Welcome to my secret garden. Won't you come inside and play?
So in the near future, Moonseed is going to find herself a mother. One child will stay with me, but I'm giving an opportunity for anyone brave enough to want to join such a family to win the second child.

Play by the rules
That means follow Gaia TOS and shop rules. If I see you violating them I'll give you a nudge to correct things, but any blatant disregard will result in disqualification.
Play nice
No discouraging people from entering. Don't be a sore loser or unpleasant winner. It's never been an issue yet, and hopefully it stays that way.
Play the game
The story of this family is still unfolding. This is only the first step. I'll do my best to set the stage so you can see where I might be going, but that's only part of the game. The whole reason for entering is not because you want to be part of the story, you want to help make it. This story means something to me, so show me how much it means to you.
Ready?

Meet Moonseed, mother of the child you'll be entering for. Here's a few things you might want to know:
• Moonseed is an excellent gardener and has a fascination with poisonous plants. She has been cultivating a poison garden for a long time and has quite a variety. It is quite lovely and able to be safely traversed, but it is not recommended you do so without a passable knowledge of botany.
• Moonseed's namesake is a poisonous plant that looks similar to wild grapes.
• Moonseed is immune to several kinds of botanical poison and has a high tolerance level for most of the rest. This tolerance is not genetic; it is the result of working with poisonous plants for a long time. It is risky to touch her because potential botanical oils in her fur that cause her no trouble could cause a serious reaction in one who does not share her tolerance.
• Moonseed has mental problems. She acts child-like most of the time and has random swings of mood and emotion. She is rarely dangerous, but it is best to be cautious. The origin of her insanity is unspecific at this time, though her mental state is more aggravated than it once was. As her story progresses she will become calmer and easier to handle due to the influence of the as-of-yet-unnamed male who will be the father of the children. She will not be mentally capable of being a mother-figure to her first children, and they may or may not be an additional influence furthering her towards mental stability. Only time will tell.

Now let's talk a bit about the father:
• Appearance is going to be kept secret until after the winner is decided, and since sometimes my names reflect an individual's appearance, that will be kept classified as well. This is both to make sure looks won't play a part in wanting a kid and cause I just like the idea of a surprise factor.
• There's actually quite a bit of backstory behind the father, but since it's all past details and plays no part in the current story aside from shaping personality, you'll only learn about it through any memories he relives during roleplay.
• He will end up lifemated to Moonseed, though for story reasons this probably won't be officially submitted until around their third breeding.
• He will be the lead parental figure for the children. This will be necessary given Moonseed's mental state, though he is also a good parent and will love his children. He will do his best to make sure Moonseed and the kids understand their own connection, even if Moonseed is not fit to be a mother at the moment.
Now that introductions have been made, we'll move to the next bit.
What can you expect from Moonseed?
Moonseed generally acts in a simple-minded way, much like a child, but she's not completely child-like either. There will be times when she is in a trance-like state and will not respond at all to the presence of others. When she does notice people she tries to lure them into her garden and will point out all the different plants and talk about what they do. It can be educational, but it's highly non-recommended since there's a lot of stuff she doesn't point out. Her attention span also fluctuates, so she might drift off into her own world again or start repeating herself. This could also be because her memory seems to suffer along with everything else and she has a hard time retaining information not related to plants. The father has begun the slow process of pulling Moonseed into a more self-aware state and constantly tries to make sure she knows the children are hers. There will be a few very rare moments when she is stuck in silent self-contemplation. She will not move much or say anything during these moments, but when she looks at her children they will be able to get the sense that she recognizes them. This is only temporary, for soon she will be drawn back into her inner world. Moonseed will likely forget their names, that they are her children, or that she has even met them before, until they are well into their adulthood and past the point a mother-child bond can be established.
What can you expect from the father?
He has a seemingly limitless supply of patience and will love his children above all else. He is equal parts protector and nurturer, and though he wishes with all his heart that his children would not grow he also realizes it's something that has to happen at some point. He is the kind that will brag about his children to others or tease them because he thinks they are cute, though he knows when to pull back. He can be considered overprotective in some veins, but in the end all he wants is for them to be happy and healthy. He will be the only reason they realize they have a mother. Once a day for a little bit of time he will vanish after leaving his children in a safe, secure location, so that he can talk to Moonseed. Some days he will bring the children along and include them. Though he wishes they could have a bond with Moonseed and continues trying to help her recognize her own children, he will never leave them alone with her. He will do his best to make sure the children understand why their mother is the way she is so they do not grow up to hate her, though he will not try to force them into loving her. His children may come to view him as part friend, part defender, and part discipliner, and though they might naturally clash with him as they grow and seek more freedom, when they look back they will (perhaps reluctantly) realize he was always right.
What can you expect from the sibling?
Your sibling will be the opposite gender of yourself. Age will be randomly decided. At the moment there is no concrete personality, and there probably won't be until I know the gender. I can at least say they will adore their father, be fond of their sibling, and view their mother with a slightly cautious but curious manner.
Let's talk about the kid.
• You don't get to see the incense containers. They, like their father, will be a mystery. Instead you'll just pick a gender.
• I use a certain naming style. If pressed for an answer I would say my preference is that you name them in the same style, but it's not something I require. All I ask is that you keep the mental state of the parents in mind and think of what kind of name they would choose.
• Moonseed's condition is not genetic. Her children will be mentally healthy, as will be any of their descendants. They may develop quirks, but keep it within a normal range.
To Enter
1.) Just fill out the form and post. You may edit your post as much as you like until the contest closes. Be sure to fill out the entire form.
2.) There are minimum word requirements for some of the questions. If you don't meet the minimum before the contest ends, you will be disqualified.
3.) Try to be as detailed as possible. You're allowed to edit your entry, so if after thinking about the personality of the child you stumble on a quirk or hobby, add that in. If new ideas for their future occur to you, toss 'em out there! There is no such thing as overthinking here.
4.) I will post in thread and quote all entrants when the closing date is decided.
5.) If you have any questions at all, don't be afraid to shoot me a PM!
