SFG- Steal From the Giant, Relics are protected by a strong creature of Grimm, each unique in shape and size. (You will have to work together.)

The giant Arachna, a spider like Grimm creature, protects the relics in a part of the forest where giant webs cover the trees. The Archna is a giant black spider with bone armor plating all over its back and legs. It can call for smaller Grimm spiders called Crawlers.

Even before the test began to steal from the giant, Khanna's sheer claws were on. The moment the test began she was out of the gate running through the forest on hands and feet jumping from tree to tree down onto the ground like a predator unleashed from her cage. Something about this forest rubbed Khanna the wrong way however she couldn't focus on that right now. Dodging the webs on the trees left and right she had to rely on her jungle training to do two things. One find the nearest person in her team, and the second was to gather a sorta of layout information. If possible she didn't want to alert the grimm until she found someone. She eventually took a minute in a tree careful not to disturb the webs too much, or worse fall into them to smell her surroundings. Khanna was a tracker and a close range fighter but she couldn't do anything until she found who she was working with. The moment she could catch a scent she was gone before the crawlers decided to check who was there.

Cora got to the forest as quickly as she could. Feeling partly winded from her panicked sprint, she did a quick scan of the area. She checked her map again, confirming for herself that this was, indeed, the forest. It was where the test had begun... and if she was correct, it was this particular segment that she was supposed to meet her team in. She looked more closely into the details found in the message.

It was a retrieval mission. There was a very prominent enemy in the field, one that guarded the artifact they were to bring back to the school again. From what the message detailed, that particular enemy was a giant spider grimm.

Giant. Spider.

Cora's face paled at the thought and she slowly returned her scroll to the small protective pouch attached to her belt. She made sure her shield was securely on her arm. From its small form which appeared to be a heavily reinforced metal arm brace, it sprang to life and unraveled, shifting very quickly into a curved and round shield. She tapped this metal twice, confirming that it held true and solid. It did, and sounded like a soft gong that rang through the air.

Now... there were supposed to be four of them on this mission. She was not in the mindset to tackle or challenge a giant grimm spider alone. Of all the monsters, those were the ones that scared her. The rest, those that reminded her of beasts instead of insects, were much easier for her nerves to handle and face. She scanned the nearby area, hoping the others didn't start without her. She checked the ammunition she had packed. It was lighter than she usually carried, but she wasn't sure what kind of mission to expect this time around. She wondered what element was best against a large bug. Yet, as she visualized options, her mind and heart settled very quickly on one of the more volatile dust ammunition she carried.

I'll stick with fire. She organized her inventory simply by dust types. She didn't have much, but it was enough. Once she learned how to make her own ammo, it wasn't too strenuous or worrisome at all. The hardest part was getting the materials to make the ammo. Even that wasn't too bad in a city such as Vale.

Should I wait... She looked up again, hoping to find others. She thought she heard motion in the bushes ahead... but she hadn't been able to confirm if it was a person or the wind... It's not safe to stay in one place too long.

She shook her head and started to move. She needed a vantage point, a place to see from and hopefully locate others. A hill might work best. She didn't trust trees quite as much, mostly because of how thick the forest was. She kept her ears open and pushed forward. She hoped not to run into any more grimm than were absolutely necessary. Then again... the mission itself revolved around a giant behemoth. Nothing in the mission details demanded the death of the creature. Perhaps it might be practical to sneak around it or distract and take the relic from it? Then again... if it could bring in help, perhaps not.

"I guess we'll have to see," she reasoned aloud as she moved through the trees and deeper into the forest.

Iris Kenmasutā
Howling wind sneaked a halting bark as the ironclad princess came crashing, shield first, into a tree. Her shield was something of a treasurer to her; as too was her handcrafted spear. The green dust the princess had inserted into her shield's handle allowed for her shield to give off the element of wind which whooshed as it cushioned the impact and safely flouted her onto her feet. From up high she stood at the tree branch and gazed out onto the splendor of the mass forest like a hawk dose its hunting grounds. A glint in her eyes as the click of a button collapses her shield into a tight bar of iron; the clever girl then slipping her shield into one of the matching leather holsters at the side of her waste and freely climbing down from the tree. Iris hadn't seen much of anything while making her jog through the woods except the calmness of the land. Iris also hadn't heard anything else but the clanging of her plated armor. This was kind of getting boring. It had been a good while since she had made progress into the forest so why not take a minute to rest up and remind herself of her mission and team.

Taking out her scroll Iris opened the holographic tablet and looked up the details of the initiation test. "All we've got to do is steal relics and come back in one peace. Sounds simple enough until you add in that nasty Giant Arachna." Iris did hushfully think to herself before the sounds of a stick snapping under weight caught her attention. Her eyes darted over to see what it had been when a little white rabbit with beady blue eyes steeped out from behind a log resting on the floor. "Goodness, don't be so suspicious little guy. You almost had me think you were a Grimm." Zoom; the rabbit worriedly dashes off leaving the girl alone with her own thoughts once more. "Back to my scroll...Khanna Barbados seems like a wild style kind of gal. I can work with that so long as she isn't one of thous girls who's always the most popular with the guys for the wrong reasons. I can't stand that type of girl." Having past provocation towards a new teammate was never good but in a timeline where the future is still unknown there was always the chance of one being wrong about a judgment call. Iris actually hoped that her assumptions would be incorrect. Then there's Cora whom I luckily have already met. I wonder if she will remember me. I'm not to sure I even made that much of an impression when we had met but who knows....and lastly there's Mangetsu Kuroishi..." Her inner thoughts complicated as she gazed at the faunus and his lush onyx hair. His demeanor in his they had taken for his profile picture reminded her so very much of another man she knew a lifetime ago. The memories suppressed themselves as the soon to be huntress shook her head. Theirs no time for the past when the future is presently at hand. Sadly, this truth was also spoken to her by the one Mangetsu Kuroishi reminded her of.

Her mission now was to make contact with her teammates and formulate a plan for the rest of the mission. They don't need to become friends right away, as much as Iris welcomed the pleasure of an ever friendly atmosphere, but they did need to work together in order to win this thing and that's what Iris was all about on this mission; winning. Her older brother had pushed hard to get her and himself to this academy so now it was her turn to do the same. Bravely she did rush past thicket of thorns and by rivers so crisp and clean. This was her time to make sure leaving her kingdom was not for nothing. As she balanced her weight while tiptoeing over rapids by the help of a log the island girl's spirit burned with sure fire to achieve her goal; and entry to the academy being her starting point. After safely stepping down the log onto dry land Iris closed her eyes and focused on the surrounding around her. The rushing roar of the rapids and the brushing winds inhaled into her nose helped Iris to "feel" the world around her in search of a near by teammate's aura. Every living thing gave a distinct color of aura and thought the world is be transparent to Iris in this state the maiden could only be allowed to see so far with this second sight. "I gotcha!" Her eyes open briskly and the island girl quickly ran as fast as she could with the excitement of meeting one of her first teammates.

((Sorru for the long wait everyone. I hope no one is too upset. I've also left my post kind of open as to whom Iris is running to. It can be any of you guys as you wish just know that she'll be coming to you fast and with a friendly smile ^^))

There was movement from a completely different direction now. Cora had only managed to climb up a short hill. In the midst of trees, it wasn't that great a vantage point at all. She turned her arm and the shield collapsed down to the cross bow. She lifted this weapon up and had a thumb on one of the bolts in the pouch at her side, ready to set and fire it into the trees. The cool of the ice-favoring bolt chilled her fingertips. She didn't want a forest fire, and there was the benefit of possibly stunning the incoming target. If it was a grimm, it would be a quick matter to put it down. She relaxed considerably when she saw the form of a human breaking forth from the wildlife with a large and friendly expression.

"Iris!" Cora stood and the bow-arm was lowered to her side. She was definitely not a spider. Still, there was no true guarantee of how close the monsters were or how much further the rest of their team was. Cora really hoped they weren't so far away that they couldn't go together to face the spider. At the moment, Cora was under the impression that no one else had been found, just yet, otherwise they might have come with Iris.

Iris had been nothing but friendly at the Fall Dance. Truth be told, Cora was excited to get to know her better and to have the chance to fight alongside a friend. Cora feared that she didn't make a good impression when they had met last. Near the end, she was very tired, and a part of her was sad that she had chosen to dismiss herself from the dance before it had ended. She couldn't blame herself too much. It had been a long and eventful day full of meeting people after traveling long distances.

"Good morning." Cora welcomed her teammate with a smile. Having someone with her made her feel a bit better about facing spiders. Just a bit.

"I chose to walk this path because men do not fear swords and guns..."

When mangetsu arrived at the forest he took one look at the webs and thick forestry and let out a snort. "Yea how 'bout no..." He said before he spread his large black wings and took to the skies. He soared over the forest until he was about dead center then hovered there as he scanned the forest below him for any kind of movement that wasn't grim, his weapon, deaths requiem, in his hand. He saw a large trail of small birds fleeing where he could sense an aura, probably one of his teammates, rushing through the forest. Sighing he figured he'd get it over with before he flew over towards where he felt a second aura join the first, good two out of three in one area. He quickly flew over and hovered above the small hill just above the trees, they were crazy if they thought he was going to land in that forest, they should have been able to hear his wings flapping or seen as his shadow blotted out the sun. He simply hovered there, his sword in hand. "I'm guessing that you two are my teammates along with the other that should be arriving soon?" he asked in a calm professional tone, while he didn't really like humans as a whole he knew just how disrespectful it was to judge someone just for being different without getting to know the person. So he would at the very least be civil and professional with them until they proved themselves trustworthy enough for him to open up to them.

Khanna kept jumping from tree to tree as she looked to the webs around her. She had the scent of her teammates but now wasn't the exact time she could jump out and see them. Khanna needed information about what she was going to be fighting, precisely where the big spider was and what crawlers seemed to fight like and their number. Khanna kept moving farther from the group but before she left she activated her semblance and jabbed the orb in a tree. With the the orb bloomed she could teleport away to safety. She began to run and jump closer to the webs until she saw a crawler. Her tail wagging back and forth making sure to make little movement to be seen by her prey and found. Her claw was quick a simple swipe that caused the webbing to snap by her as she jumped away and watched the reaction of the grimm. The grim almost bolted to the broken piece of web to fix it and find what did it but by the time it got to check khanna was in another tree watching. Khanna went around continuing this little stunt to other webs seeing if more crawlers came. The various numbers and size being an indicator of where the quarry would be. Seeing a web with many small crawlers of various size and look she smiled, "bingo your that way...." She said bolting out of the trees quickly and running on all fours before she was caught it's seem like she wasted the semblance she put in a tree however she kept it active just in cause she needed it later.

Iris Kenmasutā
Iris had luck on her side for after a few minutes of rushing past nothing but lone lands the island girl would run into a teammate as she jumped out from behind a bush. "Cora! A good day to you too!" The island girl remembered Cora as kind of more of an observer than an actual player of the fall dance but after hugging Cora, Iris had let go of her and recalled her brother painting a different picture of her. "Sorry for leaving you, Copper and Jenos without saying a word last night. I was really tired. You seemed awfully tired too last night. My brother Harthwin wouldn't have had anything to have done with that, right, Alice?"

Iris asked Cora, almost like a hardboiled detective, but before Cora could get to finish with a reply Iris looked up after noticing a rather large shadow passing by. The sun blinding her as she tried to squint for a better look, it was then that luck had shined on the island girl once more this day; and another teammate flew into the scene. "I'm guessing that you two are my teammates along with the other that should be arriving soon?" He, Mangetsu Kuroishi, hovered like some kind of dark angle as the sun caught on the tip of his blade. Did he not like touching ground or did he not like them already? Iris looked onto the faunus with eyes which seemed like a doe's and gave a smiled in reply to his straight to the point demeanor. "You are correct. I am Iris Kenmasutā of the Kenmasutā clan. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Mangetsu Kuroishi." Iris kindly bowed as she introduced herself to the crow like faunus. "Please don't think I'm a psychic or a stalker for knowing your name already. I reread the mission details and looked over the team's profile pictures. I like to stay as organized as possible." Iris gave a cute cheer, hoping to reassure her team she wasn't useless while also trying to stay as proper as she could with them for now. After all a princess must handle herself with grace no matter the situation.

Iris had closed her eyes when she had bowed with her introduction and a good thing too. It was when she did so that Iris was able to see some flower like object clinging to a tree in the aura world with her second sight. "Sorry to cut our intros short..." Iris spoke up after letting Cora and Mangetsu get a word to one another. "But I sense a new aura north by north east, about eighteen yards away and it's feminine. I'm not sure but I think it's Khanna Barbados. We'd better hurry and check it out because she's gone out of my range now but she's left something behind, up in a tree, with her same aura signature."

Cora could only nod to answer Iris' question and observation. Iris had seen and guessed correctly for part of that, so the simple answer sufficient for now. Details could be given later if they were to be asked concerning the ball. For now, they had a mission to fill, and now that most of the team was gathered, she felt a lot better about their circumstance. One didn't want to face a unique grimm alone.

Were they teammates? If Iris' studies were to be trusted and what their scrolls told them, then indeed so.

"I believe so. I'm Cora Duncan." To their ally in the sky, Cora gave a friendly smile and introduced herself. He seemed as much ready to get on with the mission as they all did. Perhaps it only seemed that way because he appeared ready to fight and remained aloft. As it was... there didn't seem to be very much time for them to get to know each other very well out in the battlefield. Some things needed peace and a cup of hot chocolate.

Thus far, there was an organized individual, a flying faunus, and... Oh..? Mm.. if the aura that Iris detected was their fourth member, then it would be best to meet up with her. Either way, in a forest that was known to be filled with dangerous wildlife, it was not a wise idea to leave anyone on their own for very long. There wasn't much time to lose. The longer they waited, there was the chance that the mission would become more difficult. No sense giving the enemy more time to gather for an ambush.

"We should find out if she needs our help." If it was an innocent stranger, then the mission would get more complicated with the effort of protecting the civilian while trying to complete the mission, or canceling the mission in the efforts of seeing them to safety. She hoped this wouldn't be the case, as both options were uniquely dangerous, and one more so than the other.

Cora turned her attention back to Mangetsu. She guessed that wings had speed, which was something of particular advantage here. "Sir, you'll probably be able to find her more easily than we can. Do you feel comfortable flying over the forest for long?"

Once she had his answer, she turned to Iris. If he was above, they would have to follow below. There was no guarantee they could keep up, yet if it they went as a group, with eyes above and eyes below they would find the aura that Iris felt. "Iris, can you show us the way?"

Mangetsu nodded to them both before he heard cora's question, she seemed nice enough, while the other was polite and kind, he could tolerate them. "Yes I will be fine as I have been flying since I was young so a couple hours of flight is fine," he said before he prepared to ascend. "And as I could see the confusion on your face miss iris I didn't land because there's webbing down there, and if it gets on my wings it will impair my flight," he said with a small smirk before slowly ascending. "When we arrive at the mission objective I will provide aerial support and covering fire, as my sword turns into a railgun, that is everything that is essential to know at this time, oh yes and at the moment I have the minor ability to use pyrokinesis so if you see fire moving, know that it's me," he said as he gave them both a minor overview of what he was capable of before he took off above the tree's looking for the excitable tiger faunus.

"Beast? I take that as a compliment."
▀▀▀▀▀▀ ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ ▀▀▀▀▀▀

Khanna kept running on all fours dodging webs, keeping to the shadows, and keeping the noise down to a minimum. Her aura flower was blooming her next act was to teleport to the flower of aura as soon as she got all the information she needed. Taking a break in a tree she looked at her scroll to see her team for one moment before putting it away and moving again. However her movements were the opposite to the way of where she'd think her quarry was more like she was trying to get away from it.

With a grin she moved under tree roots keeping in the shadows of a big tree. Her prey was one crawler away from the webs where it could call for friends. It was a bit of an older crawler from the size of it and looks. Khanna carefully waited for it to see it's back and markings. It didn't have spines on it's back like other crawlers see saw so to her it was like how some grimm and spines on its back and others did. Khanna was careful her sense of the hunt sharp as she looked, listened and smelled around to see if it was alone. She grabbed a big rock and slowly climbed up the tree next to the crawlers web. "Let's see how spider like you really are..." She said licking her lips ready as she got ready to dance.

With an underhand toss she'd throw the rock into the web quietly near the ground and near her as she moved down the branch. As the crawler went to investigate the movement in the web khanna moved to the edge of the branch her sheer claws ready as the crawler got into position. With a quick pounce khanna got on the back of her prey her claws digging into the Cephalothorax of the grim as she began to ride the spider. "I was right... you can't get me off you back can you." She said as the spider bucked and ran a bit but khanna's claws were deep as she continued to ride it like it was an eight legged bow that could walk anywhere. However when it tried to climb the tree khanna would punch it with her free hand to knock it back down. She'd keep it to the ground for a bit as she tired it out. When it was tired she lifted it over her head. "Say goodnight!" Khanna grounded herself as the spider squirmed, the propulsion on her free hand began to charge. Khanna kept the spider still as the jet gained the momentum needed. When she was down she slammed down the spider and immediately used Sheer Claws jet function to punch it hard into the ground with a jet powered slam. The result was like killing a spider with a hammer, not very pretty for the spider. Khanna used enough force the ground gave off a small shake.

--Sheer Claws - A set of twin armor melee claws that go from Khanna's hands all the way to her shoulders. When not in use the two claws fold into a compact glove and bracelet combo. When in use however they appear as three digit claws with the index and middle finger in one digit, the ring finger and pinkie in the next, and her thumb in the last. In the palm of the claws is a sort of condenser, release, and stabilizer. The claws are made for slashing and punching but have it's one offence as well as doubling as an ample defense for her arms. Inside each claw are six dust cooling champers that prevents her weapon from overheating and burning her arms. Hidden in the "fur" of the claws are several dust vents and intakes, when activated depending on what was active causes two things to happen which are called Jet and Roar.

The common of ability, known as "Jet" is that it uses the vents as propulsion jets allowing her either quick boost of forward momentum for a charge attack though not with as much power as it could have, and can only go forward when used this way. Another use for the same ability is after she has grounded herselffirmly, and charged the jets for a small period (1 post) which lead to a powerful single jet like punch, uppercut, slam or stab capable of powerful knock back. Using the claws for this ability doesn't overheat the claws much however after each jet attack the cooling chambers eject for a tiny bit of time (1 post) before going back into the claws for her to use again.

Iris Kenmasutā
Iris didn't quite know how to respond to Cora's honesty to her earlier question. Harthwin didn't say much about what he and her teammate had done that night, only that they had a fun time. It was only by whispers of misguided students that they had mentioned something about Cora and Harthwin, which in turn worried Iris. Her brother has been through much recently and Iris worried for her brother's venerability. Sorrow can drive a man to do some stupid things sometimes and Iris only hoped her brother hadn't done just that. "I'll have to ask her a few things about what happened the night of the ball, but later."

Right now the island girl knew there was a mission to be won. Mangetsu replied to Cora's tactful question with an up lifting answer. But then came the sly reply to Iris' silent question. Mangetsu apparently could read people very well which left Iris wondering weather she should be pleased to have a keen eyed enforcer type such as Mangetsu on her team or a little insulted that she was so easily readable to his "keen eyes". Iris picked the first two of the options, seeing as he'll be on her team and such a skill is essential when dealing with more political situations, as Iris noted Mangetsu's words on lift off. "So he's air support is he." Iris internally spoke. "I'll be sure to take that into account when moving around on the battlefield. Don't want to jump too high and then get in the way of his bullets, his fire attack or downward sword swings. Iris was actually very grateful for the heads up from Mangetsu. Her own style of combat was more defensive and supportive so knowing how she can place herself in useful positions on the battlefield was always helpful; and learning of a weakness in their teammates to be mindful of was also good to know for this battle medic.

"Iris, can you show us the way?" Iris turned her eyes off of the high scouting black feathered faunus and smiled happily to her fair skinned friend whom stood like a true warrioress of ironclad. "Yes. Everyone, please follow me." Iris remembered the lay out of the trail, where every bush stand planted and every small animal nearby, and so she swiftly rushed through the pine forest like a hound dog on the scent of the hunt. "Don't worry Khanna Barbados, help is on the way." And judging by the quake of the earth as the trio approached the tree where Khanna's most curious flower bud grew they would be meeting her very soon.

Cora Duncan
Grace is Power

Can you see the light?
As far as the eyes can see
From this point above the world
Where mortals dare their destiny.
As it radiates
May I witness open-eyed
Let me remain where there is light.

Then they were off and into the forest. With eyes above and below and a direction they were headed, progress was being made in their mission. The density of the webs also seemed to increase the further they pushed inward. Every once in a while, a fallen grimm was found, a corpse that had been dispatched by someone or something. This was more encouraging to Cora. A hunter was in these woods, which increased the odds significantly in favor of the individual being their teammate.

Cora drew out a simple flame-laced bolt and held it in her right hand. If she needed to use it to fire, she was happy to and much preferred having it handy. The dead spiders were starting to effect her nerves and unsettle her. She hoped that it wouldn't bother her as much... Well, maybe this would help her get used to creepy monsters. If she and her team could handle giant spiders, then surely they could handle anything. That was a very positive thought.

The ground shook. Cora's first thought, and worry, was that the earth shook because of the footsteps of a giant monster. It did not continue as footsteps would have, which discouraged that theory and erased it pretty quickly. They couldn't be far now. Something was going on.

Sometimes the only way to keep the fire going is to outrun the wind.

Khanna Barbados †
"Beast? I take that as a compliment."

Khanna dusted herself off after executing the crawler with rather extreme prejudice. However that little shake was probably going to alert more crawlers to her location but it didn't matter to her. The flower was in complete bloom looking like a jungle barbados lily. Khanna awaited a bit to see a few crawlers rushing to her location as she turned, her aura slowly expanding as she smiled. "Three... two.... and one." With a bow to the pouncing crawlers she activated her semblance, The jungle swing. In a flash she was gone out of the crawlers radar.

The flower of aura that she left in the tree began to abruptly get bigger and bigger before it popped into a cascade of petals revealing one tiger faunus sitting in a tree with her tail wagging. Khanna had teleported to the flowers location almost instantly from where she was in the forest that was her escape plan as she looked down at the two under her, her ears picking up the light wing-beat from the one above her. With a bit of a whistle she called to her teammates as she laid on her back in the tree, "looking for me?" she asked smiling had completed what she had to do as she moved to hang upside down. "I suggest not going further past the point without a bit of information from me... unless you want to be knee deep in a bad situation. This is the edge of what I can tell is their territory... the webs before her are old few molted exoskeletons a few dead crawlers from other teams but if you continue past her you'll start seeing lots and lots of crawlers at all sides." She explained still hanging upside down. To khanna this test put her in her element she was raised in jungles and forests, being in a forest might as well been breathing to khanna, "I scouted ahead to see. Not very pretty without a proper plan." She spoke like she already had something in mind.

combat info
--Jungle Swing - "A Self-Teleportation semblence the creates a 1 ball of aura, on top of a spear-tip like aura. Khanna shoots the spear ball at an object that can't produce an aura. The spear embeds itself in the object and the ball of aura begins to beat like a heart. For a bit of time (2 posts)after the spear embeds itself the ball on it will bloom into a jungle flower. With that Khanna can teleport herself to that flower causing it to burst into petals. However after the act of teleporting she can't use it again for another bit of time (2 posts). She can not teleport to a different area she is in, and if the "seed" is destroyed before the flower blooms she has to make another seed and spear and restart the process. If the spear hit an object that produces an aura, it hurts about as much as a big bug bite before disappearing. Can only be used to teleport herself."
