Dear professor(s),

Exciting news! Today the cute little pink egg hatched! Man am I ecstatic, it's pink! A tiny little pink Caterpillar clearly having origins from a butterfree! I am however still unsure of the other half of it's gene pool though, perhaps it will become more apparent to me in the future through behavioral habits or if it is to have more evolution's (As I suspect it will) maybe one of the next stages I will be able to guess from. Anyways I'm sure your more eager to hear of the whole hatching process for your research. I was sound asleep in my hotel bed (I had decided to stay my journey until the egg had safely hatched, it simply would not be safe if I got excited to climb and forgot the egg in my back pack and some how would end up damaging it!) Snoring away dreaming of my times back home and old friends when I felt wet, quite wet. Asrai, unable to wake me from my dream as I am quite a deep sleeper, decided if I wont wake from sound then water would have to do it. She was right much to my dismay. Though I didn't really have time to be mad at her since she quickly flew toward the egg where I noticed a fairly big crack down the side. The inhabitant of the egg was quite well on their way escaping the confines of the tight egg. I was sitting right by the egg for a few minutes, unable to decide if I should help it out or let it do it its self. Deciding on the latter I grabbed a towel and a change of clothes and changed near the egg to keep an eye on it's progress should any troubles arrive. It took about an hour before the little caterpillars head popped out! And man was it adorable! It even took a few minutes to look me over too then proceeded to free itself from the egg. Happy with it's new found freedom it wiggles it's way (very cutely) toward me to continue it's own investigation since I needed to figure out the sex as well that was fine and just made my own job easy. Using proper techniques to identify gender (Female) I decide to use the name Isabella since I'm almost certain what will be a beautiful butterfly needs a beautiful name to match! Additional info: 7 inches & 4 lbs. Mostly Caterpie in appearance the antennae are different than the standard they are slightly longer with a slight curl at the tips.
My apologies as well for ranting in this letter, but seeing as it is the middle of the night (I am waiting for her to calm down and go to sleep, she is still excited and investigating all of the hotel room) So I am taking advantage of the free time and quickly writing this letter. there will more than likely be a follow up letter that will quickly follow as I plan to take her and Asrai out. I have considered the possibility of using Isabella in beauty contests. Thank you for your pacience with my rambling letter and I hope that I gave you some info that was actually of use and not just me gushing on about Isabella.
