- Beatrix was born into the high life. Her parents were both A-list actors who were known by everyone. There was never a dull moment in the Tremaine household. Beatrix was as spoiled as a young child with money could get. Her parents, not wanting her to mingle with the "common folk", shipped her off to a prestigious academy where she could interact with those who were in the same social group.
At first, Beatrix loved the academy. She excelled in all of her classes, she was adored by all the teachers, and the students in her age group. Bea took singing lessons, and she got to the point where her professors and friends would ask her to sing for them and to sing in front of the school. Everything was perfect. Then one day, she got a call from the family butler, James. Her parents had been in a plane crash the week before. They were alive, but had no recollection of their previous life.
When she received the news, Beatrix went into a fit of rage. She threw everything in sight; tables, chairs, mattresses, anything she could get a hold of. The headmistress and a few of the professors had to calm her down before she destroyed another piece of furniture. After that, she resented her presence at the school.
She began to rebel, and afterwards, Bea started to fail in her classes. Everyone hated her, and she was shunned. She began to run away from the academy, and be gone for weeks, if not months at a time. Bea did this for several years, and not have any repercussions when she would return. All the staff and students left her alone.
One day, when out and about, Bea ran into the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He had that perfect look about him: Black hair, blue eyes, a strong chin, and muscles galore. He walked up to Bea, and pulled her aside. He spoke to her in a strange language, which terrified her to no end. When he finished speaking, she promptly passed out.
She awoke to a killer migraine and wondered if the man had done anything to her. She examined all of her body that was in her visible range, and detected no signs of bruising or bleeding. Then, all of a sudden, everything around her was crystal clear. Confused, she began to search for a mirror to see just what was going on. She found a mirror, when suddenly, the man from before appeared behind her.
Bea went into a defensive stance, and told the man to stay away from her. Instead of complying with her wishes, he just laughed. He told her that he wished her no harm and that she had been Marked as a fledgling. Bea asked what that meant, and so the man went into a story of how Vampyres and fledglings lived amongst humans, and how they attended a House of Night.
He told her that she had to attend the House of Night, or else she wouldn't survive for long. Bea excitedly agreed, and they were on their way to Bea's new life.

- Under the skin, Bea is kind, sweet, and caring. Growing up made her realize just how wonderful life could be. She is always quick to help a person in need, and won't refuse if anyone asks for her help. She is only like this with her close friends, and will not be like this towards strangers.
But on the surface, she is cold. Her parents losing their memory made her regret ever agreeing to leave home. She will throw little temper tantrums if she does not get her way, and will be absolutely stubborn when told what to do.
