You're so glad you came here.
Flare is a two-story building with the name of the center in flaming letters over the entrance. (Sometimes for special events, the center's been known to literally light the sign on fire.) The outside looks ordinary enough, but inside is a different story.
Inside, Flare is jam-packed with tons of places to go and things to do, with plenty of staff to ensure the kids don't hurt themselves. There's a large gym area with basketball nets and easy-to-set-up soccer goals, among numerous other items. There's an entire shelf in the closet devoted to different types of balls. All you'd have to do is gather a few friends, take about ten minutes to set up equipment, and you can play soccer, basketball, dodgeball, hockey, matball, kickball, and plenty of other sports.
There's another room that's lined with computers, which is almost always occupied by kids doing research or chatting online or playing games. There's a small library full of young adult fiction and beanbags scattered on the floor. There's a a room with several tables and a few vending machines that are always stocked. There's even a room with board games and consoles of every sort. You don't even want to think about how this small town got enough money to build this place.
Of course, then you find the door marked "Do Not Enter" with a small pentagram etched into the corner and you figure it out. Of course half this place is running on magick funding. What business in town isn't?
Downstairs is even better. There's a spell practice range, an isolated room that's always monitored where you can practice spells privately. There's three or four meeting rooms with a table and several chairs for when you need to have a group talk. There's even a miniature library with a few tomes that aren't in the school's library. Probably the best thing of all down here, though, is the tiny shop that sells harmless trinkets, snacks, charms, and potions. Come to think of it, that's probably where Flare gets some of its funding.
Welcome to Flare!
