- The Battle System -
If you couldn't tell by there being a battle section in this book, this roleplay will require some monster battles to move forward. The monsters on this world have very important artifacts in their possession, you see.
But you can't just approach such creatures in any matter. One must follow the appropriate etiquette! So we have created this guide on to the Dos and Don'ts of Monster Battles in our little realm.
This system consists of Light, Medium, and Heavy hits based on numbers rolled/generated by gaia's built in dice roller function. Similar to the system Kalikanna introduced in ADID's Tournament, but adjusted for one sided roleplay battles.
That was quite a fun world, so much chaos....
but I lose focus here.
Where was I?
BATTLES!
Ah yes...dice systems.
This system runs on a 1-50 dice roll. The number generated will determine the strength of the attack. A Heavy Attack is the only type of attack deemed to deal "critical" damage. Monsters will need so many heavy attacks before they are defeated. Though, if you roll a 50 this will count as a Crit. Crits will equal 2 heavy attacks.
The Dice chart is as Follows:
1-18 = Light Attack
19-40 = Medium Attack
40-49 = Heavy Attack
50 = Critical Attack
Pretty straight forward right?
If a heavy attack is all that can really kill it why are there Light and Medium attacks?
They have a purpose, because not every attack will be a critical blow. If that was the case it wouldn't be as much fun would it? And battles wouldn't be nearly as epic. So a certain number of light attacks will equal a medium attack, and then so many medium attacks will equal out to be a heavy attack. Pretty simple stuff really.
It breaks down to be as follows:
2 Light attack = 1 Medium Attack
2 Medium Attack = 1 Heavy Attack
Again? See simple. But I understand that using this system, only one attack per post could make fights REALLY drag out. Which would be tedious and not so fun. Which is why by my good graces of our very blackened hearts we have decided you can roll the dice, AKA attack, three times per post.
That's right. You heard us correctly.
You can roll up to 3 dice PER POST!
As for the monsters themselves, they will be listed with their HP and attributes int he next post. Please post the flavor text appropriately. The big monster battles are designed so your character(s) won't walk away not hurt. So please respect that.
Also another side note...Certain monsters, such as the Leviathan are meant to be a cooperative effort. So we would advise that you take on such dealings with multiple "players." You might not die so easily that way. The only draw back is you won't remember any of this tip IN CHARACTER when you close this book. It's just between you and me.
If you have any more questions, concerns, or even something to add please pm us(CaiaCake). Input is highly valued.
