First things first is Jocelin's reference image, the first reall digital work I've completed.


I was rather pleased with the majority of this image personally, save for the face as it looks flat and hair is something I've always struggled with. Getting used to a tablet is a gap I'm still trying to over come and this image certainly had my hand glue to ctrl + z but it eventually came together, even if I cheated a little by copying pasting and horizontal flipping certain parts. *cough* Legs. *cough*

Total time was around 5 hours, Although broken up over the course of a week and a half thanks to work and general tiredness. xp

She's coming along great Emma!!! Keep up the good work - and you certainly seem to be getting the hang of your tablet really quick!

The only thing I can think of right now to comment on would be the top of her leg where it goes into the ruffles is super straight - she's a curvy lady and your thigh is really a big muscle that curves.

The way I think about it is that the top of the leg really is a socket that follows the line of your underwear, but here's a photo - you can see that the front of the thigh isn't really straight at all and curves/tapers towards the knee.

Some sketches done during my break at work, of Jocelin and maybe a future hunky Icelandic giant of a baker boyfriend? Plus another of her dancing about in her underwear from a week or so ago that will probably be the next digital piece I attempt of Jocelin.

Was in a rather happy mood on break today which helped with that pose, not to mention that girls just wanna have fun came on the radio too.

The unnamed and faceless BF still needs work, but he's taking a bit more shape with each scribbling. Dunno why I though to have him baking naked save for a ruffled apron. Maybe a surprise romantic breakfast. whee

It's terrible how much that made me laugh. xp

Latest WIP. ~ 2 hours on fixing and finishing the rest of the lines save for the three parts I fear doing the most. The sword's rose hilt, her glasses because I've spent a half hour already and still haven't gotten close to making them look right, and lastly the hair because it's the bane of my existence when it comes to drawing. So to distract myself I threw in some of the base colours. Ta-da!

Looking at it now though I think I need to change the colour of the soles of her shoes, the pink looks too jarring. Still looking up so reference for hair though.



Latest update in the image of Jocelin. Tackled the hair today and content with the hair, not overly happy but pleased enough to move of to the next challenge which will be the rose detailing of her sword and head piece.



Went back and redid the hair after recieving some very helpful advice and input from HitokiriChibi. heart





OMG I hate drawing glasses far too much, especially in perspective. Noted for something to practice in the future.



Was playing about with gradients and opacity for the wings and lenses of her glasses and feel they're a bit flat still will definitely have to try and make 'em pop while shading.

Don't know how many hours deep I am now, stopped counting after a while.

Just the rose hilt left to go and then it'll be on to shading. Woo! It's finally coming together.
