Welcome to Potions! I'm your teacher, Professor Ambercutter. I'll be teaching you this year, and likely most of you for the next three years as well. It depends on whether you want to pursue the practitioner path or not. Regardless, let's go on assuming you'll be stuck with me all four years, hm?
So, what exactly will you be learning in this class? Well, there are plenty of different terms, moves, and types of equipment that you will need to understand before mixing potions. If your a first year, anyway. By graduation I expect that you should be able to concoct something in an emergency, and be able to concoct something that won't kill you.
First years will be learning terms, moves, and equipment before moving on to a few very basic potions. Throughout your years, you will gradually mix more and more difficult mixtures that require more love and less error. (Seriously. Some of the potions in the spellbooks micromanage so much it's a wonder they're even doable.)
On to the classroom itself. I'm sure you noticed when you walked in, but it's more equivalent to a high school lab than a classroom. You will be assigned a partner when you come in, and you and your partner will help each other out during assignments (except for the final and the midterm, of course). Second years will be reassigned partners in the event that one of them has moved on to the practitioner course.
Almost forgot. Only students that are specifically recommended by me can get into the practitioner course. I suggest that you do not get on my bad side for this reason if you dream of being a practitioner.
With that being said, please stop by my classroom at any time to ask questions! I'll see you in class!
