Final Scavenger Hunt Scores

Lucian - a s**t ton of points. Winner by a lot.
Janus - 29 points
Ekaterina - 36 points
Tomas - 79 0 points

Tomas was unfortunately unable to procure evidence of their point total, so their score was sadly voided. That may have to do with them both vanishing into the forest and not coming out as of yet, but a game's a game.

Congrats to Lucian, who wins twelve points.

Averill Hammershod

Averill walked past the noticeboard, frowning slightly at the outcome of the scavenger hunt.
"Ah well, I guess it makes our lead a little bit less..." He mumbled as he tried to calculate if that had put Lucian in the lead for house points. Surely it wouldnt...

The strikethrough on Tomas's points intriguied him, so he read the fine print.
"Wait...what? They're not back yet??"

"Nope. Vivian ran into the woods looking for a group which conveniently showed up right after she left, and Sampson was a dumbass and went after her." Naomi fixed a corner of the bulletin. "Ekat certainly didn't win, no thanks to YOU. I was the only one that showed."

"I had family... stuff! I left a note about it!" Averill retorted defensively.
He sure hoped his dad didn't decide to send photos of the family all dressed in dwarven wedding armor by owl.
Someone could intercept it! He shook the thought from his head.
"I'll make it up to you all, I promise." He told her solemnly. Maybe Averill was taking the whole house points thing a little too seriously.
Or maybe his classmates weren't taking it seriously enough!

"So... Are the teachers out searching for them?" He had no idea who Sampson was, but he knew and liked Vivian, and would hate to see her...well...disappear.
Not that you can see someone disappear.
It made sense in his head, okay!

Naomi waved a hand. "It's not important, and I didn't care if we won anyway. If we got more points we'd just have to plan the event next year too, and I don't feel like doing this again." She shrugged, rather helplessly. "I didn't tell the headmaster yet. I was planning to tomorrow, once I was sure they're really gone. Carrmin said Aerykah is fine, but he couldn't find Vivian, so I expect we'll hear of only one missing student." She glanced off down the hall, deciding not to mention that Ariadne had also vanished in front of her eyes the other night without warning.

Averill Hammershod

Averill freaked out a little, scurrying up to Naomi in case she tried to head off.
"Should we ask Vivians housemates if she has reappeared??" He asked, the anxiety of having someone missing made him a bit out of breath. Naomi hardly appeared bothered by it at all.
"How are you so calm! Shes only a first year and the only spell we know is basically how to light up our wands and she doesn't have Aerykah with her to look after her and if she's all alone she would be having a really tough time and if she isn't all alone then...." He took in a deep breath, eyes opening wide.
"What if she got hurt! What if those people that the headmaster warned us about found her! What if a dragon bites off her limbs!" He stood in front of Naomi and raised his voice, clearly getting worked up.
"You're the one who wanted to do it in the forest, and now look whats happened! Vivian could be dead!"

Deviating from the plan was terribly upsetting to Averill, not to mention that fact that his friend was probably in danger.

"Averill." And this time her voice was cold, and quiet. "Calm down. This isn't the first time a student's had to spend a night or two in the forest. And they turned out fine." In fact, Naomi was pretty sure that she hadn't seen Sylvia around for the last few days. She was probably investigating. "The dragons won't attack her unless she provokes them, and I find that incredibly unlikely. Little brat's probably scared stiff of them."

She folded her arms and looked down on the much, much, much smaller boy. "Besides. Tomas students aren't my concern. Ekaterinas are. If Aerykah wants, she can organize a search party. I went in myself the other night to look for them, and someone else up and disappeared too. In front of me. But you don't see me freaking out about it, do you?"

After a moment's thought, she gave him a pat on the head. He was just a first year, after all. "Don't worry so much. Merlin kids are tough, even the ones with the soft chewy centers. Vivian will be fine. If you're so concerned, you can go to the headmaster right now and tell him yourself. I'll even go with you."

Averill Hammershod

Averill took a breath and let Naomi speak. That cold tone was at least serious, even if it seemed to be missing the usual humanoid level of care for others.

Hearing that other students had disappeared in the forest before made it surprisingly less stressful, although he was still worried. It set a precedent, of sorts, that students came out from these things alive.
Just like the dimensional rips, he supposed.

"Shes not a brat" He mumbled after she reassured him in a blunt way about the dragons, but continued listening.
Naomi could be pretty intimidating, he thought, as he wilted a little under her stare. Somewhere part of his mind which was not panicking wondered if she had giant blood in her as well as fish blood, but the thought never made it to the front of his brain.
He gave Naomi a small smile when she admitted that she had already gone out searching, which quickly dropped off his face when she stated that another student had disappeared too.

He was winding up to panic mode again when a pat on the head put him back to earth. He blinked, and nodded.
"Um...yes please. Lets go tell the headmaster."

Wow. He's easier to cheer up than I thought. Ah well, Naomi was never one to complain for an easy battle. "Well, I hope you don't mind stairs," she said. "His office is... really high." She pointed to a staircase at the end of the hall, spiraling upwards. "That way, c'mon."
