Welcome to the Creatures class. I am your new professor. You may refer to me as Professor Amadi.
Before I explain about the class, I would like to clarify something. Please refer to me using xe/xir/xim pronouns. I will permit a few slip-ups, as I expect this will take getting used to, but anything after the first two weeks will be a one-point penalty.
So, what exactly am I teaching? Well, the creatures of the magick world are incredibly diverse. Dragons in China, for example, vary greatly from dragons in Germany. The solitary Oriental fairies in Japan and fairy colonies found in the Sahara are different in both social and physical structure.
I will not be teaching you every species of magical creature. That is absurd. I will be teaching you different types of creatures that live in different environments, however. For example, first years will be learning about domestic magick creatures, forestdwellers, and humanoids. If you do not have one already, you will learn and find a familiar. The rest of the years will deal with other biomes, as well as proper care for your familiar.
I will not be teaching you every species of magical creature. That is absurd. Instead, I will be teaching you about magical creatures in different cultures. Each year, you will learn five more. I will teach you about some of that culture's creatures, and then I will move on and offer you the resources to learn more. The rest is entirely up to your own volition.
First, of course, first years will learn about the familiars. Then, if you have not yet gotten one, I will give you instructions to form a proper bond with the creature you wish to call your familiar.
If I find that you are abusing your familiar or an animal in any way, shape, or form, you will regret it. I operate under a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to animal harm.
