Back Story

The critical questions

What is the environment like? Desert, city, watery, swampy etc.

Age of the character? This will often play a big role in what they are wearing and their general demeanor.

What is the culture like?
Is it modern urban? Warrior and tribal? Or full of many political parties it's hard to keep track of who is who?

What economic class are they from or currently in? Someone who went from rich to poor will often carry their posture differently than someone going from poor to rich.

What is their occupation? Student? Working some kind of corporate or menial job?

These are just the bare nuts and bolts questions to ask when coming up with something original.

Or you can use the Randomizer!

For this its handy to have a pair of dice, though you will only need one. Or if you don't have dice, find some playing cards and pick out an Ace through 6. Roll the dice or pick out your numbers at random from the cards.

This is great! I've always had trouble making Ocs.....especially with personalities- I also make my characters either too flat or inconsistent

BTW not sure if i was supposed to post or not...I just wanted to express that I'm interested/ am finding this valuable! I'll delete if you wanted this space to yourself for organizational reason

No Problem! Glad to help really. Next week I'll be doing the next session on silhouettes. Once some technical difficulties get sorted out.
