Once we have a few members we can use this thread to discuss contests and how they'll work.

General idea I have at the moment is that if we run contests a new thread will be made for that specific contest, detailing the theme etc.

Voting can be done in two ways.

1) Submissions are submitted privately to me and I'll create a vote thread with the options so people personally vote for which one they like the most.

2) Everyone openly posts their submissions to the contest thread and a select panel of judges chooses the winner based on set criteria.

About the prizes, I don't know how's guild's budget so far but in the other guild I'm in, we usually put some gold base as a prize and then others may 'donate' prizes from gold and items to art. Why won't we try?
And about themes we used to have one week just to throw our ideas on the forum and another to collect them in the poll and vote for the best one. That seems pretty fair.
Anyway, I'd suggest creating a Guild's Accountant's account so we'd have a clear idea of where to donate and what kind of prizes a guild may offer at the moment for any kind of contest or to honorable members etc.

A Guild Accountant huh. I shall think about it once we get more feedback about these contests and if they will actually go ahead.

For now I'm cool with donating gold personally since this is sort of like my lil project and then we can expand the prize pool as needed.

I think contests are good though because you KNOW it's a competition and that can sometimes do wonders for pushing you past your own limits. I used to hang out in the Art Contest section of Gaia because it was helping me work on my art more for that reason.

That being said, perhaps we can have different categories to be won?
