c a p t a i n ' s xx o f f i c e Situated near the lower half of the waterfall, nestled back in some of the trees to ensure privacy, is the office designated for the new captain. A smooth pebble path is built to guide those needing her to the doors, so she is not completely out of touch. She just does not want more interruptions than needed.
Inside, the room is quite comfortable and modest. Decorated in varying hues of blue and cream to off set the rich dark walnut wood, plush couches and chair designate a seating area, and a table is set up near a hidden to provide food and tea to the long meetings discussing history or patients. Though the room is equipped with a bed in a loft above the kitchen, the captain does not sleep there, returning instead to sleep with her senpai and closest friend, the captain of squad four.
What can the captain help you with?

 Enter from: Squad 4's Hospital.
Though she still had her real home in four, Olyna could not imagine going there where she'd be so close to the one person she was beyond frustrated with. No. She had to go elsewhere. The tears that had welled in her eyes before were now streaming full down her cheeks, though no sobs raked from her body yet, but she paid little mind to anyone around her. Including those people she felt inside her gardens.
Instead, she stormed up to her new office, struggled with the door for a moment, before managing to wrench it open again. Within minutes, it was closed once more, and she was trying to keep herself fairly quiet as she cried, angry, hurt, frustrated, and worse with Ayume. Fine. If Ayume refused her help at the hospital, and didn't appreciate any of her hard work, which was obvious, then Olyna would simply throw herself into her work here. After all, she had an entire squad to rebuild. That Ayume was supposed to help her with, but she was too full of herself. Fine. Olyna would do it alone. << OOC: >>

Ji Jo Cho -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ji arrived briskly as he passed down the hall in front of the captain's office, his instrument chirping another sound with each pluck as he walks down and aims for the office in a weird dance-like bee line. He'd only just returned from the hospital, his perception of the dramatic aura of the facility etched in his body from the many events that he silently stood for but had not spoken. It was mere meters from the door of the captain's office when he thought he heard something and stood completely still as though frozen in time. He wasn't sure what it was but kept silent. Hearing it again he closed in on the door and, still holding his pipa with both hands, leaned into the door and listened with his ear pressed. Silence.
Ji knocked lightly 4 times on the door of the man's room with an expression of awkward duty. Though he was concerned from the quiet noises behind the door, his greater concern was to retrieve the papers he'd been asked to do a check on the status of the squad.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the short time that had passed, Olyna had managed to get herself down to a presentable level of upset, with no frustrated tears pricking the corners of her eyes, and minimal shudders as she tried to regain her self control. She had pulled a stack of papers and reports to her, trying to sort through some of the mess that had been discovered from the previous captain's (may he rest in peace) time in control. Well. This was going to change. Now.
In retrospect, she was glad that she had managed to calm herself down as quickly as she had, for it wasn't long that she heard a few light raps on her door, reminding her that no, she was not going to have to fix this mess all on her own. There were others that could help her, namely her recently promoted lieutenant who she hoped was ready to prove himself. Carefully wiping her eyes, hoping that she was with the salty trail of stains down her cheeks that would announce just how frustrated she was in the moment, she shook her head, taking a single moment to hopefully put on a captainy face before calling "Come in!" << OOC: >>

Ji Jo Cho -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ji pushed the door open carefully and gave his first step just as much forethought. Though he wanted to express his usual nature of euphoric melody, the captain's room gave off the kind of feeling that it would have been putting lemon juice on a hand wound. Ji was accustomed to the captain's room but it's occupant was not the usual kind. There sat a girl of bright blue hair, her eyes of an even deeper color. Ji placed his pipa under his arm and pressed his pointed hand to his forehead, saluting.
"Lieutenant Ji Jo Cho of Squad 6!" he stated before then breaking the salute to perform a more gracious bow. "At your service, madame." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She stared at the young man who entered the room following her summons, completely startled as she blinked at him when he spoke up, introducing himself with not only his full name, but his rank and which squad he belonged to. Did he really forget that she was his captain now? That, though the times were few and far between because of her still going to help out at the hospital among other things, she had met him before? That she had been the one to put his name up for consideration as Lieutenant? She stifled a laugh, not entirely sure if he was being serious or not, and gave him a kind smile, half-heartedly returning his salute before gesturing him deeper into her office. "At ease, Lieutenant. Captain Olyna Denygise of Squad Six does not require such introductions every time you come into the room, though. You know that right?" Now, once they started filling their ranks and recovering the squadron more fully, that was another story. She might expect it when she wasn't familiar with them, or when they presented themselves to the higher ranks. But for now? And from him? Nah. "Relax a little. I don't bite. Often."
She sighed, settling back into her chair, a look of distressed crossing her already overwhelmed facade for a moment before it settled into placid acceptance once more. Ayume was a git. Plain and simple. That was all there was to it. So she'd have to solve this problem all on her own. "I could definitely use a hand today, Lieutenant" she said, glancing around at the papers that had been accumulating over the last while that she just hadn't the heart to go through. Patient records to be sorted through and destroyed, documents needing to be authenticated before being added to the library system she had been designing for the new building.... Ugh. Just a mess. "I don't know how the previous captain and lieutenant, may they rest in peace, ever got anything done around here. This place is a mess... and these aren't even half of the records!" She sighed, shaking her head and picking up a pile herself. "Grab a stack and start sorting, I suppose, for now. Mental health records here, anything else related to the hospital here, and documents meant to go to the archive here. If you aren't sure what it is, put it in a pile on its own and I'll take a look at it once we've culled this a little, okay?" It was busy work, yes, but it was work that needed to be done.
And with the Soul King back in the Seireitei.... She needed to get this place back on track, no matter how hefty the task.
But there was no reason that this had to be a silent effort either. "So, Ji... I'm sorry I've been distracted over the last while..." she said, her deft fingers skimming through the pile with a practiced ease. She had done this before, over in four when she was lieutenant, periodically, but especially in the beginning when Ayume was taking over the captainship. Ugh. That girl spent too much time in her life. Bah! "But I do intend to rectify that. Tell me a little about yourself, Ji. Just who are you? What makes you tick?" If they were going to work together, that was something she would need to know about it. It would help, in the long run, if she knew him, and managed to feel more comfortable around him at the same time.... << OOC: >>

Ji Jo Cho -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ji strummed several strings on his instrument and walked away to a random bookshelf within the room. He seemed to ponder the question for a few minutes before looking back. "I'm afraid only sound makes me 'tick', though that is a tad vague. I've lived with sound as far as I can remember. I suppose that, if I had memories past the Soul Society, there'd be a time when I was also playing and listening to the delicate sounds crafted by wooden or iron creations. If that's not enough for you, the furthest I can extend my resume is that I am a lover of flowers."
Ji stopped rambling but made mental notes. His captain had probably been in tears but, regardless of his curiosity and concern, it was best for him to refrain from overstepping the boundaries. She would speak or cry when she was ready to do so in front of him. If that day ever came, he would be ready. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She nodded and sighed, completely understanding. "I don't remember much of my life from then either... just blips and blurs." All of which were disturbing and frightening. She was not inclined to share in the slightest."But music, hmm? Maybe you can teach some of our patients. Help calm them down. If we ever get to the point where we can have them again, given this mess..." she sighed, picking up another stack.
It would be a miracle if she ever saw the floor again.... << OOC: >>

Clement Pickett "Doc" Quincy Officer of Squad 4 Before God. . . Before their Mothers. . . They call for me. . .Clem knocked on the door of the captain's office. He carried several folders with him, copies of his medical and psychological records. His actual records were kept in a fireproof safe in his home. He hoped to give her the copies and Ideally he would also be able to get an appointment scheduled. He suspected that the higher concentration of reiatsu was to blame for the intensifying problems. He remembered her behavior during the crisis at the hospital, but knew he needed to at least give her the records and get an appointment scheduled. I am the Medic. . . And I will always come for you.

They had lapsed into silence, sorting through the stacks of papers that had been left behind from the previous captainship who, sadly, had not survived that last major battle. She had fallen into a rhythm, the slide of papers rustling across one another in the otherwise silence of the room soothing her troubled conscious. A gentle breeze has started drifting in through the cracked window, perfuming the room with the gentle scent of flora that grew just outside. It was peaceful, it was serene, and she was finally starting to fully calm after her blow-out with the woman she had thought was the best thing in her otherwise miserable existence.
At least, it was, until it was pierced by the sharp rapping of knuckles on a closed door.
She let out an audible groan, almost annoyed to be interrupted. Since no one had come to seek her advice or to use her skills, she had to assume that the person at the door was either going to be Ayume herself, come to continue their argument and continue to push her buttons, or one of Ayume's crew, summoning her. Neither of which Olyna had much patience for at the moment.
She stood, setting the last of her papers aside to finish sorting later, and moved towards the door, indignant irritation swelling in her. "I don't want to hear anymore of your ridiculousne-- OH!" she started as she ripped open the door angrily and froze, blinking in surprise and falling abruptly silent as she saw that it wasn't Ayume herself, but one of her squad members. The member that Olyna had put to the test after the fight when the Soul King had appeared and then vanished. Though she had been there every single day, still fulling the duties as 4's lieutenant that were no longer hers, since she had gained her own title and squad at the time, she had failed to take much time to talk to him beyond giving him orders and checking in on patients. What was his name...? Clement. Pickett. Or something like that. He carried a stack of a papers tucked into a folder that made her eyes narrow as she folded her arms beneath her breasts. "Did Ayume send you over here? What does she want now, hmm?" << OOC: >>

Clement Pickett "Doc" Quincy Officer of Squad 4 Before God. . . Before their Mothers. . . They call for me. . .Clem straightened up and cleared his throat. "My captain did not send me with anything ma'am. I came here to drop off my records." He said, approaching her and presenting the folder. The folder was bound in elastic bands with the words FILE COPY stamped on the cover in red ink. "I also wanted to see if I could set up an appointment with you or one of your subordinates. I've been having trouble sleeping these past few weeks and I don't want it to start impacting my duties." He said, sneaking a quick glance behind her to the massive amount of paperwork. I am the Medic. . . And I will always come for you.

Ji Jo Cho -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ji spun on a heel energetically as he heard the man's requestion. "A new patient?" he said as he re-drew his instrument smoothly and fingered some of the notes with two careful fingers. "A small case of insomnia, nay?" Color flooded her face when the man corrected her, saying he was not here under orders from his captain, but for himself, brandishing the folder of paperwork at the same time. Okay, okay. She had been mistaken, and she mumbled an apology, reaching out to take the papers as her lieutenant spoke up, reiterating what the man had just said while starting to play his instrument.
Olyna flipped open the folder, glancing at the first page full of the doctor's medical history, reading through the basic stats with a slight frown. There wasn't anything she could see just from that quick scan that would explain his symptoms, but she wasn't looking for a phsycial cause. Not anymore. He had come to her, so he must have thought it was mental or emotional.
Snapping the folder shut, she nodded, gesturing down the hall as she stepped forward a little more, coming fully out of her office. "I can actually see you now, if you'd like. If you don't mind my lieutenant coming along, if he choose, I can get to the root of the problem today by using my squad's Mind Sight. It's accurate, I find, but also tends to wear the seeker out, depending on what we find. Will that be alright?" Get to the root of the problem, show her lieutenant that she wasn't crazy in developing and training that skill, and get this patient sleeping again in no time flat.
Didn't sound like too bad an afternoon. << OOC: >>

Clement Pickett "Doc" Quincy Officer of Squad 4 Before God. . . Before their Mothers. . . They call for me. . ."That sounds, different." Clem said, turning to face her. "I've been to a number of shrinks, but never one that could go into my head. Is there some kind of counseling beforehand or a sort of confidentiality form I need to fill out?" He asked, his voice less than confident. He wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of someone going through his mind. He didn't want his deepest secrets revealed, insomnia and nightmares were just symptoms of something that went much deeper. I am the Medic. . . And I will always come for you.
