Bonjour, my dears. I am Professor Basset, and I will be your teacher for the year.
So! You have been recommended to the mystic course, yes? Mystics are one of the most powerful types of wizards, as they do not require a channeler to cast their magic. Instead, we use our bodies as the channeler. This may sound difficult, but I promise by the end of the year you will have lost your ability to use a channeler and instead will literally be able to create your magic in the palm of your own hand.
The Academy requires me to warn you once again, though: once you complete this course, you will no longer be able to use whatever you have used to channel up to now. No more wands, no more rings, no more gems, no more whatever you have been using. This is your final warning, my dears. If you're beginning to have second thoughts, I suggest you visit the Headmaster's Tower.
That being said, the subclasses under the mystic class are simply incredible. Upon your completion of this year, you will have the choice of either becoming a healer, or becoming a tamer. As a quick summary: healers, naturally, heal the wounded, while tamers gain magick creatures as allies via sigils and summoning techniques. These are your paths from here, so I hope you're satisfied with your choices.
Now, I'm quite sure you're all wondering what the class will consist of, yes? There will be a bit of theory work, but much of it will consist of exercises to hone your body to be your channeler. By the end of the year, if you haven't managed to completely wane yourself from your channeler... well, you'll be needing supplementary lessons, as in this state you'd have difficulty performing magic either on your own or with a channeler.
Not to worry, of course! As long as you work hard in this class and don't slack off, you're sure to succeed and prepare to move on to the next stepping stone in your life.
I will see you all in class, my sweets.
