Dear Professor,
Abrielle has hatched! I was very surprised when it happened. I was about to go to the group induction at the town hall when her egg started cracking in my arms. She was happy to be able to interact with the world. She picked pretty much everything in my room with her telekinesis and examined it. She really likes my ponytail holders which is a little annoying. Often when I put my hair up she’ll just pull them off my head. She tried to put one on her head, but her blade cut it. By the way the blade on top of Abrielle’s head is really damn sharp. I noticed it when she hatched and have been careful since, but well, my legs and my clothes have seen better days. The blade can cut through wood pretty well. I mean I’ve tested it on a couple of sticks. I wouldn’t mind trying it the sharpness on metal, but I have no idea how to test that.

Aside from some scratches, Abrielle and I have been getting along well. I keep her out of her pokeball most of the time. Not really uncommon, I just like getting to know my teammates. We’ve been spending a lot of time at the park. As there are not many trainers or wild pokemon I can’t trainer her as often as I would like. Instead we have been practicing moves and her psychic abilities. Her telekinesis is near perfect, able to hold several objects at once. She can’t sustain it for very long, but I’m sure she is only going to get better. Her telepathy has improved, but not by much. It seems like she doesn’t really care about that ability. Perhaps because it doesn’t have such an obvious application to the wild. I suspect this is from her Pawniard half. She is curious, but practical. Abrielle approaches each new thing carefully and with a restraint that I don’t see in many psychic types. This may seem that the fusion is beneficial, but there are some behaviors that have me worried. When we are play fighting in the park sometimes she stops doing the move I ordered and simply…punches the target. I think she’s trying to stab it with the blades a pawniard would usually have on their hands. It doesn’t go on for very long as she quickly notices that she’s not doing anything, but it still worries me. The behavior seems to come out of nowhere.

She is a very sweet pokemon most of the time, I’ll admit that. She never leaves my side and has been helping me around the room I’m staying in. I still tell her stories every day. Now that she can directly interact with me, she has been cheering to indicate which stories she likes better. Currently her favorites are “The Tale of Jirachi” and “The History of King AZ.” She has enjoyed every story so far, but those have elicited the greatest reaction. I will keep you up to date on Abrielle’s progress.

Sincerely,
Araceli Trifiro
