Below is a piece I did as a thank you to a family member. It's done with prismacolour manga artist pens on watercolour paper.
I'm not much of an artist, but I like to mess around with some paint every now and again. I took a whole bunch of pictures of all the random art I have done in recent years. Some of the pictures are at slightly odd angles or sizes because I couldn't take some things off the wall, but I think you get the idea.
Acrylics on little square canvases
I used a stencil for the Fleur de Lis...but I still think it looks pretty impressive in the frame.
I was trying out pastels here, it seems I can only make clouds with those. sweatdrop
I like collage type things as well, and I put these together with some scrapbooking supplies.
...and that's it. Sorry they're all so huge. I hope the spoiler buttons help out with that. If I make anything else in the near future I'll put it up as well. gaia_kittenstar

Thank you for posting! I really enjoyed your night storm over the water, your clouds are amazing!
Here's a sketch I did at 5 in the morning that I inked because I loved it so much. It captures my mood at that moment:
Oh yeah, that was the one you were talking about at the little gathering last week right? It's so good. I really like the other one too, with all the dots. I wish I had the patience to practice drawing. I'm glad you liked my clouds. xd So far they seem to be the only thing I'm somewhat good at. Maybe I should only paint clouds... That wouldn't be so bad actually. xp
JunkFoodForZombies, I really dig your posts. I especially like the freckles on the second piece. Does the third one represent someone in your life?
Anyway, here's a couple of my things.
I know I did this scribble for something related to this guild, but I forget what, so I'm posting it again. It's me/my avatar doing what I like best, with a couple of stuffed friends keeping my company.
This one began as a 2x3-inch scribble, which I enlarged and traced. It's four instances of Ohsone (my little hero guy) exploring a castle thing.
I imagine they're having a conversation: Yellow - Did you guys find anything? Red - Nothing upstairs! Yellow - You left the light on. Red - It was on when I went up there! Green - I climbed all the way up. Nothing there either. Blue - Hey, guys! There's nothing out here either! I'm on my way back in, I just ... oof, climbing in the window is hard sometimes!

What an excellent selection! I hope you will share more in the future as all of these are very inspiring. 3nodding Are you working with an artist tablet? I'm looking at buying one but am unsure where to start.

Thanks! I have a huion tablet. It has great pressure sensitivity and a large drawing area. It was only 50$ and I love it!!! Got it this year.

Thank you very much! Sorry I'm taking so long to respond. I'll post in here when I draw stuff. I also have a deviantART gallery, but I know it can be easier to just go to this thread.

I was looking at yours (working my way back through the thread, slowly), and I admire the simplicity and confidence of your sun and moon and, especially, the clouds!
Oil painting has always seemed far too much of a make-or-break medium for me: Until recently I'd always make a photocopy or trace my work (as close as you can get to CTRL+Z with paper), which you obviously can't do with canvas.
I'm curious about the "summer tree" piece: May I ask how you achieved the effects of the clouds and the grass? I'm still searching for the perfect technique for those, since I end up drawing them quite a bit.
I'm so glad there are more posts in this forum! It was a little quiet there for a bit.

Clouds seem to be my thing. I'm relatively new to painting and I find I do best with some awesome clouds. I also like painting the moon...it gives things a mysterious quality.
I love your drawings! They're adorable.
The "summer tree" painting was done with watercolors. For the basic shape of the clouds I used a mostly dry round watercolor brush and pulled some of the paint back off the paper. For the "sparkles", I used regular table salt. You just sprinkle a little bit on while it's wet and you get that sort of sparkling affect. The grass was two layers, one layer of green was painted normally across, then I added another layer in a slightly different shade with a mostly dry flat brush, dry enough so the fibers sort of separate a little, with very little paint, to add the grass texture. I hope that answers your question. biggrin

You're so good at drawing! That bedroom is so cute and that skeletal one is amazing.
