I never really did, so this is just a guess and speculation based on how I've learnt to draw in general. Mimicking and practice.

Well it depends on people. For me I just started drawing cartoons and stuff, but it later became more anime as I watched anime. So yeah, probably just subconscious mimicry or something.

Bwahahaha. I learned from copying styles.
I remember the first anime I started drawing was Sailor Moon - I'd start making my own Sailor Scout characters etc.
Then it was Pokemon - that was just blatant tracing/copying of Pokemon but then I started drawing eyes like in the anime.
Then Dragon Ball Z. That actually taught me how to do folds because the fighting outfits of Goku, Gohan, Picalo and Future Trunks were baggy.
Then Slayers. I started copying the eye style and clothing and how they did hair and hair shading.
After that is when I think I stopped copying those exact styles and started mixing elements from each one to start developing my own :3

ahh, well I guess it's just a style choice I picked up. The first anime I ever watched was Inuyasha! The next day I started drawing beautiful head-shots of Kagome. After time I guess, I looked at other artists and realized that you didn't have to be some pro to draw anime and after that, my 'style' just continued to drift that way due to that being my inspiration to start drawing.. I guess what really defines it as anime is the big eyes and cartooney style... I love drawing in the Anime style because there are no limitations to what a person could look like. Anything and everything is possible! Anime lets my imagination run free~♥

My dad is an artist so he taught me how to draw. My Still Life drawings are actually a whole lot better than my manga style art >.< I just like this style. Although I really wanna be able to draw something that's a little closer to Chibi's style myself. Not exactly the same, but more refined than what I have now...
