The place where the hair, mouse and hatter used to share tea. With the years gone by the three families have separated. Now the table lays lonely and dusted, could the hatter be lurking around?

Lerista walked into the hall where the table was strewn. The sight of this familiar area made him sigh in rememberance. All those wonderful tea parties seemed so far away now. He picked up a broken tea cup and clicked his tongue. "A broken tea cup is no good. Hare would you..." His voice faltered as he remembered that Hare wasnt with him anymore, nor the mouse. He sat down at the head of the table with a heavy thump, causing dust to fly up in all directions. He paid it no mind as his mind drifted and imagined a party so long ago. Where the Hare wasnt so insane, the Doormouse playful as she flitted from tea kettle to tea kettle. And of course the strange girl in blue who had come from another world. He sighed and tossed the tea cup to the side. "So now what..." He leaned forward and shook his head, wondering where it all went so wrong.

The ground shook slightly. A familiar presence might have been felt. Ivy may be seen skipping her way down the hall. She stopped on the opposite side of the table from where Lerista was standing. There was silence as she stared at him. The look on her face slowly changed to a sadden worried expression. She looked down at the table as she touched it. She let out a slight laugh of disbelief. "Where have you been hiding..? A place that has hard finding.. I couldn't even sense you. I.. I didn't know what to do." She couldn't look at him. "I thought you were dead. It just.. it lingered within my head." She took a few steps towards him, keeping her eyes on the table. "You.. Why didn't you join me? You chose to leave me instead. We could have stayed friends, continued to be. But no.. you claimed I've lost my head." She finally looked up at him, her innocence turned slightly angry. She glared at him. "You decided to leave! That, I almost couldn't believe! Why, Leri?!" Her eyes started to turn red.
This wasn't her intentions. The Queen had sent her here in hopes of getting the Hatter to side with her. Ivy had no idea that seeing Lerista again would invoke such anger within her. Lerista would have to calm her down quickly before she would start unleashing hell.

Lerista felt a familiiar presence approaching and knew who it was before he even saw her. She had been the first person who helped him after all. As he looked at her his expression turned slightly sad. "I needed time to think Lily." It was a pet name he didnt use much, a name that when he first appeared in Wonderland was the only thing that stuck. He saw the red eye shift and moved his hand forward to pat her on the head. "Dont be angry with me...its not you I am having this...problem with." It was the queen, he thought to himself. After all since the Red Queen was now gone, the power went to her head and she changed. He removed his hand and sighed softly, then chuckled lightly. "Remember all the fun we had here, oh those were the days." His head pointed at the table, but his eyes were on her. "So what now my oldest friend?"

Ivy's eyes were flickering in and out. She had half a mind to smack his hand away, but she allowed it instead. "Well, you had the time to think.. What's the link? Will you please..? Finally join me, put my mind at ease?" Her hand clutched the side of her face. "Indeed, those times were spackaful. Though, your tastes in teas could be taken as shameful. Speaking of, do you have any..close? I need my.... dose." This started when she lost her mind. If she didn't drink enough tea, her inner demon unleashed. Tea is the only thing to keep herself contained. She reached up with her other hand and gently touched Lerista's face. She smiled, a little saddened. "I've missed you, my friend.. Please, Leri.. Won't you reconsider joining me? We can continue our friendship until time ends." She seemed to be closer to his face as she grew in height. Her eyes are a piercing red. "Tea?" It was practically a whimper.

Lerista watched her eyes flicker and sighed softly. He leaned into her cheek a little bit and reached into one of his many pockets, one of the non hidden ones. "You know I always keep a dose or more for you." He pulled out a pouch and moved to make the tea for her. While he worked on it, he stayed silent. Truth was, he wanted to be with his friend again. They had such wonderful times, both here and there. But now with this change of venue he wasnt sure quite what to do. He finished the cup and turned to place the saucer holding the cup into her hands. He would wait until she took some sips before finally responding to her question. "My friend...its not you at all. You've been with me since I came here...its the queen. While she is pretty and once had been a kind ruler...I dont trust her. I think she inherited more of her sisters madness then she lets on...and not the good kind of madness either." He sighed softly and closed an eye to look at her. "I cant go back to her...why dont you come with me instead?"

Ivy placed her hands on a chair to steady herself while the tea brewed. She watched him. Something was on his mind, and she knew it.. but what? "Ler.." He moved over to her and handed her the tea. She took it, thanked him, and took multiple sips. She shivered. "Much better.. thank you again, dear Hatter." She listened closely. Her eyes shifted back to normal. Her height slowly shrunk back down. She was looking directly into his eyes. Now, she was looking up at him. Ivy dropped the saucer upon Lerista's proposal. She still have the cup in her hand. However, her hand was by her side, and the tea was pouring right out of it. ""Wh..wha... The Queen... has been nothing but nice to me.. Lerista, how could you even be.." It was rare she ever said his whole name. That was the only time he could ever truly tell when she was serious or angry with him. "..this way. I came here and this is what you say? You don't know what its like! She is nice, like you, alike!" She stared into his one eye. She took a few steps closer until she was right under him. "I.. I can't.. I can't join you. No matter what you do." She seemed to twitch all of a sudden. She raised her cup and went to throw it. If Lerista didn't move to the side, the cup would have bashed him in the face. It would have been odd to Lerista because he never seen her throw things outside of her demonic transformations. After throwing it, she would start psychotically laughing. "Oh Leri, you really had me going. Come on, we should get moving." She took his wrist and started slowly walking backwards.

Lerista was taken aback by her quick toss, but not enough to be hit by it. Instead he deftly dodged to the side and didnt miss a beat as he kept talking, not seeming to notice the cup that had flown by. "She may be nice to you but..." As she took his wrist he chuckled and held his ground. His smile to her was warm and friendly but his eyes were sad. "I know you might be angry with me...but I cannot go to her. And you know as well as I that the hatter comes and goes when he wants, not because somebody tells him to come." He laughed loud for a moment, then his face went still as he wondered. The queen wanted him bad enough to send his friend to get him. But why was she acting like this? What did the queen do to his friend? He could easily subdue her by pushing her away with his magic...but this was his closest friend and he just couldnt do it.
He smiled at her again. "How about this...give me some time to think about it...alone. After all, I havent even had my own tea yet and much is to be thought over if...." His face went blank for a moment as his mind wandered. It did this sometimes when he felt pressure. He shook himself after a moment and kept up the pace as if that didnt happen. "And when I decide to go...ok?"

~Meanwhile at the castle~

The Queen waited on the windowsill of her room in peaceful silence. The breeze from outside played with the curtains and the curtains played with her. Gently brushing against her smooth skin, but she paid no attention to it. No, something else had her attention. A nagging voice was in the back of her mind. One that she kept secret and well away from her sanity. Ghostly hands ran themselves along her upper arm. They came back often when she was alone. Those pale transparent fingers always tugged at her physical state. Haunting her peaceful and hard working days. In the wind, the voice rang like an echo. No longer able simply keep it out of mind, Merlina opened her mouth to speak without taking her eyes of the scenery. What do you want. I am tired today and wish to relax. Silence. That was all there was in the beginning. Finally a reply came but no physical body was attacked to it
. Dear sister why do you let him go so easily? Why not take advantage while it's open? That silly mad man is easy target .The ghostly echoed voice replied. Merlina sighed. It seemed that even in the after-life the madness never fades from one's mind. He is still of not much interest. He is strong, clearly, but there is only so much sarcasm and madness that I can handle in one place. The sound of frightening laughter came; hearing glass shatter would have been sweeter to hear. Silly Girl, might as well have him in sight than roaming with pointless thoughts in his broken head. Irritation and anger started to rise in the usually calm Queen. Hearing the voice of her disgraceful sister had been a chore to listen to. A chore that no one could stand to be responsible of. More firmly she replied. If I sent the men to capture him will you be satisfied? And will you leave me alone? It was a relief that you died. Leave the life of the living already. No remorse. My what cruelty from the peaceful Queen! Carefull little sister. I may just haunt you into the after life! HAHA! Fine, it will please me for you to act instead of being a useless observer. Before the end of the sentence, the voice gradually faded. Sigh. Merlina eyes looked over to rest on her open hand. Concentrating on the center of her palm, three wisps of light appeared. Send the guards to capture the Hatter. You know the way. The tree wisps bowed cutely before zooming away and around the castle.

~~~~~~~~~~~
The marched to their destination as they were lead by the wisps. Nearing the location, they all took their positions to ambush. Highly trained, they made little to no sound as they hide behind nearby bushes, tree, and shrubbery. The group's leader held a hand up signaling the others to hesitate. He took the Hatters recent words to the Hare into consideration. Moments of silent waiting past. Once the leader brought down his hand, the soldiers closed in on the area and took their defensive positions. Completely surrounding the target and castle ally, all waited to see what would happen next.
Ivy's hand didn't leave his wrist. "Lerista... what are..." Her head started twitching. "The queen orders it so. You must go." Then she twitched and smiled softly. "I understand, Leri. You'll have a few moments of ..." She burst out laughing psychotically. "You think I'd let you go now that I finally have you back?! This.. This is the greeting ohh such lack!" Her voice was that of a woman's. "It's okay dear one.. I forgive your childish fun. Come, let's go to the castle. Hurry hurry or we'll be a hassle. We must make it back in due time, or else darkness comes and stops the rhyme." She pulled him a little more. When he wasn't budging, her eyes glared at him. She took a few steps closer, pressed against him. "Listen here, Lerista Sir, you left me already I won't let it reoccur! Please.. I beg you. Come home with me. I'll keep you happy, make you tea. The Queen is grand, the kindest in all the land." Poor Ivy. The moment the Queen's men would swarm, she'd loose her marbles. After this, the Queen could fill whatever lies to Ivy, and she'd believe it. After all, she would have no memory of ever coming here once they returned to the castle.
Lerista saw the disturbances in her, he had been around her for so long he knew the signs. He wanted to protect his friend, as she had been there since he had come, but if he went the queen would do....would do...what exactly? He himself didn't know, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. He sighed lightly and used his other hand to pet her hair softly. "Listen to me Ivy...I will go with you. But ONLY with you okay? I do not agree with what you say about the queen....but I see she means more to you then I do." He laughed lightly and it itself sounded tinged with madness.
Ivy slowly seemed to slip away. She stared at him, her body still pressed against him. Her eyes said it all. His comment had hurt her. She took a step back away from him and rose her left hand to her chest, curling her fingers. She looked down for a moment. She looked up at him and faked a soft smile. "thank you.." she grabbed his hand and led him off, keeping her back turned. A tear fell from her face. 'you have changed leri.. you would have never thought so little of me.. ' as she left the area out into the open, she noticed the hidden soldiers. my queen.. didn't believe.. In me.. Lerista could feel Ivy hand tighten in slight anger before calming back down. She burst out laughing.
Larista was saddened by what he had said to his friend. But it was the truth to him. The queen said something to her and she had never been the same since. While at one point he did love the queen and maybe more then he should have, times had changed her and not for the better. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw the guards and felt her hand tighten. He wished he could have stopped her from seeing that, but at least he wondered what she thought. Then as she started to laugh, so too did he. Laughing just as crazed.
Walking away in crazed laughter, the targets were on their way. The leader knew that both had caught sight of his soldiers but didn't bother to be worried. Silently all soldiers regrouped. The wisps still floating around when the leader called then over.
Inform the Queen of the activity. No trouble and the targets are on their way. The wisps nod and fly off. The soldiers return home on a different path, away from castle crazies.
