The room itself is large with two large windows in one wall and an ornate armoire and dresser against the opposite. Adjacent to both stands the bed and the ivy, and the other held the door and a writing desk topped with pens, papers, a porcelain vase with peacock feathers and a box of letters. Next to this desk are a few woven drawers filled to the rim with drying or dried herbs and florals: jasmines and orange blossoms, mostly, along with a stack of exotics, perfuming the room. Pathways to all this was, seemingly, directed by piles of books and study notes and silk-embroidered scarves that glittered in the dim light, giving the illusion that the room was quite cluttered, but practically comfortable, smelling strongly of delicate sweet florals, dusty old books, vetiver and pine in the candles, and an overall cold freshness provided by her small rainforest and the steady airflow.
