field of what the characters would be playing might flow better >.<

I might could manage it but if we are going with walking dead type zombies there would just be a lot of chess type activities that makes me worry about how well the game would flow... mainly cause zombies aren't really strategists XD

And that is where the difference lie between an average zombie (NPCs) and our Players but I think understand your concern, you want more introspect to being what its like being dead in about I think the same sense as "Warm Bodies" and develop a story there.

Unfortunately, that's not how I (only) invision the RP I set in. It's not so much as trying too hard to be unique because lets face it, people/players do like stereotypes no matter how much quirky we try to make them. Besides, the bulk of the game requires also more end from the GM so its not something to be taken lightly for the staff aside from the stat number crunch but at least keeps them into the activity than "post then forget, then post tomorrow".

The RP actually was intended for an online chat system in mind because it is so easy to fall into inactivity in forum posting (though the later allows more time to planning whereas the former relies alot on improvising) since the apocalypse starts with the players as 'Ground Zero'.

I also considered the plausibility of player drops too but haven't find ways to counter this problem easily

On the other hand, maybe we're overthinking too much and looking at the wrong angle. A theme is only a premise, and it's worth is almost nothing without the activity of its players and staff, like thinking only the gift wrapping; it's pretty but does it make the contents inside as pretty?

Furthermore, if we're taking this only as a side RP as a means to pass the inactive time until the original players come back to answer or else start all over again, then I don't see why we can't start a simple adventure theme thread based on a classic Dungeons and Dragons theme. Sure, it's a little overused, but we get some laughs and thrills in it than staring into a guild that does nothing. I don't even think it would need DM approval if that can be helped like the most main RPs.

I don't like Tavern threads though they hardly really go anywhere. XD
