A ball for new and returning students celebrating fall!
This is a separate RP from everywhere else.
A few rules: -No physical fighting. Verbal matches are fine, but this is a fun dance. Let's not ruin it for everyone. -Don't leave people out. If it's clear they're waiting for a specific person to reply, then its fine to leave them. However, if they are alone, try to drag them into the RP. -Have fun. This is a dance and I won't have any frowny puppet masters, dammit! No, but seriously, enjoy yourself. Its one of the few times you'll be able to develop your character beyond fighting.

He loosened up his collar a bit to allow him to breathe a little easier. The outfit was form fitting, yet it also left enough space to move a little freely. The young man looked around seeing that people had already begun to show up, which was a good thing in his opinion. Michael walked over to a table that held an assorted amount of food and beverages, which he got him self a cup of water for the time being, before turning around and looking at everything. The decorations were well done, and the music for the most part seemed to be to everyone's liking. "Well either way this is a good thing. I mean we can't always just fight, and be warriors. It's a good thing to just relax and enjoy yourself sometimes afterall." Michael thought to himself as he drank some of the water.
(couldn't really think of much to put since I'm the first one ^^; )

Eric Shields----------------------------<>---------------------------- ----------------------------<>----------------------------Out Of Chacter Just Call me Crimson.... Eric glanced at his data pad according to what it said there was a ball scheduled soon he sighed a bit annoyed. He had known for about a month now and had made preparations for this evening. That didn't change the fact he wasn't nervous to attend, expectantly after isolating himself for so long. Getting up from his bed he rubbed at his eyes and moved to the bathroom to get washed up. When the boy had learned of this even he promised himself he would at least try. After getting dressed he looked at himself in the mirror in the dorm room. A black vest rested over his shoulders and under it was a dark red dress shirt with black spotted red tie that matched the shirt, and finally a pair of black pants. The amber eyes glanced up and down at the figure in the mirror surprised at how well he looked, even the cold look of his eyes were softened hiding the dark history they had seen. His lips formed into a grin before he turned and left the room waving at his team mates as he did.
Stepping into the ball room he continued forward glancing back and forth to get an idea of the place. It was large he thought to himself and relatively empty at the moment though he guessed it was just because he showed up a bit early as he like doing. Moving to a table he filled a cup with water and began sipping at it. Pushing way an annoying strand of dark blue hair from his face which looked nearly black with is outfit he glanced over at the guy who stood near by. He waved at him just to be friendly a grin sculpted onto his face which made the small scar on his check stick out just a little more then normal.

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny trotted slowly into the room, impressed with all the decorations and the effort the school went to in order to throw this ball. He wore a red vest over a simple black shirt, and not much else. No one ever made pants for centaurs, after all. The faunus boy wished he could fight stuff, but he was content with the pleasant atmosphere in the ballroom. Danny also figured he could meet some pretty girls here. Then again, dancing might be a problem. Some people had two left feet. Danny had four. Than again, nothing could go worse than that tour he took in the glue factory last month. Poor cousin Steve never had a chance. Pushing that dark image out of his head, Danny went to the dance floor, eager to meet new people, and hopefully, make some new lady friends.

Cora Duncan The doors were opened. The lights and music invited the dancers inside, as also did the colors and motion. Dancing had always been fun, a pastime that she did enjoy. Though... she could only fondly remember dancing with herself.... She did know how to dance. Perhaps that was why she came. She clasped her hands nervously when she determined that she had been seen by strangers. She acknowledged them, smiling. When they turned back to their dance and company, she migrated to the side, staying clear of the dance floor. At least for now she could observe and keep safe distance, right? Perhaps she could be one of those who were watching from the sidelines, like the gentlemen.
Cora paced her breathing. In... out.... in... Alright. Everything was going to be alright. She smoothed the front of her dress and righted her stance again. She could... meet some of her classmates and the other students here. That was another good reason to be here. She could smile at that thought, too. That is the saving grace of humor, if you fail no one is laughing at you.

Daniel Redmond Crane As the music played, Danny began to move in rhythm...or as close as he could get with hooves. He wasn't doing as bad as he thought. He did get a few odd looks from some of the partygoers. It wasn't everyday that one saw a horse hybrid do the electric slide. He liked to dance when he thought it would be fun, even if he wasn't too good. Spotting a pretty girl with green eyes walk in and sit on the sidelines, Danny smiled. Finally! His entire team was a sausage fest, so he felt that some female company was in order. Walking off to the side, the horse faunus grabbed himself a drink, then looked over to her. "Hey there." He said with a smile. "Not much of a dancer, I take it?" He asked. "It's alright. You're not alone. I've got four left hooves, and I'm pretty sure one of them just tripped somebody." He added humorously, trying to break the ice.

Azalea Gemstone Azalea nervously shuffled into the ballroom, feeling as though her clothes were rather flimsy. She was wearing a dark pink and white dress, compliments of her father, instead of the usual thick leather apron she wore. She was loathe to leave Danilaxe back in her locker, but formal events usually didn't involve pickaxes. She sighed. Azalea surveyed the scene before her- a horse boy trying to hit on a girl with brown hair, some scarred guy and an innocent looking one with green eyes both sipping what appeared to be water, and a smattering of other students in cliques. The dancefloor was relatively empty, and the food tables were still relatively full. She made a beeline for the buffet. "Wow! This stuff looks great!" She commented, half to herself, half to the two boys standing nearby. Talking about food was one way to begin a conversation, wasn't it? She piled a few baked pumpkin slices, a scoop of creamy pasta and a piece of chicken onto her plate, and began munching away on pieces of the soft and buttery pumpkin. "Mmmh! You guys should get in on this before everyone else arrives!"

Cora Duncan Cora was startled from her vague thoughts and found herself once more in the real world. It was hard not to notice the faunus, tall and smartly dressed in black and red, suiting him well. Perhaps it was those four feet that he mentioned. It was a unique trait, certainly. Yet, perhaps it was this unique thing that reminded her of her brother.
"I wish I had a good answer for you." She admitted softly, with a sheepish expression. Despite having memories of being taught how to dance, one did not simply stride onto the dance floor. ... Well... perhaps some did. She was not among those who felt so confident. "You are brave enough to still try."
She gestured with a nod to the dance floor. She saw that he had made some attempt and that he seemed pleasant company. Hopefully he didn't walk all this way and interrupt his dancing just for her sake. She absently smoothed the front of the brown dress, a gift intended for formal events. That is the saving grace of humor, if you fail no one is laughing at you.

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny chuckled a bit. "Yeah, but I'm the kinda brave most people would call suicidal and/or dumb." He replied. He did invent a fighting style dedicated solely to using his skull, after all. "If it's stage fright, or something like that, I kinda understand. I used to play violin, but I was super scared of being booed. I shut it out and just focused on how much I liked to play, and things were less scary. Things are a bit better when you just focus on the fun part." He said. "That being said, I still quit playing. It wasn't that I didn't like it, but I learned that the bow and strings were made from horse hair. I could have been playing my cousin Paulie the whole time!" He added, going slightly off topic. The point was to focus on the enjoyment of doing something rather than the pressure of those around you. He still got up to dance, even if he was a complete hazard on the dance floor. "Oh, my name's Danny, by the way." He added sheepishly.

"I guess we're both pretty early huh? I'm Michael Richards by the way nice to meet you." He said with a small smile, before noticing more people come in. A faunus, and a couple of brunettes. It seemed the faunus and other brunette had made conversation, so either they knew each other, or they were just striking up a conversation, which wasn't a bad thing. Michael knew this event was also to meet their peers. His attention went to Azalea, whom had indirectly spoke to them. Th green eyed teen nodded a little bit. "Yea, it does, and no thank you. I'm not really hungry at the moment." Michael replied with a slight chuckle. "I'll probably get something to eat later on, and I'm Michael by the way." The brown haired teen responded in a friendly manner. "

Cora Duncan "I'm Cora." Comfortable again enough to smile, she stood stood and put a hand forward with the intention of shaking hands. "Pleasure to meet you, Danny."
He shared a lot about himself. Though like anyone else, he had fear, he learned to overcome it. For him, it had been as simple as focusing more on the things and aspects he enjoyed rather than the parts he did not. Was that universal? Simply perspective?

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny brought out his hand to shake Cora's giving her a warm smile. When asked about why he used to play violin, he chuckled. "Well, I used to get into fights a lot. Okay, I still do, but against monsters, not people. Some people were faunus haters, and I got a bit rough...in self defense, mind you. Mom and dad thought a hobby would get me to calm down a little, so I took up violin. I still got into fights, but I really liked to play. It made me feel good...until I learned that my kind tend to die in order to make the instruments." He said. "I still love the music. I just don't play anymore. Maybe if there wasn't any horse hair in a violin, I could play it." He thought out loud.

Cora wasn't sure how to console him. She remembered hearing that traditionally, there were some string instruments made from the guts of cats, but as she didn't know or could verify this for herself, she decided not to bring this thought into the conversation. Surely with technology as it was, there was no need to kill a creature to make an instrument? Then again, she could be very wrong.
She still remembered the conversations she would have with her brother concerning the bullies and the simply unfair behavior of others. One would have thought that even in this age, when people were so interdependent on each other, that prejudice and ignorance would have been dealt with. Sadly... she saw and knew firsthand the examples of where this was not the case. Even, on occasion, those who sided with the victims were targeted among them.
She chose not to dwell long on this idea.
"There's a lot of power in music, ranging from a battle cry to a lullaby. It seems like it did a lot of good for you."
Her eyes drifted to the dance floor again, where there was a lot of motion and energy. In particular, there was a lady who seemed to be enjoying every moment, being alive and active, as though she had nothing to lose. That joy seemed almost contagious, given the excitement of the others dancing to the same beat. That is the saving grace of humor, if you fail no one is laughing at you.

Eric Shields----------------------------<>---------------------------- ----------------------------<>----------------------------Out Of Chacter Just Call me Crimson.... Eric saw the wave and watched silently as he approached. Normaly people wouldn't approach him simply because of the look of his eyes scared people. Though today they looked almost normal the cold sad gaze missing from his amber eyes. "Its- ehm. nice to meet you Micheal, I'm Crimson" his voice started out could before he cleared his thoat, doing his best to replicate a more happy tone. He thought he did a pretty good job though you never know for sure. Both his eyes trailed around the room many more had started ariving. Turning back to his drink he took a sip before hearing someone else speak. It was a girl which pulled up about a million red flags in his head some how girls allways managed to find what little emotion he still had left in him. He allmost turned wasy until it was clear she had been talking to bothe him and Micheal. Waiting until Micheal was finished he spoke. "And I'm Crimson"
