Family/friend(s)/allies with: Kings of both Nocte and Lux even to so far as knowing his hidden identity though he has trouble siding either and remains passive when either tries to ask for his aid against the other. He even is understanding and bears no grudge to either Terrae or most other nations, even showing respect to the Gods of the Aquans. The most he has trouble with are his military generals who are growing day-by-day ambitious of military conquest after the 'successful victory' over their Terrae neighbors. Only a handful or the generals remains loyal to him and keep their identities a secret.
History: Unlike most Royals, Huujin did not received the crown as a birth right; he earned it. The girl who had grown interest to him on one party, while he still wore the professional uniform of a soldier, would turn out to be the future queen of Ignis. Little did she knew at the time, Houjin was actually the son of a potter but neither of them were disappointed when the truth came out of their identities. For a time Huojin did well as a young recruit, often making mistakes but learning from them to better himself--a unique quality his superiors admired over recruits. It wasn't until he was promoted a rank did all his knowledge were put to good use and when out in the action to defend from raiders and bandits, he finally showed his combat and leadership skills in battle. He even fought against a Marked who could control lightning, to which he had to adapt its power in order to defeat him.
However, everything back then paled in comparison to what happened next in the chapter of his life. General Houjin couldn't remember who actually started the war but he knew how it ended. Had it not been for his military experiences, Ignis would've left defenseless, even to the point of a pack of an angry mobs the size of small town would be enough to decimate the kingdom. It should've ended the war this way, however his other general compatriots inspired many of the people of Ignis to retaliate in order as they put it 'protect their way of life'. Many of the families that time were anxious to serve justice but Huojin knew they were simply angry for their loss of loved ones; He himself, lost his only son in this war but his pleas to rebuke this counterattack were ignored by the other generals.
Ignis soon invaded Terrae. They won, but only because Huojin decided to take part in this war as he felt a swift victory was necessary; too many sons an daughters have already died but this would be another harsh lesson to him as the death toll of their people rose to such drastic levels, the kingdom of Ignis would be considered the smallest population among all the kingdoms. There was also an ulterior motive to this; he knows the people of Ignis can not disrespect authority so what better authority than to earn his right as King? However there was yet another price to bear; his wife soon died from depression from the loss of their only son, though other accounts claim it was done so by assassination.
Houjin grew tired of this. At this point, the people would only learn power is the only means to get what they want. The last thing he wanted to be was become a tyrant, and so, with the help of few trusted generals, went missing from the throne not long after, taking with him the other royal relatives that were still alive and hid through the tunnels and the court house. Though it seemed cowardly, this action helped Houjin two-fold; one from whoever made 'the assassination attempts' against them will be deterred as Houjin has strong belief it could be their very own people--they may respect ranks but doesn't necessarily mean they like him. The other being that it helps keep the military occupied while trying to retain a firm grasp on Terrae for their resources, thus making them realize some sense of responsibilities over their ambitions or at least keep them too busy from expanding to other kingdoms. Thankfully, he counted both Nocte and Lux to provide his people the means to rebuild their lives.
Unfortunately, Ignis was well-known for their forges and armory, and while they lost many soldiers, they had plenty of weapons in cache which they traded for the goods of both Lux and Nocte--a thing that would put them further at odds with the peace-loving and religious Aquans. What's more, some of his people decided to migrate to other kingdoms in hopes for greener pastures now that authority seemed to be so vague between monarch or military.
Meanwhile, Houjin adopted the name of Iroh and began a new life with a new identity as did most of the royal relatives. It was either that or life in tense secrecy within their own borders.
As Iroh, he initially first stayed in the kingdom of Seve, trying to forget the harsh life back on his own Kingdom and enjoy the other cultures. He grew to like each and every one of their unique traits and so ventured to other kingdoms, even so far as to meet the Marked on some occasions while he was at Nocte's borders. He hoped he could use whatever he learned from the other royals how to best govern back his misguided people. All this time, he never forgot to self-discipline himself either; he wouldn't gotten this far as a old man if he didn't, especially the nice calming effects of warm tea, although there had been occasions his memories escape him and replaced with something else.
Now it was time to return to the kingdom and perhaps reveal himself before the generals find other ways to stir another war; it wouldn't surprise him if their next target will be the water kingdom. More importantly, to find and announce a new heir if Ignis ever hopes to have a real bright future instead of a darker one.
Personality: Contrary to most Ignis, Houjin is easy-going. He was friendly, generous, kind and ever since his visit to Seve and other kingdoms, open minded as well. He can also be quite funny and yet wise, though at times his wisdom escapes him which leads him to sometimes second guess. Fortunately, he is also mature and knows when to act serious when needed. He has no qualms against the marked but unfortunately, he can not allow them to stay in his kingdom, if only for their own good and keep the neutrality between Lux and Nocte. And of course, like any senior elder, he never shys away to give young ones advise or even tall tales. Bew are he could fall asleep anytime though.
Weapon(s): (optional) Fire, Lightning as well though he can not produce this element himself. Unique among other Ignis elemenatlists, is that he can manipulate fires from other elementalists as well with the sole exception of those with the Marked. Even in absence of these, he can resort to bare-handed physical combat and even form into a ball and run you over!

+Military experience and forms of unconventional combat. His old age and obese even adds impression to his opponent to underestimate him.
+Mastery of his elements Fire and Lighting
+Mature attitude lets him know when and where is the best times he can lay back and have fun with others and serious when doing executive decisions.
+Charisma, kids in particular seem to like this jolly old man a lot.
+He values human life, whether be marked or otherwise, he has seen to many deaths to see it be wasted for petty things such as self-ambition.
